Orange juice, a glass of milk sat on the tray as well. She drank them both down and finished up the food.

“You are going to make me fat with all this good food.” Magnusson teased him.

“You are healthy and will work it off, I am sure. A few more pounds will not hurt you.” Magnusson told her with a smile.

She laughed at him then, it felt wrong to laugh and be happy at this point in time. It was still a horrible night and she had lost two close friends. She wondered what time it was, and as if on cue he answered her.

“It is around five in the evening. I can walk around in the penthouse because I have special blinds that keep all the sun out. If it had not been for those, I would not have come to you earlier.” Magnusson waved toward the windows.

“I see, that explains the dark in the room. I hadn’t seen any windows in the room though so that might have accounted for that.” Majesta had looked around, but couldn't move around.

He didn’t seem to need to speak to let the topic go. He put the em

“He is smoking hot, you couldn’t ask for a hotter body. He seems to care that you are upset. Plus, he gave you free rein of his bedroom. He is sleeping on the couch. Come on, what man does that?” Sage pointed out all the good things, but seemed to miss the fact that fae and shifters didn’t mix.“So his looks are all that matter?” Nix asked, then laughed again when Sage seemed shocked that she had said just that.“Not really what I meant,” Sage said, then looked at the door when Slyven walked in. He was alone, which seemed shocking.“Xylia had to get home. Something about food or drink. I don’t really understand,” Slyven told Nix when he came into the room. Nix looked at him and the crestfallen look on his face.“You need to ask her what she is,” Nix told him with a slight smile.“She is fae; I can scent it on her,” Slyven told

“She told you to stay away from me, didn’t she?” The pain in her voice cut to his soul. Why did he have to have a godmother who would want to keep him away from her? Slyven didn’t think twice when he pulled Xylia into a hug.“She did, but I told her that I didn’t want to hear it.” Xylia pushed away from him to see that he was being honest. How the hell did she find a man who wanted to be around her? Wait, he didn’t know about her yet.“Slyven come back inside. Mom wants to talk to us,” Sage called from the front door. Slyven didn’t want to go inside, but Xylia took his hand, leading him back into the house. Slyven felt like a puppy following the woman back into the house. When they came to the living room, Slyven noticed that Aarshon was sitting with his mother. He didn’t care for that much, but didn’t say anything.“You two need to understand that I ran

“Nix?!? Please, goddess tell me it is you.” Russell said on the phone it shocked Nix that he would be asking the goddess to have her call.“Yes, it is. I was told you were sick.” Nix started out, and she could tell that he wasn’t as strong as he once had been.“Don’t worry about me, I worry about you. I was so stupid! Please forgive me! I would like you to come back to the pack.” Russell said, but Nix stiffened at the thought.“No, I won’t be coming back to the pack. I know you must…” She was cut off by him cussing at the phone.“Why the hell do you have to be so stubborn? You belong with the pack. Come now, right now.” Russell hadn’t changed much if you asked Nix.“Russell, listen to me, I am not coming back. I do want to tell you something that I just found out myself. If you stopped being an ass for a few moments.” Nix told him with a sli

“Xylia is right that Nix was never told about her gifts. The princess is a witch to the shifters. A princess is an omega mixed with an alpha. With that comes a certain power; she can control most men unless they’re on the hunt. Along with these gifts, she can speak to almost any animal. It is telepathic, but she can do it.” Willow spoke for the first time. Nix looked at her in amazement. No one knew about the shifters, or so she had been told by her father.“How do you know that?” Nix asked, it seemed like the right thing to say. Sage nodded when Nix spoke.“That, my dear, is simple. I used to be a midwife to the shifters. Many years ago, you see, back then, the shifters would let the woman choose who would be in the hunt. Those that she felt would give her the strongest pups. I have a feeling that will be happening again. Most of the women who went through the newer hunts went insane days later. Nothing would he

“Xylia, I told you not to come,” Rayne told her daughter, but seemed not to be there. Xylia was staring into the other room. When Rayne turned to see who she was looking at, it didn’t shock her that Slyven was staring down Xylia. Rayne was about to lead her out of the room when Nix came in. She gave Xylia a big hug, then turned to enter the room. Xylia clung to Nix’s hand, following her into the room. When she looked at the twins, Nix started to cry. Tears ran down her face, making a mess of the makeup she had put on.“I. Can’t. Even.” Nix started, but Sage jumped up from the couch. She pulled Nix into a hug. Slyven stood to follow his sister. They hugged Nix until she stopped crying. The memory of their birth came back to Nix along with the fear that she had felt.“Mom, you’re fine, we know what happened,” Sage started, but Slyven growled at her. Nix turned toward her son.“Don’t growl at y

They believe he is going to die of a broken heart. That is part of the reason that your half-brothers are looking for you. They don’t want to see Russell die. Alice thinks that if they can find you that they can bring his health back.” Nix looked at her, then tilted her head to one side. They wanted her to come back to the pack to save her father? Wait, what about her mother?“What happened to my mom?” Nix finally asked; it was hard for her to hear most of this secondhand. Her mind didn’t want to grasp the entire story.“Your father kicked her out of the pack when she gave birth to a human son. Belinda is well, as is the child. Nix, you can’t go back to the pack; the magic you have will bind you to them. You need to see your children.” Willow said, but Nix was trying to deal with everything at once. The room was spinning again, and blackness started to dance around her vision.“She is going to pass out again,
