Rose’s Pov

By the time we got to the palace, it was already dark. The torches lit the palace with a very soft orange glow. Even if my legs were feeling very heavy, I felt calm because Aiden’s hand was warm in mine.

“My love, I need to speak with my father now. I’ll see you later.” Aiden said calmly as he placed a soft kiss on my cheeks.

Nodding my head, I let out softly as I tried to steady my voice. “Alright.”

I turned to Fred and Ivy. “I’ll head to my room now. We’ll see later.” My words felt small in the palace hallway.

“Alright Rose.” Ivy responded with a smile as she gave me a warm hug. Her arms were steady and kind.

As I began to walk slowly to my room, I noticed that the palace was quieter than usual. I kept walking and I spotted a figure coming toward me from the other end of the corridor. My heart skipped the moment I recognized her. It was Luna Eva. The one that gave my position to Cassandra at the royal hunt. The memory still hurts.
