Storm In Her Veins

last update publish date: 2026-05-07 21:35:27

Lyra could not sleep. The palace felt too small for what raged inside her. Silver light pulsed through her body in waves that matched her heartbeat. Every pulse cracked another tile in the floor. Every breath sent sparks dancing across the ceiling. Kael lay beside her breathing deep but she knew he was awake. His hand rested heavy on her bare stomach like he could hold the chaos down by touch alone.

Outside the walls the enemy camp grew louder. More fires. More howls. Rowan refused to leave. Selene fed his rage with whispers Lyra could almost taste on the wind. Her old life calling her back while the new one burned her from the inside.

She sat up. Sweat slick on her skin. The sheets stuck to her thighs where Kael had taken her again only hours ago. Marks from his mouth still throbbed on her breasts. Between her legs she felt swollen and used and starving for more. The Lunar blood loved the mess. It drank the guilt and the pleasure and asked for seconds.

Kael’s arm tightened. “Stay.”

“I cannot.” She stood. Naked. Glowing. Power rolling off her in visible waves. The bedposts groaned and splintered behind her. “It wants out. I want out.”

He rose with her. Pulled on pants but nothing else. Scratches from her nails marked his chest like war paint. Fresh bites on his neck glowed where her power had sunk in. He looked like sin and victory mixed together.

They walked the dark halls. Guards bowed and backed away fast. One young soldier stared too long at her bare body. Lyra’s power lashed out and dropped him twitching to the floor. She did not even flinch anymore.

The training yard waited empty under a fat moon. Mud still bloody from yesterday. Broken weapons scattered like bones. Lyra stepped into the center and let go.

Silver storm exploded from her. Ground split open. Stone benches shattered into dust. The sky itself seemed to answer. Clouds boiled overhead and thunder cracked without rain. She screamed through it. Raw. Ugly. Full of every feeling she had swallowed since the rejection night.

Kael stood in the middle of her chaos. Arms open. Taking every hit. Power burned him. Cut him. Fed him. His eyes glowed pure silver now. Matching hers. The king who could swallow her storm and grow stronger from it.

She charged him. Not with fists. With her whole body. They crashed together in the mud. Rolling. Biting. Kissing. Her legs wrapped around his waist. He thrust up into her right there on the torn ground. Hard. Deep. No mercy. Mud and blood and silver light mixed between their bodies.

Lyra rode him like the war itself. Nails digging into his shoulders. Head thrown back. Mouth open on silent screams while power poured out of her and into him. Every thrust dragged her closer to the edge. Every growl from his throat made her wolf howl louder.

They came together violent. Her power detonated across the yard and lit the night sky like a second moon. Windows in the palace shattered from the force. Distant horns sounded in panic from both sides of the walls.

Afterward she collapsed on his chest. Breathing ragged. Mud caked in her hair. His cock still buried inside her. Twitching with aftershocks.

“I am going to destroy everything.” She whispered it against his throat. Taste of his sweat and blood on her tongue.

Kael’s hand fisted in her hair. Pulled her head back so he could look at her. “Then destroy. I will build again with whatever is left.”

A weak howl rose from the enemy camp. Rowan. Voice hoarse and broken. He had felt it. The joining. The claiming. The way she gave herself to the enemy king in the dirt like an animal in heat.

Shame tried to rise. The Lunar blood burned it away. Lyra ground her hips down once more. Slow. Deliberate. Taking what she wanted. Kael groaned and hardened again inside her.

They fucked a second time. Slower but no less brutal. Teeth on throats. Fingers bruising hips. Silver ropes of power tying their bodies together so tight it hurt.

When they finally separated the yard looked like a crater. Smoke rose from scorched earth. Lyra’s legs shook so bad Kael had to carry her back inside.

In the eastern wing Mira waited with fresh water and clean cloths. The girl’s eyes went wide at the sight of them. Muddy. Bloody. Glowing. Smelling of sex and destruction. She bowed and left without a word.

Kael washed Lyra slow. Hands careful now. Almost gentle. The contrast made her chest ache. When he found the fresh bruises between her thighs he pressed a kiss there. Soft. Possessive.

Rowan attacked again before dawn. Desperate this time. He broke through the outer gates with a small group. Fighting reached the palace yards.

Lyra met him in the great hall. Kael at her side. Both of them still damp from the bath. Power crackling between them like living lightning.

Rowan looked half dead. Eyes sunken. Body bleeding from fresh wounds. He stopped when he saw her. Really saw her. The marks. The glow. The way she stood beside the enemy king like she belonged there.

“Lyra.” His voice cracked completely. “I came to take you home.”

She stepped forward. Silver light pouring off her. “This is home now. Leave or I end this myself.”

He lunged anyway. One last broken charge.

Her power met him full force. It lifted him off his feet and slammed him through the heavy doors. He flew out into the yard and did not rise.

Selene’s scream tore through the night as her wolves dragged him away.

Lyra stood in the ruined hall. Chest heaving. Tears on her face. Kael pulled her back against his chest. Arms locked around her like iron.

The war was far from over. But something inside her had snapped completely.

She was no longer the rejected girl.

She was the storm wearing a woman’s skin.

And she was only getting started.
