“Which invitations,” Matteo spoke without looking up.

His Beta, Carl, stood nearby holding the letters carefully in his hands. “The Crimson Moon Pack has an upcoming wedding,” he said.

At that, a few of the other Lycan commanders exchanged glances.

Among werewolves, Lycans were feared, stronger, rarer, almost untouchable, but the Crimson Moon Pack was not just any pack.

It was the strongest in the werewolf world.

And Alpha Ryan, despite being a bad father, was known as a ruthless and effective leader.

Dante, his gamma, tilted his head slightly. “I think we should attend.”

Carl adjusted his glasses. “They are one of the few packs who paid respects when your parents died.”

That made Matteo pause.

A faint smirk tugged at his lips as something flickered in his memory—someone.

A ginger-haired girl.

“Which daughter?” he asked calmly. Carl blinked, surprised. “It doesn’t specify.”

Matteo gave a low hum and leaned back into his chair, already losing interest as he returned to his documents.

Carl turned toward the door, then hesitated.

“Umm… Victoria came by again,” he added carefully. Matteo didn’t even look up.

“Don’t tell me about irrelevant people to me again.” Carl sighed quietly and left.

A few minutes before midnight…

The room was silent except for the faint scratching of pen on paper. Matteo finally closed the file, pushed back his chair, and stood.

On the balcony, the night air was cold.

He wore relaxed lounge wear, a glass of wine in one hand, a cigarette between his fingers as he leaned against the railing.

He took a slow drag, exhaling into the darkness.

His phone lit up. Unknown number. Another message. A photo appeared.

Victoria.

Dressed in revealing lingerie, posing deliberately for the camera. The angle made her cleavage very visible and her nipples could be seen from the fabric. Under normal circumstances, any man might have reacted.

Matteo stared for a second… then expressionlessly blocked the number.

He picked up his phone and called Carl.

Carl answered half-asleep. “What is it now?” he muttered.

Matteo’s voice was calm. “Tell your sister to stop acting like a prostitute.”

Click.

The call ended.

Carl froze in silence before groaning internally.

Matteo returned his gaze to the night sky, taking another slow drag of his cigarette.

He wasn’t interested in distractions. Not women.

As unbelievable as it may seem, he was waiting. For his mate.

He looked up to the moon in the sky and inwardly cursed the moon goddess

Laughter echoed through the training grounds.

Myra moved easily between the fighters, her energy lighter than usual for once. For a brief moment, she almost looked free.

“Myra!” someone called.

A soldier jogged toward her, smiling. Myra turned immediately, her expression brightening. “Kendal!”

She ran toward him without hesitation and jumped into his arms, wrapping her legs lightly around his waist.

Kendal caught her effortlessly, steadying her with a soft laugh as he held her close. Both of them locked eyes. A growl snapped out both of them

A sharp silence fell over the edge of the training grounds.

Aiden stood there, veins throbbed from his forehead, his wolf was clearly agitated with the fact that his mate was cozying up to a man. Moreso the man that Kylie was infatuated with. Kendall was also Myra’s best friend, basically childhood sweethearts but they had no feelings attached because they held intense value for their mates.

Aiden's expression darkened instantly.

The mate bond inside him reacted violently, a low, suffocating pressure building in his chest.

Kendal, unaware of the tension, kept Myra steady, smiling at her as they spoke quietly.

That was when Myra noticed Aiden. She snickered when she saw Aiden's reaction and leaned closer to Kendal.

Aiden’s eyes sharpened. “Get away from him, Myra,” he said coldly.

His voice cut through the air like a blade.

“Or what? The Beta should not involve himself in matters concerning an ex-convict,” he added, voice controlled but dangerous. “Respect yourself and focus on what matters… like your wedding”

Myra tilted her head. Then smiled. A little too sweetly.

She winked at Kendal.

Kendal smiled cooperatively and held her waist tighter pulling her close. He too had a grudge to settle.

Before anyone could react, his fist slammed into Kendal’s face.

Once. Twice. Again and again. Each hit carried more force, more frustration, all his pent up emotions releasing, Kendal tried to defend himself, but against the Beta, he stood no chance.

“Stop it!” A commanding voice cut through the chaos.

His presence alone forced stillness into the air. Aiden froze mid-motion, chest rising and falling heavily as he stepped back from Kendal, his jaw clenched tight.

Kendal staggered but remained upright, wiping blood from his lip.

Myra rushed to his side immediately.

Amelia scattered everything she could find in the room, breaking equipment, throwing things against the wall, screaming and shouting hysterically. “Where is she?” Her body grew restless as she failed to recognize the unfamiliar environment, panic clawing at her chest as she shifted uncontrollably between wolf and human, tearing pieces of her clothes in the process. Nothing felt real, nothing felt right, and it only made the rage worse. She grabbed whatever her hands touched and destroyed it without thinking, glass shattering, metal clanging, until there was nothing left within reach. Her strength finally gave out and she slumped to the floor, weakly covering her face as her tears spilled out, her shoulders shaking. Where is that bitch? Where are those people? Her voice cracked, but there was no answer. Slowly, her eyes faded back to their original green, the anger sinking but not disappearing.Melissa rushed inside. After meeting Dante and spending some time with him, she had returned

Lyka’s voice carried irritation as she folded her arms, clearly displeased. “I just got married, Dad. I haven’t even had my honeymoon yet, and you’re already sending me away. Don’t you want grandchildren? And now you want me to go to the Lycan Kingdom of all places? I’ve heard how they treat outsiders, I’m not going to throw myself into a place full of people who look down on us.” Ryan’s fist slammed hard against the table, the sound echoing through the dining hall as everyone froze. “Enough,” he said, his voice low but filled with anger. “I have had enough of your complaints. Those same Lycans you are insulting are the reason you live the life you enjoy so much. Their wealth funds your comfort, your luxury, every single thing you take for granted. If you want to keep living like this with your designer clothes and your expensive lifestyle, then you will drop that attitude and do what is required of you.”Lyka’s lips pressed together, her pride clearly bruised, but she lowered her hea

“Melissa,” Matteo growled the moment he stepped into the infirmary, his voice echoing through the quiet halls.A blonde woman stepped out from her office, lazily brushing her hair back, her eyes slightly tired. “You know you don’t have to shout my name every time you show up,” she muttered before her gaze dropped to the woman in his arms, and she froze. “Wait… what’s wrong with her?”Matteo ignored the question at first, moving straight to the bed and placing Myra down with surprising care, as though she were something fragile that might break under the slightest pressure. Only then did he look at Melissa. “Check her.”Melissa blinked, clearly caught off guard. “Brother… you’re actually asking about someone’s condition?” she teased lightly, but the look on his face wiped the smile off hers instantly.“Don’t waste my time,” he said coldly.“Alright, alright,” she muttered, raising her hands slightly before stepping forward to examine Myra properly. “What do you mean you’re withdrawing?” Alpha Ryan’s voice rose sharply as he stood from his seat, the phone clenched tightly in his hand. “We’ve already channeled a significant amount of resources into this project. You can’t just back out halfway and expect us to cover everything.”On the other end, Carl let out a soft chuckle, completely unbothered. “Your understanding seems… selective, Alpha Ryan. The Lycan Kingdom never signed a contract with you.”Ryan’s jaw tightened. “It has always been a yearly donation,” Carl continued smoothly. “How that turned into a ‘binding agreement’ on your end is quite… interesting.” Ryan’s expression darkened.“Furthermore,” Carl added, his tone sharpening slightly, “our investigations suggest that you’ve been making moves to transfer portions of the land into your personal name.”“So tell me,” Carl went on calmly, “who exactly is breaching trust here?”Ryan said nothing, but his grip on the phone tightened. “The Crimson Moon Pack is one of the richest

The wind roared in Myra’s ears as she fell, her body weightless, her mind strangely quiet, as though everything that had once hurt her had finally gone still. The pain from the broken bond lingered faintly in her chest, but even that was fading, swallowed by the emptiness consuming her. Her eyes fluttered shut as darkness rose to meet her, and for the first time in a long while, she felt nothing.Miles away, Matteo stilled abruptly, his grip tightening around the glass in his hand as something unfamiliar struck deep within him, sharp and urgent, like a pull he could neither ignore nor understand. His expression darkened as he straightened, his senses sharpening instantly. “Stop the car,” he ordered, his voice low and commanding, and the vehicle halted at once. He stepped out into the cold night air, that strange feeling intensifying, dragging him in a single direction, and without hesitation, he moved, his speed fast and inhuman as instinct took over. The closer he got, the stronger i
