I kept staring at the passage after Renaya left, following after Nick. I couldn't help but wonder what she wanted to tell him or what they could possibly be discussing or why he even left the sitting room in the first place.

Faint sounds of talking was the only thing I could make out after straining my ears for the past five minutes.

Childhood friend, huh? She's been acting all touchy and way too familiar with Nicholas and it's making my stomach ache.
