Chapter 1: The rejection.

Elena's POV“You look beautiful,” Melissa said as she finished doing my makeup, admiring the perfect job she had done on my face.“Lucan's jaw is going to drop when he sees you,” she teased and I smiled.I was beyond excited today. It was my wedding!Today I'm getting married to my childhood sweetheart, crush and mate.“You're blushing already, you haven't even seen him yet, I wonder what you are to do when he touches you.” Melissa teased again.“Melli....Stop!”“Okay, fine,” she giggled."But don't tell me you've not been thinking about what's going to happen tonight after the wedding....I know you've been waiting for this your entire life," She continued teasing me and it got my cheeks turning bright red like overripe tomatoes."You know what, I think it's time you leave, I need some alone time," I shot back at her in a serious tone, trying to hide my blush."You sure do, make sure you call me tomorrow and let me know how it went, okay? She said as she headed towards the door."Yes

Chapter 2: The Stranger

Elena's POV The forest was too quiet. No crickets. No wind. Just the sound of my heart pounding like a war drum in my chest.I don't know how long I've been running, but I know I'm close to the borders of Roseville, the most dangerous part of the city, prone to frequent rogue attacks. I had to stop because I was getting tired.Ambrose, Mum, Dad and some pack members tried reaching out to me through the mindlink but I blocked them out.I collapsed onto the forest floor, my back hitting the rough bark of a tree as the tears I’d been holding back finally broke free.A bitter laugh tore out of me between sobs. What a day indeed. My life had always been perfect, or so I thought. I am Elena Rivers. Daughter of Alpha Cade of Crescent Moon Pack—the second strongest pack in Roseville. A female Alpha. Marked by the Moon Goddess herself. Alphas had come from every corner of Roseville to ask for my hand. Powerful men. Respected men. I rejected every single one of them. For Lucan. And what did

Chapter 3: The Umbral spirit stone is missing!

Elena's POVAnother growl thundered and I knew for sure something was definitely wrong else what would make my father summon the entire pack at this time of night. “No…nothing should go wrong now, not after all that happened. Spare us Moon goddess.” I prayed silently. Taking a deep breath, I started heading to the general living room, bracing up for whatever news was to be heard.Walking down the last few steps, a deafening scream pierced my ears. “Ghost!” Latifa, a five year old Omega screamed, hugging her mother's legs, clearly frightened by the way I looked. All eyes turned to my direction.Gosh! Latifa was a sweet kid and I'm so fond of her. I never planned to scare anyone, especially my little cutie.“Elena!” My mother was the first to rush to my side. She hugged so tight I was getting short of air.“Mum…you're going to hug me to death. “I'm sorry darling”, she released me slowly. “Where were you? You blocked us out, we couldn't reach you, you hurt anywhere?” she said, her eye

Chapter 4: Suspecting Melissa

Elena's POVHis large frame filled the entire doorway; his chest heaved as he had run the whole way back. He was still in his warrior gear and there was mud on his boots. The next thing I know, he's right in front of me, engulfing me in a warm embrace. “I was so scared Lena, thought I lost you,” he said in an almost sad tone, holding me close to himself. For the first time, I felt remorse for my actions—ignoring my pack and family, putting them in worry.“I'm so sorry I blocked you all out and made you worry but I'm fine now,” I replied to him, slowly freeing myself from his tight embrace. “You don't seem fine to me, your face looks so pale,” He said gruffly, placing both arms on my shoulders, squeezing them a little bit.“I know right, it's been a hell of a day…my head is so full I don't even know what to think anymore,” I replied to him.“You don't have to feel so overwhelmed Lena, I'm here for you sis…, always, I'll never leave your side.”I couldn't hold back the wave of tears th

Chapter 5: Leaving the Kingdom PART 1

[Nicholas's POV ]I stared at the rare beauty in front of me, deep brown eyes drowning into mine like she couldn't have enough, smooth pale skin smothered with drops of water, her wet long hair clung to her skin, damn....she had only a towel on, it seemed she just came out of the bathroom. My eyes scanned her curtly, she looked a hell of a lot sexy in that towel that did no good in covering her boobs, they were poking against the fabric... unintentionally revealing their size. Kyle, my wolf licked his lips at the size and I cast him a wary glare. It was his idea that we follow her, even though I didn't agree, he dragged me here anyway.Sometimes I wonder who's in control between us—him or me?"If you keep staring at her like that, she will definitely chase us away," I growled at him."Can't help it," he retorted. "Our mate is so pretty," he continued staring at her with pure adoration. The word 'MATE' hit me harder in the face this time than it did in the forest. At all times but now

Chapter 6: Leaving the Kingdom PART 2

[Nicholas's POV ] I strode out of the room and flung the door shut with a loud bang. Her sobs followed next. For a moment, I felt regret; a part of me wanted to go back and apologize... but no!It had to stop one day and that day was today."You did the right thing," Kyle said in a reassuring tone."I know."I glanced at my wristwatch; it was 3am. Would Dorian be awake by this time? He was usually awake whenever I went to see him at unusual hours, like he always anticipated my coming.I quickened my pace, my footsteps echoing audibly behind since the whole palace was quiet.Soon I was standing in front of Dorian's chambers, I gave a slight bow to the two guards watching his chamber doors. "I came to see my master, is he awake?" I asked calmly."He woke up the moment you arrived at the palace. You can go in," one of the guards replied to me.They were the only guards I respected in the palace, because they've been nice to me since childhood."Thanks," I muttered to him, gently pushing t

CHAPTER 7: The invitation

[Third-person POV]Blackstone Pack. Luna Amira paced back and forth in the living room while Lucan sat unbothered on the sofa, sipping his morning coffee. The curtains were still drawn, making the room dim despite the morning hour. “You seem pissed, Mother,” he said in an eerily calm tone. “Who wouldn't be?” She shot back at him. “What were you thinking, uh, marking that worthless omega over Elena, and that in front of the whole city? The plan wasn't to bring shame to our pack, Lucan.”“You called my Luna worthless,” Lucan’s expression tilted, not in anger but in silent mockery. Luna Amira glared harder at him this time. “Luna, my foot! Over my dead body would I let her rule over this pack! You had better send her to the staff quarters; that's where omegas like her belong,” her voice slightly raised. A devilish grin flashed across Lucan’s face. Only if she could understand why, he thought. What was done was done. The deal has already been struck. There was no going back. “You do

CHAPTER 8: Meeting Him Again

[Elena's POV] Everyone turned to face me with questioning looks, their gazes so sharp they could slice through me.“What?” Ambrose spat out. “Are you out of your mind, Lena?” came Elijah. Mother and Sophia shot me glares. Dad stayed unusually calm, and it unsettled me the most. Would they even try to hear me out? Tell Lucan we'll be there,” I said to Seth, ignoring their comments. “Good,” his smirk grew wide, “just Elena, right?” he teased, and I scoffed. I guess this is decided then,” Seth smiled. “See you all.” He tapped Ambrose on the shoulder and left for the door. Ambrose growled at him. “Elena,” Dad breathed out my name heavily as soon as the door slammed shut. “Look, darling, I know how tough this situation might be for you emotionally, but this…”“Trust me, Dad, I know what I'm doing.” I said cutting him off. “Oh no, you don't,” Mom snapped. “Mom!”“Don't,” she pressed. “We're not attending that humiliation siege framed up as a reception party, and that's final.”“Can

CHAPTER 9: Lost Council Seat PART ONE

{ Elena's POV } I stared at the different shades of lipstick on the dressing table, unable to pick the right one that would match my outfit for tonight. Champagne red? Crimson? Hot pink? Damn! I was confused as hell. Makeup wasn't my thing. It was more of Melissa's. I rarely wore it, except on specific occasions like parties, weddings, or charity galas. Now I understand why she cared about it so much. It was funny how fast things changed.Just yesterday, around this same time, Melissa was doing my makeup. And now? She was the Luna of Blackstone pack. The exact same position I had awaited my whole life. She snatched it all away from me! But didn't stop there. She knew how important the Umbral was and the danger if it fell into wrong hands. Still, she served as an entryway to the enemy—that I'm certain. I lifted my head. The girl who stared back had this certain fire in her eyes. She was done playing small. For real this time. Picked up the champagne red LO’REAL PARIS lipstick

CHAPTER 10: LOST COUNCIL SEAT PART TWO—Nicholas Arrival.

{ Elena's POV } My world seemed to tilt as Lucan and Melissa descended the stairs arm in arm. I fought hard the tears that threatened to spill out. My gaze stayed fixed on them no matter how hard I tried to look away. My surroundings blurred—the applause, cheers, laughter; it all faded. Only the sound of my chest heaving heavily and Lia's panting remained. Lucan was clad in a black tux, as handsome as always, while Melissa wore a silver ball gown that looked similar to my wedding dress—how pathetic trying to copy me. Lucan’s head turned, and for a split second, his gaze locked on mine. Time paused, like everything stopped moving, my breath caught, a knowing smile touched his lips as if saying, ‘I knew you would come,’ then it's gone quickly. I almost convinced myself that I imagined it. He continued down the stairs, Melissa clinging to him like a second skin. My breathing was erratic. All the emotions crashed down on me at once like tidal waves—pain, anger, revenge, betrayal, and d
