The masked figure had barely lowered his hands when the attack began.

Dark energy surged from his palms and slammed into the throne behind me.

The impact was explosive.

The chamber shook violently as cracks spread across the throne’s golden veins.

The creature that knelt beside it roared furiously and attempted to intercept the energy, but the force pushed it backward into the stone pillars.

The Alpha moved instantly.

He grabbed my arm and pulled me behind him.

“Stay back!”

I did not argue.

Not because I was afraid.

But because I could feel it.

The throne was not breaking.

It was resisting.

The dark energy striking it was not destroying it it was activating something deeper.

The masked figure noticed too.

His head tilted slightly.

“Interesting,” he muttered.

He increased the output of his power.

The ground beneath us cracked wider.

Stone fragments floated into the air under the pressure of the force field expanding from his body.

The throne responded.

The symbols carved into its surface ignited brighter than before.

Then

It shifted.

The dark stone structure began dissolving slowly into liquid light.

The golden veins expanded outward and stretched across the chamber floor like roots seeking connection.

My breath caught.

“What is it doing?” the Alpha demanded.

I did not answer.

Because the sensation spreading through my body made it impossible to focus on anything else.

The throne was calling me.

Not verbally.

Not through sound.

Through resonance.

My heart beat in sync with its pulse.

The light extending from the throne moved across the ground and reached my feet.

The moment it touched me

Pain exploded through my spine.

I gasped loudly and almost collapsed.

The Alpha caught me immediately.

“What is happening to you?”

“I don’t know,” I forced out through clenched teeth.

The light wrapped around my ankles.

Then my legs.

Then my torso.

It did not burn.

It merged.

The energy seeped through my skin and flowed directly into my bloodstream.

Images flooded my mind again.

But this time they were not memories.

They were instructions.

Blueprints.

A system.

The throne was not just a seat of authority.

It was a living power structure designed to bond with a specific bloodline.

And I was being integrated into it.

The masked figure stepped back slightly.

His calm expression cracked for the first time.

“No,” he whispered.

“It should not activate that way.”

The creature behind me rose again.

But instead of attacking the masked man

It turned its massive head toward me.

Its glowing eyes scanned my body carefully.

Then it lowered itself slowly.

Submitting.

The realization hit me like lightning.

The throne was not merging with me because of force.

It was choosing.

The light climbed up my body until it reached my chest.

A burning sensation spread where the mate bond mark rested beneath my skin.

The bond reacted violently to the throne’s power.

The Alpha felt it.

His grip on me tightened instantly.

“Your pulse is unstable,” he said urgently.

“I can feel it.”

“Step away,” he ordered.

But I shook my head.

“If I move now it will break the connection.”

His eyes widened.

“Break?”

“Yes.”

And I understood something terrifying in that moment.

If the integration stopped halfway, the throne would seal itself again.

Possibly forever.

Or worse it would corrupt.

The masked figure raised his hand again.

“Stop the process!”

He fired another surge of dark energy toward the throne.

The creature intercepted it this time roaring and absorbing the impact directly into its body.

The force of the collision sent shockwaves across the chamber.

But the throne did not release me.

It pulled harder.

The silver symbols lifted from the floor and spiraled upward around my body.

They entered my skin one by one.

Each symbol fused into my power core.

Pain became unbearable.

I screamed.

The Alpha immediately wrapped both arms around me.

“I am here,” he said firmly.

“Do not let go.”

His presence grounded me.

His warmth stabilized the violent surge spreading through my veins.

The mate bond and the throne power collided inside me creating something new.

Something unified.

The symbols reached my forehead.

And when the final one merged

The chamber went silent.

The light vanished instantly.

I collapsed into the Alpha’s arms.

For a moment everything was still.

No trembling.

No roaring.

No attacking energy.

The masked figure stared at us in shock.

“That was impossible,” he muttered.

Slowly

I opened my eyes.

My vision had changed.

I could see energy patterns flowing through the room clearly.

I could see the creature’s power core.

I could see the Alpha’s aura glowing around him.

And I could see the masked figure’s dark energy leaking from cracks in his control.

The throne behind me was no longer separate.

It no longer stood as an object.

It existed inside me.

The realization hit the masked figure.

His posture stiffened.

“You merged with it.”

I pushed myself upright slowly.

“I did.”

His gaze narrowed.

“The system was designed to select not to merge permanently.”

“Then someone modified it,” I replied calmly.

His silence confirmed my suspicion.

The Alpha stepped forward beside me.

“What did you build this throne for?”

The masked figure laughed softly.

“It was meant to protect the bloodline.”

“From what?” I demanded.

“From itself.”

His answer confused everyone.

Before I could press further, the creature beside us growled loudly.

The masked figure glanced at it.

Then back at me.

“Congratulations,” he said coldly.

“You now carry the authority of the original crown.”

“But remember this.”

His eyes darkened.

“Power always attracts destruction.”

He lifted his hand.

A portal opened behind him.

“Others will feel your integration.”

“Those who want that throne.”

His body slowly dissolved into shadow.

The Alpha rushed forward attempting to stop him but the portal closed before he could reach it.

Silence returned.

We stood alone inside the vault.

Except we were not alone anymore.

The creature turned toward me.

Its glowing eyes scanned my body again.

Then it spoke through vibration.

Guardian protocol activated.

My eyes widened.

“Guardian?”

The creature lowered its massive head.

Bound to the throne bearer.

It is now bound to me.

The Alpha looked at the creature cautiously.

“Is it loyal?”

“Not to me,” I replied.

“But to the crown.”

He turned to me slowly.

“You control it?”

“Indirectly.”

The realization sank in between us.

I had not just awakened power.

I had inherited authority over a force that could defend or destroy entire territories.

The chamber doors suddenly reopened behind us.

Footsteps echoed.

More wolves entered cautiously led by council members.

They stopped abruptly when they saw the transformed throne and the creature kneeling beside me.

Their eyes shifted to my glowing presence.

One elder whispered:

“It has fully merged.”

Another stepped back in disbelief.

“Impossible…”

The Alpha straightened.

He looked at them with new confidence.

“She is no longer a candidate.”

His gaze shifted to me.

“She is the sovereign.”

The word settled heavily in the room.

Sovereign.

Power radiated calmly from my body now controlled but undeniable.

One of the council members stepped forward.

“Then you must prove stability.”

I met his gaze steadily.

“How?”

“Authority must be tested.”

He raised his hand.

Suddenly the chamber walls activated.

Symbols projected into the air forming a trial arena.

“You will face a power suppression test.”

My lips curved slightly.

They wanted to test whether the throne had overwhelmed me.

Or whether I controlled it.

The Alpha looked at me.

“Ready?”

I inhaled slowly.

“Yes.”

The symbols around me ignited again.

But this time

I did not feel pain.

I felt command.

The power obeyed my intention.

The test began.

And I realized something clearly.

This was not about survival anymore.

This was about proving to everyone including him that I was not a weapon activated by fate.

I was the one who controlled fate itself.

The power suppression test forcefully attempted to strip the throne authority from my body

But instead of weakening

My power expanded beyond the chamber.

And the entire pack territory felt it.
