Chapter 3

- POV Karen Miller

Later on that day that seemed to have no end, I finally managed to finish everything I had to do, I didn't think it would be so tiring.

Derek stopped by but didn't seem to intend to see me, he was looking for someone who he thought was Carla, I haven't questioned them yet. As it was during my office hours, I couldn't pay him enough attention, so we didn't talk much.

When I went to serve a table outside, I had time to see clearly to confirm my suspicions. Carla and Derek were having an affair, but why didn't they tell me anything? Does Agatha know anything?

...

I get home after seven o'clock, I'm tired and I just want to take a shower and sleep. Waking up early was never my strong point but over time I got used to it, it has been part of my daily routine since I was a child.

“Daughter, how are you at work?” Mom is in the room. “Did something happen there?”

Your last question is strange

“Everything is fine Mom” I sat next to her, but she didn’t make any move to hug me as usual. "Did something happen? Why the last question?”

“There is nothing daughter. I just want to know, you know why” he speaks normally.

“And is everything normal at work?” I ask, she looks a little strange.

“Yes, yes daughter. Everything is going well” She frowned slightly.

“Isn’t that good mom?”

“I don’t know, daughter.”

“Do you think he knows we’re back?”

“I’m sure so, daughter.” She doesn't finish talking.

“What is it, mom? Why do you look haggard?”

“Nothing daughter, I’m just a little worried, nothing big” I smile “Agatha said they’re going out today.”

Change the subject, I prefer to do that too, at the moment.

“Yes, but I don’t feel like going.”

“How not, daughter?”

“I don’t want to leave you here alone. And I don’t want to leave.”

“Nothing like that! You are going! You need to have fun” She stands up and pulls me.

“But Mom.”

“Without that one. You have to leave."

“I want to be with you!”

“I’ll be happy if it goes. I want to be alone for a while” I snort.

"He is well!"

...

I take a long shower and do everything I need to do, I don't know what awaits me tonight. Today I'm going to have fun, I think I deserve it. I was leaving everything clean, that's how I like it, I moisturize and focus straight away because I don't have much time. Agatha said she had an outfit for me.

She came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel, I looked at the bed and she seemed to be calling me to meet her.

I walk towards her.

"Do not even think about it!" I am interrupted by Agatha who enters my room.

"Wow! Who will be the lucky one tonight?” I praise her because she is very beautiful.

"The usual!" She rolls her eyes.

“Who’s the usual?” I ask. She hits herself on the forehead.

“You will soon find out. Now get dressed quickly, the sooner you arrive, the more time we will have to enjoy the night.”

She hands me a bag containing the clothes she chose for me.

“I hope it’s nothing too indecent.”

"That it? Since when do I use something indecent and still do it with someone?”

She looks indignant. She sometimes wears not too big clothes, at least it was like that when she lived here.

“You know, Agatha!”

“Oh!” Go get dressed soon.

...

I look in the mirror and I like what I see. She came out of my mini closet and Agatha, who until then was on her cell phone, directed her eyes to me.

“Wow, today this delay is gone for good,” says Agatha, showing a mischievous expression. “Tonight is all ours.”

I take a deep breath, expelling fear and nervousness. We left the room to meet Mom and Carla.

“My daughter is so beautiful!” she says in awe.

“I had someone to take after,” I say smiling, my mother is beautiful.

“Daughter, be careful, have fun but wisely. Just like you, Agatha, take care of my baby.”

Wise advice.

“Of course, Auntie, Karen is in great hands.”

Mom made a funny expression like someone who knows how things work in a nightclub.

“By the way, which club are we going to?”

“In one of my family, she is the best. My brother is the owner there, so the VIP area awaits us” she says excitedly.

Some minutes later.

“My brother is going to freak out!” says Agatha as we're heading to the car. We will stop by Carla's house.

“They look like twins, they look divine!” praises Derek, and smiles.

“Really,” I say.

"I have to agree. But of course, I'm prettier” laughs Agatha, and I follow her, this woman no longer thinks she is because she is just one. “Wait until you see Carla, we will be the most beautiful triplets.”

“Is she like the two of us?” I ask excitedly.

“Basically yes, the only thing that changes is the model because the details are the same. I thought about everything, I knew you wouldn’t mind.”

We set off towards Carla's house. On the way, listening to music and commenting on the men in the city, she commented a little about her brother, who I don't remember much about, as soon as I became friends with Agatha, he left for Italy. I've never seen him, not even in a photo, but Agatha always comments about it.

We caught Carla who looked like a goddess in a dress that shaped her curves. I noticed Derek's hard look at her, he didn't seem to like her clothes.

...

As soon as we arrived at our destination, the queue was huge but it was very different from anything we'd ever seen. Everything in an organized and chic way.

As expected, we entered soon. The sound of the music falls on my ears and I immediately feel a little uncomfortable with each step I take into the place. I'm not used to this.

“Karen, don’t get out of my sight,” Agatha says over the music. “There are people here, what can I say?!” He's not good-natured.

"As?" I get confused.

“Just stay close to me. Don't worry, nothing will happen. Derek is watching us” winks at me, but I was suspicious of what he said.

“I shouldn’t have come” I mutter to myself. Most of the people here seem rich, and it's no surprise since the owner is a Bennet.

“Relax, Karen, we’re safe. I only commented so as not to give confidence to any man. I'm going to get some drinks. You know” he leaves leaving me with Carla who is quieter than usual.

"Some problem?" I ask.

“No, of course not” he replies awkwardly.

"He is sure?" I insist.

“Yes, goat!” confirms, and it's strange to call me that when only Derek uses that nickname.

“You seem distant and nervous,” I say, it’s noticeable on your face.

“It’s nothing, don’t worry. How about we dance?” Change the subject, and I understand.

Agatha comes back with the drinks and takes me and Carla to dance, we go down the stairs since I don't get along very well with elevators. We enter among the others who are dancing. I decided to take advantage. I close my eyes and surrender to the beats of the music. I dance sensually, if there's one thing I know how to do, it's dance, I didn't even remember that.
