"Where are you headed?" Asher inquired, his face as serious as if I had committed a crime.

I remembered the voice that night; it was his. I was so drunk that I forgot what they did to me. Their gaze on me was intense, like they wanted to kill me that night.

I shifted backward, holding my box tightly.

They walked towards me, Rylan stretched his hands for me, to grab on it. I ignored his helping hand and held the suitcase instead, leaning on it to stand up.

Flashes of the bloody baseball bat appeared as I stared at his long hands. My vision became more vivid while looking at the same hands from that frightening night. I trembled violently, my legs shaking as I fixed my gaze on him.

That night, his strong arms lifted me onto his shoulders, as I shouted and kicked, calling him a murderer. I could not shake the image from my mind of him driving me home while I was drunk. He tossed the fried chicken from my pocket and then dropped me off at my family’s gate.

It was totally him!! He always knew where my house was!!

Is this the reason he decided to marry me? To close my mouth forever? Will they kill me because I witnessed the crime?

The smell of blood hit me hard, and I instinctively moved away from him.

“I... I’m... not going anywhere!!” I yelled, giving Asher a cold stare.

“Mind your own business!!(I snapped at Asher) "I want to wash my clothes in the laundry room." I pointed out of the door. Rylan shifted my hands and pointed them in the direction of the laundry room.

"Yes, I meant there," I said, closing my eyes in embarrassment.

He scoffed, “But there is a laundry room upstairs. "Why are you coming downstairs?"

Rylan stared at him, then at the luggage. He walked away shaking his head and Asher dragged my suitcase along.

Dragging it upstairs he screamed,”Why is this heavy? What is inside?”

“Is there a human head inside?”

I Ignored his questions, I stood watching them climb the stairs. I shifted backward, attempting to run away slowly. They stopped and turned to me.

“Aren't you coming up too?” Asher asked, his face puzzled.

“Of course I am. Or do you think I am running away?” I smiled nervously.

“Tomorrow is another day, I can run away tomorrow. He might be arrested tomorrow, maybe the police are investigating the case already. Maybe it's still early to run.” I thought deeply.

I hurried to climb the stairs, after them. Asher dragged my luggages into my room.

“You should be happy, my boss doesn't want to talk about today's event!! If not I personally would have kicked you out of this house!!” Asher snapped at me while he kicked my luggage fiercely.

“Don’t assume I’m unaware of your plans to escape!! How could you do that to your husband?” He gestured towards my face.

“who are…”

He interrupted me.

“For ruining My Boss plans, I will make sure you pay for it.” He spat and pushed me out of his way.

I struggled to stand on my feet, so I wouldn't fall on my butt again.

“You..” Before I could fight back he had already left my room.

“Such Disrespect!! Who does he think he is!!”

Why didn't Rylan get arrested? Where should I run to? They all hate me here. I guess nowhere is home for me afterall!!

I slumped to the floor, hugging my box tightly. I felt very weak to say anything, all my plans to escape got ruined. Can I really escape this marriage?

RYLAN POV

Has she recalled what happened that night? Her attitude was different this time. She seemed so scared of me this time. How do I explain things to her? Would she believe me? Her face was filled with terror. Does she now see me as a murderer?

But Aurora is so pretty; even her scared face, she still looked so lovely. Her small face, and soft plump lips.

I can't wait to have her.

My thoughts halted as I heard a knock.

“Aurora is here,” I said in my mind, as my heart jumped happily.

“Boss,” Asher called. I heard that annoying voice of Asher, I sighed. I thought Aurora would come to my room, but she didn't.

Asher rushed in , ”Sir, Are you really letting her go? She just destroyed three years of your plans? Now that bastard has your surname. Don't you think you should kick her out before she does more than this?”

“Why are you screaming? Do you want everyone to hear you?” I stared at him coldly.

"Boss, I apologize. I just felt sorry for you. You grew up around evil people, and now you are married to one of them. Sir, what if she ruins your plans? Raine plans to use her against you. Sir, we need to be cautious of her!!" Asher added, his expression grave.

“Yes, I know. She doesn't need to know that I can talk now. I don't want Raine to hear about it. Aurora isn't such a person, once she gets to know me. She won't do it again. You can go!!” I added, signaling him to leave.

He turned to leave but stopped.

“Sir, about the dead man. The case has been closed and his family carried his remains. “ Asher spoke in a sad tone.

"Should we proceed with plan two? Dylan will start working for the company soon. Now that he has the surname Blackwood, he will arrive soon."

"Tell Anne not to come to my house again. Her attitude towards my wife was very bad. I don't want it to happen again.” I ordered, signalling him to leave.

“But Sir, She is just concerned about you. You know she meant no harm.” Asher said, with a soft voice trying to convince me.

"Call my wife as you leave." I responded, ignoring his plea.

Aurora POVPain!!That was all my brain told me!It came in waves that tore through my body like fire, ripping the air from my lungs, crushing my spine, splitting me open from the inside. I screamed until my throat burned, until tears soaked my hair and the sheets beneath me.“Push, Aurora,” the doctor urged. “You’re doing well. Just breathe and push.”I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think. The only thing on my mind was how I could strangle Rylan to death if I saw him right now.My hands clawed at the bed as another contraction slammed into me, stronger than the last. I cried out, my body shaking violently as I tried to push again. It felt endless like my body had been locked in this torment forever.“Mummy…” I sobbed.Aaliyah my mum was right beside me, gripping my hand with both of hers, her face pale with fear but her voice steady. “I’m here, my baby. Look at me. You are strong. You are not alone. You are doing well. You are such a strong woman. I am proud of you.”Another scream ri

Palm trees swayed lazily above, and soft music drifted from the beach bar behind her.She looked effortless in her bikini, confidence clinging to her like perfume. For nine months now, this had been her sweet life, sun, luxury, indulgence. No worries, and no memories she couldn’t outrun.A man crouched beside her, smiling, a small bowl of grapes in his hand. He plucked a grape and leaned in, feeding it to her slowly.Rosie parted her lips, accepted it and then bit his finger lightly, teasing.“Ouch,” he laughed. “Careful, Queen Rosie, don't hurt your tooth. I will cry if you do.”She smirked, removing her sunglasses just enough to look at him.He studied her for a moment, curiosity creeping into his voice. “You know… when you left for Ireland, you were poor and broke. That you even made a fake health r

She surveyed the house slowly, committing every detail to memory.“So this is where they live?” she asked, her voice low.Nicky nodded. “Yes.”Aurora hesitated as she stepped down, her fingers curling into the fabric of her coat. “MUM… do we really have to come here?”Aaliyah turned to her daughter, cupping her face gently for just a second before her hand dropped.“Everyone who hurt you,” she said coldly, “everyone who bullied you, humiliated you. Treat you like dirt! They will pay!”Her eyes hardened.“How dare an illegitimate son’s wife treat my daughter like a thief,” Aaliyah continued. “They will all kneel and beg you for forgiveness.”At her signal, the guards moved. The gate was forced open. Tears streamed down her face as she clutched his arms. “You finally came back to me. I knew it. I knew you would come back. Now you see it, don’t you? I am better for you. Not that Aaliyah!! I am the one who belongs to you.”She laughed through her tears, hysteria lacing every word.“I’m so happy you came back for me.”My stomach turned, How shameless she was. How self depreciating she was to herself. And she is at the stage of being unstable.“I still love you, Blarke,” Raine continued desperately. “You see Dylan? I lied about him. I only said those things to make you jealous. He is my brother’s son, not mine. I never cheated on you. Never. My assistant and I..w
