Chapter 1

Bella Rhee's POV

"You seemed stressed my lady" my maid called out to me as I stared at the window

I woke up quite early but I didn't move an inch from my bed, it felt so lonely living in this big penthouse, even with numerous maids at my beck and call

"pardon my nonchalant character dear, just trying to wrap my head around some things," I said in a fine tone, accompanied by a beautiful smile

"It's all good ma'am, your room is clean, perhaps I should take my leave now" she replied

I nodded and she walked out of my room, my eyes returned to the beautiful window view from my room. I forced myself out of bed and took a warm bath before settling down to apply some make-up, but just at that moment, my phone rang.

I checked the caller ID and found out it was my secretary, she was worried that I hadn't turned up at the office early.

"Good morning ma'am, some of the investors are in your office and they are threatening to leave if you don't arrive in thirty minutes," she said with haste

my heart almost flew out of my chest, one thing I never allowed was for my investors to walk away without getting what they came for

"Keep them entertained Carol, don't let them walk out through the door, those men are the future of the company, do everything you can to keep them, I will be at the office in a few minutes," I said

"Alright ma'am, I will try everything in my power to keep them here until your arrival" she replied

I hung up the call and hastened my makeup session, couldn't lose my most valuable investors of all time. Running a tech company hadn't been easy, and being the CEO made it more frightening because I kept making decisions for the company every single day, and brought new ideas on how we could develop our tech products and make them more suitable for society.

It's one of the things that nearly made me want to step down for my younger brother to take over but the little nuisance was still in the university, studying to make my mother proud. I went down and got inside my Bentley Bentayga. I zoomed out of my house, hoping I would make it to my office before 9:30 AM, I was late and my heart was deeply troubled about it.

The road felt so free so I increased my speed a little, I was driving at a hundred kilometers per hour without fear. I did see some upcoming cars and it made me reduce my speed, my phone rang and I unplugged it to see the caller, a smile appeared on my face when I saw my boyfriend's sweet message.

I was still hooked on the beautiful text when I unconsciously left my lane, the next thing that brought me back to reality was the blaring sound from the Rolls Royce car zooming towards me at an insane speed. I tried to swerve away from him but the motorcyclist on my side prevented me so I had to take the only option of making a risky and sharp turn when close to the Rolls Royce car.

However this plan didn't go well the same way it did in my head, I swerved at the right time but I forgot that physics would fuck me up, I brushed the side of the Rolls Royce and hit the brakes as soon as possible. The other driver stopped too and as I slowly opened my door, fear engulfed my soul, I prayed silently and hoped I didn't do much damage, and I didn't mind repairing the driver's car if that was the only damage I had caused.

I walked slowly to the Rolls Royce, I checked my Rolex watch and kept track of time too, a guy dressed in a black suit stepped out from the driver's seat, he didn't mention a word to me but simply opened the back door, I was in big trouble and I could smell it. A tall muscular man in a grey suit stepped out from the back seat with his hair perfectly combed backward, his doubled cross earrings jiggled as he walked majestically to the back of the car.

I could sniff the hot perfume he used from where I stood, he had these blueish eyes that hooked my attention. I opened my mouth to say something but ended up drooling at his hot looks as they took me off guard.

"I'm so sorry sir, I didn't mean to destroy your car, I was distracted and it's entirely my fault," I said in a distorted voice

"Will you shut your shit hole!, you crashed my car and you still have the guts to speak?, your clumsy action has ruined my beautiful car and you stand here in a black suit telling me you didn't mean to destroy my car. Do you even know who I am?" he asked

I looked at his face well, I had seen him on the news and on social media too, I thought hard to remember the name and gasped for air when I finally did. He was no other person than the famous Alexander Pendragon, a man who was feared by many

"I'm sure your sick brain has told you who I am, I will make sure you pay for this you fool," he said rudely

his words ignited my anger, I could take everything but not an insult on an important day that could change my life.

"oh, I'm sorry to annoy a rude and profound psychopath like you, I can repair your car if you want but if you choose to stand here and run your mouth. Then fuck yourself amigo" I said and gave him the middle finger sign

his face showed nothing but shock, he didn't expect the kind of reply I gave to him, he probably thought I was one of those ladies who could verbally abuse. He tried to walk up to me but was stopped by a lady who came out from the back seat

"it's ok baby, she's not worth your time and anger," his female friend said and kissed his neck

they ended up kissing each other in my presence and it finally dawned on me that they were in a relationship. My eyes nearly popped out at the sight of them kissing

"you are lucky she was here to save you, thank your stars ugly bitch. My driver will get this fixed in no time, you aren't worth my time crazy bitch" Alexander said and zoomed off, moving dust particles to my face.

I have heard rumors of him having a secret lover because he acted like a man who hated women with passion on social media and the news, but never did I for once think I would witness them kiss each other in my presence.

"shit Is fucking real!" I said to myself unconsciously and zoomed off in my car, but I heard a loud burst and this made me park with speed.
