Nova's POV

The evening breeze was chilly on my skin, an odd contrast to the heat of the office that still hummed with stress after the day's chaos. The parking lot was almost vacant now.

I should've gone straight to my car.

But I didn't.

Maybe I needed a minute.

Maybe I just needed to breathe. Or maybe some part of me knew this confrontation was inevitable—had been building since the moment Jace's eyes locked with mine across the conference room this morning, widening in that split-second before his professional mask slammed back into place.

Ten hours of pretending we were strangers had left me hollow. Ten hours of watching him charm clients with that same smile that once promised me forever.

Footsteps echoed across the pavement behind me—sharp, deliberate. I didn't have to turn to know who it was. His presence hit before his voice did.

"Why the hell did you marry Levi? Did you even think about me? He's my boss for Christ's sake, how could you forget that?" He whispered harshl

Nova’s POVI couldn’t go to the office today. I just… couldn’t.The moment I stepped out of the car earlier, the whispers started again—too loud to ignore, too sharp to endure. I could feel their eyes trailing after me, cutting through me like knives. They pretended to be busy when I looked, but I saw the way they paused mid-keystroke, the way conversations abruptly ended when I passed. And I’d had enough. So I walked away.I didn’t tell anyone. I didn’t leave a message. I just slipped back into the elevator, pressed the button for the lobby, and walked out of the building like I was invisible. Now, I sat by the fogged window of a small café tucked between two boutiques in a quiet part of town. I’d found it once on accident, months ago, when Levi and I got caught in the rain during a lunch meeting and ducked into the nearest spot. We hadn’t even liked the coffee, but we’d laughed the whole time, soaked to the bone, hands clasped beneath the table like teenagers.I missed that version

Levi’s POVI barely had time to take my first sip of bitter black coffee before my phone rang. Not the office line. My personal one.I didn’t need to check the caller ID. Only one man alive had the nerve to call me this early in the morning and expect answers with nothing more than a sigh.“Grandfather.”“Levi.” His voice was sharp, measured, and instantly put my spine on alert. “Do you want to explain what in the hell is going on?”I sat back in my chair and pinched the bridge of my nose. “If this is about—”“It’s about your name being dragged across every media outlet I can find,” he cut in coldly. “And mine. The family name. Do you understand the damage this is doing?”“I’m handling it.”“Are you?” he challenged. “Because from where I’m sitting, it looks like you’ve done nothing but sulk behind closed doors while your wife is being picked apart like a carcass.”I gritted my teeth. “She lied to me.”“She had a past,” he snapped. “So did you. I don’t care if she dated the bloody fell

Nova's POVBefore daybreak, I had put on a wrinkled cream silk blouse that now stuck to my skin like a second layer of anxiety, and I hadn't even taken it off. With shaky fingers, I had pulled my hair into a sloppy bun, but it was now escaping. The kind of unrelenting tears that leave your face raw and swollen caused my eyes to boil. But my appearance didn't matter to me.I needed to see him.For what seemed like hours but was really just minutes, I stood still in the silence Levi left behind after he departed that morning. His fragrance and the faint traces of his sandalwood shampoo were still present in the bathroom air, and his scent hung in the room like a ghost. Every breath made me realize how far he had already gone and how totally he had cut himself off from me in only one talk.I had attempted to call his phone. Directly to voicemail, tried sending a text. The messages appeared to have been delivered but not read, which felt worse than if they had been completely disregard

  • Married To His Billionaire Boss   Chapter 86

Nova's POVThe front door clicked open at 6:03 AM. I knew because I had been watching the clock for the last three hours, curled up on the couch with my arms wrapped tightly around a pillow that still smelled faintly like him. I had not slept. I could not. Not after what happened. Not after that awful video dropped and shattered the last piece of peace we had managed to rebuild. The notification had come out of nowhere. The link that followed led to a blurry recording from years ago, one I had forgotten existed until it was splashed across social media like red wine on white silk. My stomach dropped so fast I thought I might be sick right there on the Persian rug we picked out together last month. The comments were cruel. The shares were climbing every minute. And somewhere across the city, I knew Levi was seeing it too.My legs moved before my brain could catch up. I rushed to the hallway in time, just to see how he walked in, Levi. His coat was wet from the morning mist, his dark

Levi’s POV Naomi?I narrowed my eyes, every instinct I'd honed in years of business dealings suddenly screaming danger. "What's that supposed to mean?"Her next words were calculated. Deliberate. Delivered with the precision of someone who'd been planning this moment for a long time."Naomi was right about you. You've always been so good at seeing through people—reading their motives, understanding their games, staying ten steps ahead of everyone else. Just not the ones closest to you. Not the ones you sleep next to."And just like that, everything slowed. The casual drop of Naomi's name in this exact context. The smugness radiating from every pore. The timing of it all—showing up here, tonight, when I was at my most vulnerable. When my world had just exploded and I was picking through the debris. This wasn't coincidence. This wasn't opportunism. This was orchestration."You've been talking to Naomi?" I asked, my voice low and deadly, the temperature in the room seeming to drop ten d

  • Married To His Billionaire Boss   Chapter 86

Levi's POVI was halfway to the door when the lights flickered across the floor, catching movement near the entrance of my office. At first, I thought it might be a guard or someone from cleaning services—though even that would be unusual at this hour. The building was supposed to be locked down, accessible only to those with the highest security clearance. But then I heard the voice."Surprise."The single word sliced through the silence like a blade, familiar and unwelcome in equal measure.I froze. There, standing with a glint of something too smug in her eyes and too red on her lips, was Felicia. She looked exactly as I remembered her from our worst moments together—perfectly put together on the surface, rotten underneath. Like a beautiful apple with a worm at its core.I stared at her like she'd just crawled out of a nightmare, which, in a way, she had."What the hell are you doing here?"The question came out rougher than I intended, but I was too tired and too raw for pleasan
