“And who the hell do you think you are?” the woman snarled, her eyes fixed on Jane.

“Fiona,” Liam said, grabbing her waist. He gave her a peck on the cheek before turning to Jane and saying, “Give us a moment, Fiona.”

Liam released Fiona’s waist and strode towards Jane, grasping her wrist and pulling her aside.

“I had forgotten to mention that my girlfriend, Fiona Cross would be joining us. I expect you to treat her with respect and keep your distance,” Liam warned, his frown deepening as he ran his hands through his disheveled hair.

Jane let out a disbelieving sigh before speaking up, “I can’t believe you Liam. I am married to you. As fake as our marriage may be, I didn’t expect you to bring your girlfriend here and jeopardize our entire arrangement. We’re supposed to pretend to be a happy couple, how would that happen when you have her in your arms,” Jane replied, her frustration palpable.

Tolerating Liam was one thing, but his girlfriend and family were a different story alt

Although he was aware it was fairly early for dinner, Liam found himself setting up a table and straightening the lanterns he had placed by hand around the room. Why was he nervous? He already guessed why. For the first time ever, he wanted to impress his wife, Jane. Earlier that evening, Liam had prepared every dish he knew and was sure Jane would like. Recently, the thought that he barely did anything for the woman he was slowly obsessing over disturbed him a bit. Throwing away caution on his feelings, he knew it was time to act. After arranging the table cloth for what felt like the hundredth time, Liam looked up the stairs, his heart beat gradually increasing as he anticipated Jane's arrival. The soft flop of slippers on tiles filled the room and Liam turned to face the staircase, descending was Jane. She looked just as stunning as Liam had always found her. Her short hair was tied to a small ponytail and she was in a casual but lovely lilac dress. Liam watched Jane's e

  • Married To My Arrogant Boss   CHAPTER THIRTY ONE:

The blazing sun shone down as a black Mercedes pulled in reverse and carefully parked in the empty parking lot. The driver killed the engine before opening the door and stepping out of the luxury vehicle. It was Fiona. As always, Fiona looked beautiful. She had on a scarf and sun shades to avoid being recognized. Raising her hand and checking the time, she noticed she was over fifteen minutes late for her shoot but she was barely worried. Fiona was on a mission. She had to get something done immediately and done fast. Turning away, her heels clicked on the pavement as she walked into the private restaurant. Stepping inside, she approached the counter, “I have a reservation,” Fiona said to the restaurant employee. The woman turned to Fiona and flashed a small smile, “Welcome. Name please,” she said. “Fiona Cross,” Fiona responded. The lady typed into her computer, then turned back to Fiona, handing her a card. “Seat 4A. I’ll show you to your table,” the cashier said, "

Jane blinked, trying to remain calm and indifferent as her heart shuddered inn her chest. “What do you mean?” Jane asked, carefully scanning Erica’s face. Erica simply sighed, reaching for the glass of water on the table, “I shouldn’t have said that, forget I did.” She said quietly. Jane narrowed her eyes. “Erica…”“I mean it, Jane. Just… don’t mind me.” Erica replied, brushing it off with an awkward laugh. Jane didn’t press further–for now. But she knew damn well she wasn’t going to forget either. Erica’s words had finally confirmed something was going on. ~~~It was early evening and the skies overheard darkened as the clouds rolled in. Jane hit the accelerator, her mind racing, unsure on what to think. She and Erica had a good time and Jane was beyond grateful for the time they had spent together. Even though Erica tried to brush it off, her words continued to ring at the back of Jane's mind. Was Erica referring to the picture she had seen? Jane suspected there was mor

  • Married To My Arrogant Boss   CHAPTER TWENTY NINE:

Jane stood unmoving, still staring at the picture in shock. Her eyes moved from the one she guessed was Liam to the other person. They looked exactly the same. The same facial expression, the same face, smile and eyes. The resemblance between the two was uncanny and even she couldn’t tell who her husband was. Her hold on the frame tightened as her thoughts began to race. Could it be a twin? A brother? She wondered why Liam had never mentioned it. As far as she knew, Liam was the only son. That was exactly what her dad had said to her too. “What are you doing?” Jane jumped, startled by the sound of Liam’s voice. The frame slipped from her hand and hit the floor, the glass shattering into pieces. “Oh my God, uh…” Jane muttered, panicking as she bent to to gather the pieces. “I don’t remember giving you permission to rummage through my things Jane,” Liam said, walking over r to her and staring down at her with a deep frown. “I…I’m sorry. I…” Jane stammered, still shaken that

  • Married To My Arrogant Boss   CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT:

Rainwater continued to beat against the closed windows as the sounds of storm and rain filled the kitchen. Jane had a drink in one hand and her phone in the other, staring out the clouded window, lost in thought. Work that day had been hectic for Jane and she had come back home with hope to speak with Liam. Not just to fish information about the state of his company or the discussions she had overheard during their trip, but just to… speak with him. Jane had to admit, she was beginning to get used to having Liam around. Tonight, Liam wasn’t home. Perry had informed Jane about the message he left earlier.. It was now past midnight, but he still hadn’t returned. She had no idea what to make of it. Trying not to worry too much seemed futile because couldn’t help it. Unless… “Fiona,” Jane finally muttered. It made some sense now. Liam could be out there having a good time with his ‘girlfriend’, while she stayed home worried about him. “Silly me,” Jane let out a breathy chuc

  • Married To My Arrogant Boss   CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN:

The journey to Fiona’s penthouse was a short one. By the time Liam arrived, it was ten minutes past eight and he hoped Fiona wasn’t going to go crazy on him. With the events going on in his company, he hoped she’d be a bit considerate. But once again, he was wrong. Immediately Liam swiped his key card to her apartment and got in, a vase was hurled at him, aiming for his head. He was quick enough to move to the side, and the vase smashed into the door, shattering to pieces. “You’re late,” Fiona said calmly, as if she had not just aimed to smash his skull. Luckily, Liam was partly used to this already, “I’m sorry babe. My day was more hectic than I expected.” “Of course. It was hectic because you spent your time cuddling with that bitch!” “Watch your mouth, Fiona. You will not speak about Jane in that manner,” Liam warned. He had tried to be calm and treat Fiona with the affection she deserved, but what she wasn’t going to do was speak about Jane. Liam had no idea why h
