“Just forget about Derek. Welcome to my humble abode. Would you like me to get you something to drink?” George forced a smile to make Kelly forget about the issue.

He proceeds to call Dave. “ Hey, Dave. Go get my friend a glass of red wine. Make it snappy. He is my best friend. I wouldn't want you to keep him waiting for too long,”

“No, please wait.

I don't need anything for now.

I didn't come here to be entertained,” Kelly hurriedly stopped Dave just as the latter was about to leave.

“Dave, you just heard from my friend.

You can now head back to your duty post. Don't return until your name is heard,” George ordered as he dismissed Dave, leaving him alone with Kelly.

“What took you so long to show up? I was worried that you were never going to make it here,” George asked Kelly as they both sat down after a handshake.

Kelly nodded sideways in pity. He wasn't looking happy, and George could tell that it had nothing to do with Derek.

“Kelly, what's the issue? It's your daughter,

“I just got a text that my daughter has been abducted,” Kelly revealed with trembling lips. He had lost total control of himself. He wasn't conscious of what was happening around him anymore. He never felt the same again. It was as though a part of his body had been taken away from him. “Ciara has been abducted? How's that even possible?” George became furious and confused. He didn't even know how to approach the situation. “See this,” Kelly said as he handed the phone to George. His lips were too heavy to be moved. He figured it would make so much sense if George could read the text himself. “We have your daughter. If you want to see her again, you have to cough out fifty thousand dollars,” George read the texts to everyone present in the ward. “This is nonsense. We need to involve the police immediately,” Dexter fumed. That was the first time he ever spoke since Kelly received the disturbing texts. The only people who didn't participate in the discourse were Nancy and R

“Your son has been taken to the theatre room for an emergency operation,” Dexter disclosed to the surprise of everyone. “What did you just say?” Nancy asked in the utmost shock. Everyone focused their attention on Dexter as though he were delivering a stage play. “And how did you know? Why are you the one to talk about it? I mean, the doctor hasn't said anything yet,” Romeo chimed in from the sick bed The confession from Dexter gave the doctor a breathing space as Nancy left him and moved a bit closer to Dexter. She considered him her next target if he didn't speak up immediately. Right, according to everyone, George gave Dexter a pat on the shoulder, saying, “I'm proud of you, son. How did you know what I was thinking about?” “Well, I must say I learned from the very best. You taught me well, Dad,” Dexter giggled. The conversation between father and son didn't seem to be acceptable to Nancy and Romeo. They were upset that Dexter and George were making a fool of the situatio

“I'm George Cooper, the man you saved at the mall years ago when someone planted a bomb inside my car,” George narrated as he refreshed Nancy's memories. He took his time to explain to avoid getting on her last nerves. He knew that she wouldn't hesitate to report him to the doctor should he continue to create more suspense out of nothing. “Please hold on a second. I need to think. I am still not certain about a couple of things right now,” Nancy pleaded. Events from the past were beginning to return to her head, but she couldn't seem to figure that right one out. She stood up and strolled around while her hands were positioned behind her. Suddenly, she stopped and snapped her hands. “Now I remember,” Upon hearing her voice, George was relieved. He was already sick and tired of explaining himself to Nancy just to prove a point. And that's one thing he hated the most. “I remember you offered me a thousand dollars for saving your life, which I rejected. Goodness, me! How time

“Your son has got a hole in his heart.” The doctor unleashed the bombshell that nearly destroyed Romeo's eardrums. He stayed quiet and pretended as though he didn't hear the doctor speak. He was trying to convince himself that nothing was real but just a dream. However, he received another shock when the doctor revealed that Romeo's son might die if an operation isn't carried out in the next forty-eight hours Upon hearing this, Romeo collapsed to the ground and was rushed to the ward where his son was admitted.“Romeo, is that you?” His wife uttered the moment Romeo was rushed to the ward. She couldn't believe her eyes. She wasn't even aware that Romeo had shown up in the hospital. “Please stay back, madam. We don't want you getting closer to him. We'd do our best to revive him,” The doctor pleaded when he saw Romeo's wife edging closer. Without being told, he knew it wasn't a good sign “What happened to my husband and why was he rushed in here?” Nancy asked. The question s

“I just got a call from the hospital that my son has been hospitalized,” Romeo disclosed as tiny tears dropped from his eyes. He could barely even speak properly. How he managed to complete his utterances remained a mystery to him. “This is crazy, I must say. What sort of disturbing news is that? Why was he rushed to the hospital?” Kelly asked as they all seemed shocked. “This isn't the time for questions,” George stepped in “We can see that Romeo isn't in the right frame of mind to speak up. Don't put too much pressure on him, especially in a critical situation like this. We need to drive straight to the hospital immediately,” George added. He made the first move outside and everyone followed his lead.As they arrived at the car, George instructed Romeo to sit next to him in the front. “You know the address of the hospital, don't you? You're going to lead the way,”Kelly and Dexter didn't argue about George's decision because they already knew what was at stake, and they would

Dexter opted against sitting in the front, just so he could have the opportunity to have a conversation with Romeo. For all the years he had existed on Earth, he hadn't witnessed someone like Romeo before. Romeo did to Dexter what no one had ever done to him before. And to think that Romeo and Dexter aren't even related at all. Dexter kept staring at Romeo as tears dropped from his eyes. Those were tears of joy.He had a thousand things to say to Romeo, but the problem was the approach. The words suddenly became too heavy to emerge from his mouth. “Hey, don't mention. I did it for humanity,” Romeo uttered just before Dexter could express his heartfelt gratitude. It was strange how Romeo could read Dexter's thoughts and figure out his next action. “Who are you? I need to meet your wife if you're married,” Dexter pleaded. It became too obvious that he wanted to start a friendship with Romeo. He just didn't know the right way to ask. “You want to meet with my family?” Romeo ask
