Hard Time Breaking The News

"I sincerely apologize for barging Inside the ward like that. I should have knocked first before thinking of coming inside. This is definitely a bad time to be here, I guess," Nurse Olivia freaked out like a toddler. She saw death and life flashed right across her face. 

For a moment, she thought she was never gonna survive the last few seconds inside the ward. Her forehead was sweaty despite the air-conditioner being turned on

The terrifying look from doctor Escobar further complicated Olivia's situation. That was the moment she wished she possessed some supernatural powers. 

Perhaps, she would have vanished into thin air and save herself from the impending torture that awaits her. 

It would have been better if it was just George in the ward. With the presence of doctor Escobar, speaking up might be a major concern for Olivia 

Few minutes have passed and no one has said a word yet. Not even doctor Escobar, Kelly or George. They all waited for her to speak up first. They knew that she wouldn't rush into the ward for no reason.

"Are we gonna stay like this all day without speaking? For once, I forgot that our vocal cords were still intact. Can someone please say something?" Kelly broke the silence. He was the first to speak. He suddenly took doctor Escobar's place.

Olivia might not be free from the tension, but she was relieved a bit because it was Kelly that spoke first and not Doctor Escobar. Deep down, she wished that Doctor Escobar would remain quiet until she's out of the ward.

Itching her head like a lost hen, Olivia lied and tried to change the topic. "Mr. Cooper, how are you feeling now? No need to ask. I can see that you're getting better already. It's written over your face. It's good to see you in this shape,"

Bewildered, George glared at Doctor Escobar and asked him. "What is she talking about? Is she okay? She doesn't seem right to me. Why is she suddenly patronizing me? I barely even spoke to her since I got admitted to your hospital. I just hope it's not what I'm thinking right now?"

Nurse Olivia's plan didn't walk out as she had planned. George turned out to be a harder nut to crack than she least expected. She thought he was gonna be a walk in the park. 

To think that Doctor Escobar hasn't said a word yet. Olivia can't imagine how her situation would be when he eventually decides to chip in

"I am equally confused as you are.

The last time I checked, we were all here when she came in. It's not as though I had a secret conversation with her before she came in," doctor Escobar gave a cold response. 

Narrowing his gaze to Olivia, he asked. "What is going on here? I don't wanna believe that you just came to ask about Mr. Cooper's health. Start talking immediately,"

That was the moment Olivia had avoided all her life. Now she is stuck in between figuring out the perfect response for Doctor Escobar's question.

Her legs were shaking on the ground. She could barely feel them anymore. Her lips were sealed, too.

 She knew exactly what to say but wasn't sure how to present them to avoid getting on Doctor Escobar's last nerves. Unknown to Olivia, her silence is already causing problems for her.

 She knew for sure that Doctor Escobar dislikes being kept waiting for too long and that's exactly what she was doing.

"Are you gonna speak already? We were in the middle of something before you showed up and ruined it. Now you've made it worse by keeping us quiet, making it seem like we aren't speaking to anyone," Doctor Escobar ranted. It wasn't his intention to yell at Olivia in such a manner. 

Nonetheless, he had no choice. Olivia's reluctance to speak was messing with his head and he couldn't handle it anymore..

"Did y'all hear some noises from the reception?" Olivia hurriedly spoke. That Wasn't the question on her mind. She just said that to be free from Doctor Escobar's rage.

 With such an attitude, it was only a matter of time before Doctor Escobar got so mad and hit her the same way Dexter did to nurse Elizabeth. Olivia saw how terrible Elizabeth's face was. She would rather not end like that.

As the heated moment ensued, Kelly's phone rang which caused a major distraction 

At that moment, Olivia became the happiest woman on earth. The distraction was exactly what she craved for. She knew that before Kelly was done taking the calls, Doctor Escobar's anger might have subdued.

You got a call. 

Aren't you gonna answer the phone?" Doctor Escobar asked Kelly when he saw how reluctant was towards his phone ringing. He wasn't even bothered to check who was calling him. All he cared about was finding out what Olivia wanted to say. Aside from that, Nothing else ever mattered to him.

Olivia frowned.

Her hopes were slowly becoming a thing of the past. Inside of her, she was pleading and praying for Kelly to answer the phone. Too bad, he couldn't read her mind to know what her thoughts were.

Not to worry.

I don't think the call is important. I guess your nurse might have some piece of information for us," unbothered, Kelly answered. 

The more he ignored the phone, it kept coming.

"So what now?

Are you gonna ignore this one now?" Doctor Escobar glared at Kelly. He folded his arms to find out what decision Kelly was gonna take this time. 

"Fine! You win.

I am gonna find out," Kelly gave up acting tough. 

 That was the moment Kelly decided he was gonna find out who was calling. 

"Shit! It's my daughter, Ciara," 

Kelly said after checking his phone. 

"Told you to answer the phone. That was how you were gonna miss it. You need privacy to answer the phone, don't you?" Escobar suggested.

"Of course, I will. 

Please give me a moment outside," 

Kelly sought permission.
