DENVER'S POVI saw it first. "The Chadwick brothers on a gaming collaboration come 2026."The first thought that came to mind was, "What the hell did Gia do?" and then I proceeded to pick my phone up to call her. She however came running into my hospital room almost immediately. "Denver, what's going on?" When I saw the hysteria on her face I knew immediately that it wasn't her. She has absolutely no hand in this. So who is it?"I should be asking what's going on. I put you in charge of advertising!" She lowers her lashes and sighs, "Your girl Neriah went ahead to do it before I could arrive at the office." Neriah? Neriah?"Neriah did this?" I can't control the bubble of rage building in my chest at the thought. If anyone, she should have known better. She knows exactly why this is so delicate and she was here when I have the instruction. "Why didn't you tell me?" I ask, turning to Gia. "I didn't know what she told advertising. Mark just called to tell me that she came around and
LAURA'S POV The orphanage is a small, cozy place. If the ledger is here I can imagine why Liam would choose it. This is the last place any suspecting folk would search when looking for something of such importance. It looks like a well rejuvenated farm house, with picket fences and a well mowed lawn. There's just one paved walkway and that's where I walk through, my leather jacket flowing behind me. The small house has recently been painted a bright mint color, and the flowers in the vase by the door are fresh. They're really looking after the place. I can already hear the chatter of kids before I knock. I hate the lousiness and I hope this can be as quick as possible. A round, pink faced lady answers the door when I ring the doorbell. She looks out of breath, but she maintains the big smile on her face, breathing mostly through her mouth. "Hello ma'am. How can I help you today?" Three kids shriek, running towards the door. She turns around, "Kylie, Julie..no!" More shrieks.
NERIAH'S POV Rainbows. The last time I saw one, I was, say, ten? I remember that my left molar had gone out the night before and I cried myself to sleep because Laura had said the tooth fairy wasn't real and instead a mouse was going to steal my teeth, making me ugly forever. Silly of me to have actually believed something like that. But could you blame me? I was only a.kid. The following morning it rained heavily and when I left the house that morning to school, I saw it in the sky. The upturned areay of colors like we were taught in school. I didn't see the indigo and violet but there was red, orange, yellow amd blue. Those are ones of the memories that I've refused to outgrow. I saw a rainbow when I stepped out to pick some flowers for Denver and got reminded of that memory. It's sitting there prettily, shining it's rays of hope over my house. For a long time I stared at it, dandelions in my hands, then I took my phone out and took a picture of it. My eyes had fallen on Ede
DENVER'S POV I don't have a reason to not like Myles Maverick. Not after what Neriah just told me. "He's serious about helping you get your revenge. You're one lucky woman." I say as Ethan unloads the fruits he got me onto a paper plate. My mouth's already watering from the colorful sight of red apples, pears and bananas. "I know, right? This is the ultimate plan to bringing Liam down. If we create his designs and his audience love them, we can decide to pull out of the market one day."Mmmm...that sounds like a genius plan. "Yeah. Or we can sell inferior designs to him and then supply a rival company with the amazing designs." Neriah claps excitedly, "Yes. We could do that too!" A smile tugs at the corners of my lips. Seeing her acting so babyish is definitely a form of therapy in itself. I've never seen her so happy. She too did something to her hair. Again. I kind of liked the red on her. With this black hair she lo
LAURA'S POV I never thought there was a day when I'd crave Montero's company over Liam's but here I am. Montero's pouring another glass of beer and I'm lying here convincing myself that I don't need to feel guilty for what I've done. Liam pushed me to do this. It's all his fault. Montero turns around and hands me the glass then put the rim of the bottle to his mouth. "What's going on? Having marital issues already?" I want to ignore that question because it sounds like mockery but I need to vent. I feel like I'm going crazy."That man drives me mad." I finally say. Montero clicks his tongue and picks out a stick of cigarette from his drawer. His place is nice with a spacious kitchen and bathroom in the room itself and a nice, cold, swimming pool just opposite the porch. Every place in Liam's villa is a touch of heaven...even the staff apartments. The interior is painted in a plain white color with black designs across the walls. It had even been furnished with a large bed, fluf
NERIAH'S POV Finally, Ethan decided to pick up. "Where the hell have you been? I've been trying to reach you for the past two days! I came over to the manor but I didn't find you or anyone who could give me important information there." The line distorts a little then I can hear his voice. "Miss Chadwick, I'm sorry. There's been a lot of chaos and I only got the time to get myself together. Mr Chadwick was been moved to a hospital. He came down with a really bad fever that morning and had to be rushed."Denver told me all of that. I need to know how he's doing right now and also break the news of the contract with Myles to him. "I know he was taken to a hospital. He told me. Where is he and how is he?""I heard he's gained consciousness...."My eyes widen and my heartbeat doubles. "He lost consciousness?" "Yes, he did. I came home to get a few supplies. You can meet me here so we go over to the hospital together.""Oh Ethan, you're a darling." I click the line off immediately and
