Mia's POV:
A few weeks had passed since Melanie showed me around the luxurious orphanage. Life had settled into a comfortable routine, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. But little did I know that a thrilling event was about to unfold.
One day, an announcement echoed through the halls of the orphanage. The annual festival was just around the corner, and this year, it was going to be extra special. The festival was dedicated to entertaining the members of the Moonclaw Pack and the Silver Pack.
The invitations were sent out, and the buzz of anticipation filled the air. But the news that sent everyone into a frenzy was that the Triplets Alphas was going to grace the orphanage with their presence at the festival.
With the festival just two days away, everyone was in a rush to make preparations. The orphanage was abuzz with activity, as decorations were hung, stages were set up, and mouthwatering aromas wafted from the kitchen. The children were all excited, running around with smiles on their faces, eager to be a part of this grand event.
But amidst all the hustle and bustle, there was one person who seemed completely unfazed by the commotion. That person was me. While everyone else was frantically preparing, I continued with my usual routine, taking care of the children and ensuring their well-being.
You see, I've always believed that true happiness lies in the simple moments, the everyday interactions that make a difference. So, instead of getting caught up in the frenzy, I focused on providing a sense of stability and love for the children. I played with them, read them stories, and made sure they felt safe and cared for.
I didn't care about whatever Alphas were coming, all i cared about was my job.
Whether triplets or twins, it had absolutely nothing to do with me.
As the festival drew nearer, I couldn't help but notice the excitement building up around me. The children were practicing their performances, the staff was putting the final touches on the decorations, and the anticipation in the air was palpable. It was contagious, and even I couldn't help but feel weird that all these was because of some three werewolves coming for the festival.
I even concluded that I wouldn't he in this damn festival.
Melanie caught me sitting peacefully, engrossed in a book while the preparations for the festival were in full swing.
She already knew my lack of interest in whatever preparations they were making, but she still wouldn't let me be.
With a perplexed expression on her face, Melanie approached me, annoyance evident in her voice. She questioned me, her frustration seeping through her words. "Mia, seriously? How can you just sit there reading a book while everyone else is running around like headless chickens? Don't you care about the preparations? The Triplets Alphas are coming, for goodness' sake!"
I looked up from my book, a mischievous smile playing on my lips. "Melanie, leave me alone. I have my reasons," I replied, my voice laced with nonchalance. "You see, I have mastered the art of zen-like tranquility. While others are stressing over the decorations and the grandeur, I have chosen to embrace the calmness within. I'm like a serene lake amidst a stormy sea."
Melanie's eyes widened in disbelief. "Are you serious, Mia? The Triplets Alphas are coming, and you're talking about serenity? This is a once-in-a-lifetime event! We need to make it perfect!"
I chuckled softly, my eyes twinkling with amusement. "Ah, perfection is overrated. Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, and sometimes, it's the imperfections that make it truly memorable. Besides, I have a secret to share with you. I won't even be at the party that day"
Melanie's jaw dropped, her frustration turning into utter bewilderment. "Wait, what? You won't be at the party? But why?"
I shrugged, "cause I'm not interested"
Melanie blinked in bewilderment, "the triplets are coming!"
"So what?! What has the triplets hot to do with me?!"
She rolled her eyes, "I want you to meet them!"
"What for?!" I was getting frustration.
Just what did I do to get Melanie.
'I think she is right, you have to meet your bosses at least' Cassey chimed in and I rolled my eyes.
"Shut the fuck up" I scolded, "I'm not interested in meeting anyone as besides, to he Silver pack are coming. There is a 90 percent chance that Hudson would be there and I just don't want to reopen any old wounds!" I yell in anger and stood up to leave.
My work shift had ended by the way.
As I left the orphanage, The anticipation of the festival filled the air, but deep down, I knew that attending it might not turn out well for me.
The mere thought of Hudson, being present because of the Silver Pack's arrival sent shivers down my spine. I didn't want to face him and reopen the wounds that had barely healed.
In the midst of my sadness, Cassey, always foul-mouthed, decided to speak to me.
She reminded me not to dwell on that scum of a husband and to focus on the present instead. "Mia, girl, I get it. Hudson was a piece of garbage, but you can't let him ruin your happiness. Don't let thoughts of him hold you back from enjoying the festival. You deserve to have some fun, damn it!"
Her words resonated with me, but I couldn't shake off the hesitation that consumed me. "Cassey, I know you're right, but it's easier said than done. The wounds he left behind are still fresh, and I fear that seeing him again will only reopen them. I don't know if I can handle that pain all over again."
Cassey let out a huff of frustration. "Mia, listen to me. You are stronger than you think. You've already come so far, and this festival is an opportunity for you to embrace your newfound independence. Don't let the past define you. You deserve happiness, and you won't find it by hiding away. You deserve to also see this Triplets Mela spoke about!"
I chuckled at the last part as I unlocked the front door and stepped in. Her words touched my soul, and I felt a flicker of courage ignite within me. "You're right. I can't let fear dictate my actions. I need to face my past head-on and show Hudson that I've moved on, that I'm stronger without him. I won't let him have power over me anymore."
Cassey purred in response happily. "That's the spirit, Mia! You've got this. Remember, I'll be right by your side, ready to unleash some wolfy sass if he dares to cross your path. Alright?!"
"Alright"
Author's POV:The proposal party was incredible. They danced and celebrated the fact that Mia was getting married to her second chance mates.Mia was filled with bubbly excited energy. She was getting married again. Her children wouldn't be born out of wedlock. They would have fathers to lead them. They would have Zayn and Talia to look up to. Melanie, to lean on when she wasn't there. She felt so lucky. The wedding happened in a month. It was held in the mansion. The whole thing: cheers, the overarching arch of flowers, the food, the live music, everything was done outside. As Mia requested.Mia smoothened her dress for the umpteenth time, looking at the mirror anxiously. From here, she could hear the small chatter happening outside. Soft music was being played by a pianist. There was a knock on the door before Felicity stuck her head in the room. “Are you ready?” she asked.Mia turned to look at her, the panic in her eyes enough to give Felicity pause. She walked into the room weari
Mia's POV:I couldn't believe that I was sneaking into a high school. The police officer I'd taken with me didn't blare his sirens. He didn't want to alert Darlington and his friends before we came to grab them.We snuck in by climbing over the fence. We walked to the school gymnasium. Zayn was waiting outside. He showed us the secret entrance.“They're inside,” he whispered.“Go,” I said, “I don't want him to know that you work for me.”Zayn nodded. “You better give me a breakdown of what happens here when you get home, ‘Mom’.” He'd been teasing me since I got back, calling me mum. As were about to go from a family of three to a family of six. And including Melanie, oof.I walked into the place and heard them talking. “Darlington,” I called. He froze and when he turned, he saw that it was me and he deflated in his seat. “Fck.” He said. “I didn't think you would come.”“Of course you didn't.” The cop had given me handcuffs so, I went over and handcuffed Darlington. The cop arrested th
Author's POV:Mia's phone was buzzing. She turned under the sheets, looking for it. She found it on the bedside table. It was Zayn.“Shit.” She said, answering it. “Hey, Zayn? What's up?” she rubbed the stress off of her face, looking at the time.“What's up? I've been calling you for the past ten minutes.” Zayn said sounding annoyed.“I'm sorry. I got… distracted.” She said, just as Jaxon's hand rested on her waist. She didn't want her voice to give off whatever had just passed between her and Jaxon. “Did something happen?”“Did something happen? Really?” he repeated incredulously. “Oh, I don't know. You sent me to go after your new golden mentee and now I'm here to tell you that they found a secret locker room and they're doing crack.”“What?” I shrieked, sitting up. Jaxon was alert next to me. “Are you serious?” I couldn't believe that he was doing drugs. That was harder to control.“Well, no. Because I don't know what they're doing right now since I'm stuck outside. Unless you wa
Author's POV:William gave Mia one last look before he turned, returning to the line of guards waiting for him. They let him walk past them before they turned. They all left before the Triplets turned to look at Mia.“Welcome home, Mia.” They said before hugging her individually.Moa felt whole again. She was back where she belonged, with people that she could call family. They were her pride and rock. She knew that she wouldn't be able to do life without them. She was grateful for Zayn and Talia, Melanie, Felicity, and the Triplets. She was extremely grateful for life. And for her baby. She was hopeful. Life was only going to get better from now on. She only just had to believe it.***A few weeks later…The mansion was slightly busy with workers moving up and down. They were mostly going to meet Mia for instructions.“Can we have the painter up over here? I need to have him work on the nursery.” Mia said to her assistant. The woman nodded, taking notes.Mia was already four months p
Author's POV:For the next few days, Mia and William got to know each other. Mia's door was no longer locked and she could roam around the building for as long as she wanted. She found out that this used to be the old pack house. It explained the many rooms. But, what she didn't understand was the fact that there were so many hallways. The packed house was built more like a maze than a shelter. It was easy to get turned around in a place like this.William wasn't that bad now that they were getting to know each other as siblings. William expressed his regrets for trying to separate her from her mates. Mia told him that mistakes happened and it was fine as long as he atoned for it.He reintroduced Mia to everyone in the pack as his long-lost sister. His younger sister who was still a part of the pack was happy to see William reunited with his real family.William finally sent the missive to the Triplets. He had agreed that he and Mia would spend a few days together before he sent her b
Author's POV:It had been five days since Mia last saw William. Five days since he tore open her blouse and stumbled out of the room. She didn't know what had made him back off but she thanked the goddess that he'd left. What worried her now was when he would be back for another ‘taste.’She walked over to the window and looked outside. There had to be a way for her to escape. Maybe she could somehow break the bars. But she knew it would be impossible. Even if she managed to break the bars, she could jump from the second floor. Not in her condition. She put a hand over her stomach. She needed to get out of her to safeguard her baby. What if William decided that he wanted to get rid of the baby? What would she do then? The door unlocked and Mia turned sharply to look at it. She caught his scent before she saw him. She grabbed a fork, holding it.“Stay away from me,” she said, not waiting for whatever it was he wanted to say or do. She contemplated running towards him and trying to get
