Daniel’s POV

It wasn’t until I walked into Vincent’s hospital room that the seriousness of the situation hit me. To my utter shame, it was the first time I was visiting him in person. I knew from the beginning that he was suffering from some kind of fatal illness but I never really bothered to go in depth. In my arrogant mind, I had always considered his medical condition a sham that his daughter used to marry a billionaire.

I couldn’t be more wrong.

Nathan greeted me with a dull face. I squeezed his shoulder as a gesture of gratitude for being there for Lily in my absence.
