Chapter Forty Eight

"More Wine?"

I looked up from my plate with a smile. "Getting me drunk, Mr. Rutherford?"

His smile lines appeared as he took a sip of his whiskey and shook his head. "No, I like you in all your senses, Mrs. Rutherford."

We were in one of the most beautiful restaurants, surrounded with extravagant French food, and dinning at a table by the window. He had persuaded me not to worry about my calories and promised to relieve Marianne from her duties as my handler once we went back home. It was an act solely offered by my husband and he wasn't taking my disapproval or his mother for that matter on it. I look outside to find a few photographers chatting among themselves and taking a shot or two every once in a while. A constant grate on my heart.

"Are you not enjoying the food?" Daniel asked, breaking a lobster and bringing the fleshy part to my lips. I let him feed me and distracted myself with the starry sky to stop swooning over him.
