Aurora POV

“Tell me, why did you become a chef?” Dexter asked as I blew dry his hair in front of the mirror in his closet.

“Well, I have always loved cooking. I have been cooking for as long as I remember, and when I finished high school, I was fortunate enough to get a job at the restaurant,” I said. He hummed.

“So, you didn’t go to college?” He asked, and I nodded my head, and he looked at me, surprised.

“How is it possible for the daughter of the Brown family not to have gone to college?” he asked, and I smiled. He must think my family is one big supportive family; no one has any idea what I went through with them. I shrugged my shoulders.

“I didn’t see it as a big deal,” I said, and he raised his eyebrows.

“I know your brothers; we went to college together, and I knew when your sister entered the college because I was part of the people in charge, and I remembered seeing her name, so how come you didn’t go?” He asked, and I didn’t want to talk about it.

“It was a choice,” I said

  • Married To The Crippled CEO   Chapter 53(Weekend Hangout II)

Dexter POVI looked at Aurora as she placed the gift boxes on the table, sharing them among everyone. It was getting late, and it was time to tell them the good news. The lunch was great, and it was the first time I was having people over at my house. My father was an only child, and my grandparents are dead. My mother had a sibling, but I have no idea where he is or what he is up to. I didn’t grow up with a big family; it was just my dad and I, so having lunch with people was heartfelt. It is the first for Aurora and me. “What’s with the gift boxes?” Dr James asked, looking at the box. I noticed he and Dad have really hit it off. He is like Aurora’s father, and I am happy they have both become friends. He saved me after all with Aurora’s help. “It’s a surprise,” Aurora said, coming back to her seat. She looked at me and chuckled, and I guess by now they are all starting to notice this is not a house-warming party or lunch. “Okay, are you all ready to open it?” She asked, and I sat

  • Married To The Crippled CEO   Chapter 52 (Weekend Hangout)

Aurora’s POVI smiled, arranging the plates on the table. It was the weekend, and Dexter and I decided to announce to our families the new addition to the family. I invited Dr. James, Luca, Mr. King, and my high school friends, and of course, Darcy. I set up the outdoor place with the chefs whom Dexter hired to get everything ready and also cook the food. Since finding out I am pregnant, Dexter has been highly protective. Doesn’t want me doing anything stressful, worries about my health every second. The morning sickness has been very crazy, I feel tired most time, and I get irritated very quickly. I guess it’s all part of being pregnant. I was so worried about telling Dexter about my pregnancy. We have never really discussed it, and I had no idea if he was ready to be a father or not. But he had surprisingly taken it so well. I never imagined I would be a mother one day or be married. It all feels strange, but I am so grateful I get another chance at life to be truly happy and to be

  • Married To The Crippled CEO   Chapter 51 (Pregnant But Not Disabled)

Dexter POV“I started feeling nauseous about a week ago and only got the courage to take a test three days ago. Well, Darcy convinced me to take a test and also visit a doctor,” Aurora said, looking at me. We were still seated on the floor, and the test and everything in the box were in front of me.“Why didn’t you tell me?” I asked, looking at the positive pregnancy test. “I wanted to make sure, but I had been feeling so weak; most times I sleep in class, and I get very forgetful,” she said, and I remembered when she cooked some days ago, and she forgot to add salt. I didn’t complain; I knew it was just a silly mistake. I sniffed, rubbing her belly.“There is a baby inside? For real?” I asked softly, and she chuckled. “Of course, our baby is growing inside, and he or she is only 4 weeks old,” she replied. “We made the baby on our honeymoon,” I said with a smirk, and she laughed, shaking her head at me. “Well, after all that style, something was bound to happen,” she replied, and

  • Married To The Crippled CEO   Chapter 50 (Good News)

Dexter POVSoon, it was closing time, and I quickly made my way back home. Today has been such a stressful day at work, and all I wanted was some home cooked food and cuddles from my wife. I got home, and I parked in the garage. I made my way inside the house, and normally I am welcomed by Aurora’s cooking and Italian songs playing in the background, but today she wasn’t here. No aroma, no songs, and no Aurora. I looked around the house, and I was just realizing how empty and lifeless it is.“She took all the homey feeling with her,” I mumbled, shaking my head. Truly, a wife makes the house feel like home, and without her, it’s just a hollow place. I went to the kitchen, dropped my lunchbox and washed the plates, and then arranged them. When I was done, I cleaned my hands and went to our room, dialling her number, but there was no answer. I slowly grew scared as to why she wasn’t picking up, but I received her text, which said she was almost home, so I felt at peace. I dropped my bag

  • Married To The Crippled CEO   Chapter 50(Mr. Brown)

Dexter POV“Come in,” I said, looking at my computer. The door opened and Mr Brown walked in, and I smiled, looking away from my computer. He bowed his head as he walked in.“Good day, Mr King,” he greeted me, and I smiled, shaking my head at him.“Really? I am your son-in-law. Keep the formalities with me. Dexter is fine,” I said, and he looked up, nodding his head with a slight smile. But the smile didn’t reach his eyes; he looked nervous.“Please, have your seat,” I said. He took his seat in front of me, and I breathed out. “It’s been over 3 months since we invested in your company; how is it going?” I asked, moving straight to the point. Well, weeks have passed since we came back from the honeymoon, and Aurora and I are fully settled in our new home. I never thought Aurora had such a mature and beautiful taste. She and the interior designer did beautiful work on the house; they made it homey and beautiful. I am always so excited to go home after a long day at work because I alway

  • Married To The Crippled CEO   Chapter 49 (Tip Of The Ice Berg)

Aurora POVAfter an hour long journey, we were finally on our way home, and I was exhausted. Being in a plane for so long can be exhausting, and I was happy to be off on it. I looked outside the window, loving the fresh air, and I breathed in, sighing in relief. I miss Paris, but I am happy to be back home. I looked outside the window and looked at Dexter.“This isn’t our way home,” I said, and he smiled. “I know; I have a surprise for you,” he said, and I raised my brows.“Surprise? You have given me lots of surprises. What could be the surprise this time?” I asked, and he smiled. “You will see it soon,” he replied, and I hummed, giving him suspicious looks, but he didn’t say anything; he only smiled at me. Well, I was a bit eager for the surprise. Dexter always has something up his sleeve, so I guess I am used to it by now. The car kept going, and soon, we got to an estate. It is a luxurious estate with beautiful houses on the sides of each road. I haven’t seen so many mansions at
