Chapter 22

Nathan's POV

The slap instantly pushed my wolf to the back of my mind.

I blinked back my wolf yelping within, I had been struggling with him for control, the rush of heat when Rosalie touched still burned.

If Brad hadn't stepped in I would have done something I’d regret. My breath had come in ragged gasps, my hands shaking.

“What the hell happened?” Brad barked as Rosalie ran away.

I said nothing. What could I say? I didn’t even know.

He frowned as I stayed silent, fists clenched, eyes darting to the door like he wanted to chase after her, but he didn't.

I rubbed my temples, forcing myself to breathe. The ache in my head had faded, mo doubt thanks to Rosalie’s healing, it had worked this time, physically at least.

Emotionally?

I was a mess.

“Dammit,” I muttered, dragging a hand through my hair. “If I’d just controlled myself…”

This could’ve been progress now she’d probably be too scared to come near me. And honestly? I wouldn’t blame her.
