Married Two Years, Just His Bed Partner

Sophie's POV

My husband, Zachary Hudson, frowned at the patient, Melanie Sanders.

"If my secretary hadn't seen you at the hospital, would you have gone through with the surgery without telling me?" he asked. "I told you—how I feel doesn't matter. Don't hurt yourself for my sake."

"But it breaks my heart to watch you struggle to hold yourself back…" Melanie cried, her voice full of hurt.

Caressing her cheek, he replied tenderly, "It's okay, silly. Having you by my side is more than enough for me. My sexual needs are nothing compared to your well-being. I'd rather remain celibate for the rest of my life."

Touched by his devotion, Melanie's eyes welled up with tears.

The pair continued their display of affection as if I wasn't even there. Zachary's attention was entirely on Melanie. He didn't even seem to notice that I was in the room with them.

I stood off to the side, feeling like an insignificant third wheel.

Just last night, he had been murmuring against my ear while our bodies were pressed together. He'd taken me again and again with a forceful, possessive desire. But now, he was telling another woman he'd give up sex for her.

"Come on. Let's go home."

Zachary took Melanie's hand and turned to leave, but the latter stayed rooted in place.

"I still want to have the surgery, honey," she said hesitantly. "I want to make you happy, and I also want us to have a baby of our own."

He instantly shot her down. "Even if that's the case, I still refuse to let you do that to your body."

While the two of them were at an impasse, I accidentally knocked a pen off my desk.

Upon hearing the noise, Zachary turned toward me. The moment he caught sight of my pale face, his expression hardened.

Moments later, he composed himself once more and turned his attention back toward Melanie.

"Come on, honey. Let's head home for now."

After he led her out of the room, I collapsed into my chair, my entire body stiff. My chest ached, and I found it difficult to breathe.

I had never imagined that Zachary would cheat on me. But alas, the truth had already been laid bare before me.

I covered my face as tears began to stream down my face uncontrollably.

All of a sudden, a knock came at the door. One of the nurses reminded me that my next patient was waiting.

I hurriedly wiped away my tears and buried my emotions so I could continue to work. I held myself together until my shift ended before finally dragging my numb body home.

By the time I got back, the entire house was pitch-black. I had just reached for the light switch when a warm body pressed up against me from behind.

A familiar scent filled my senses.

It was Zachary.

Before I even had time to react, he had already pushed me down onto the couch.

I couldn't believe it. I had caught him cheating, but instead of offering me an explanation, he was trying to satisfy his own desires.

"Don't touch me!" I screamed as I struggled desperately against his hold.

Zachary pinned both of my hands down with ease.

"You don't want this?" he asked.

I stared at him in disbelief. In a trembling voice, I responded, "Do you have nothing to say to me, Zachary?"

How could he be so calm? He was acting as if nothing had happened.

Frowning at me, he declared calmly, "She won't affect our relationship. We can just keep everything as it is."

I couldn't believe my ears.

"W-what did you just say?"

"She can't satisfy me in bed, and her body isn't fit for pregnancy. You can pretend you don't know anything, and we can keep things the way they've always been."

As he spoke, he pulled out his phone. A moment later, I received a transfer of five million dollars.

"Quit your job," he told me.

I was at a complete loss for words. Then, Zachary's phone abruptly started to ring.

He got off of me to answer the call. When he picked up, his tone instantly softened.

"Okay. I'll be there soon."

He hung up and left without another word. I, on the other hand, was left completely frozen in place.

I sat there in a daze, gradually feeling my heart sink. I knew perfectly well that Melanie was the one who called him.

As tears streamed uncontrollably down my face, I picked up my phone and made a call.

"Please help me draw up a divorce agreement."
