Chapter Fifty-Three

Karen's POV

How could I tell him that I was nervous when I greeted him? "I'm sorry sir, I was...."

He interrupted. "It's alright, I don't expect much from an illiterate. A lady who does not own any company," he looked at Brody and then turned to look at me. "Did you even go to a university?" He inquired.

"Dad, I won't..."

"It's alright," I whispered to Brody, I didn't want him to be disrespectful to his dad. "I dropped out of high school, my parents didn't have enough money to further my education." I informed him and he chuckled softly.

He was livid. "I absolutely knew you didn't go to a reputable university." 

Brody's mom gave him a stern look. "Honey, I don't think we should be discussing this. Let's just have dinner as one family." 

"Dinner?" He asked. "I'm not going to have dinner with that woman." He added referring to me and climbed the stairs hurriedly.
