Kasper's POV
“ Sir, Greg is back to the US,” Steve announced the moment he walked up to me. That brat had finally returned, he must have been forced.
“ Is he at the airport? If he is arrange a car to pick him up,” I instructed.
“ I'm not sure they'll be a need for that, sir. He came in yesterday,” he informed.
“ You know, you have said that from the start,”
“ Sorry, sir,”
“ Where is he as it stands?” I inquired.
“ He's lodged in Oakwood hotel,” he was indeed handy. “ Do you want to give him a call first or...,”
“ There's no need to, let's just get going,” I said taking my coat as we headed out. It had been a while since we last met.
Getting to the hotel, we were immediately taken to his room. Opening the door to his suite, I could already perceive the smell of ladies’ perfume. That pervert was at it again.
“ Drey, I'm coming in,” I said as I walked into his bedroom. He was seated on his bed with a bathrobe on and the lady quickly picked up her things and scurried out.
“ Kasper, my man,” he beamed at me.
“ You sound like we're in the 1960s,” I said looking around.
“ You could at least pretend to miss me, you know?” He pouted. “ Aren't we supposed to be best friends?”
“ I'm glad you added pretend there,” I said without any emotion on my face. “ I'm guessing your grandparents dragged you back,”
“ Sometimes they can be really intoxicating,” he sighed. “ But they don't get that I don't wanna be responsible! Well, at least not now,” He yapped.
“ Anyway, how's your wife?” He asked with a smirk on his face. “ I told you that you're too old for this. There's no way an oldie like you would get married to a hottie like her and you won't fall in love,”
“ First of, we're the same age genius. So if I'm old, you're old,” I squinted my eyes. “ Secondly, I'm not in love with her and I never would be,” I stated.
“ But you will soon,” he taunted. “ My advice to you, just enjoy her after all, she's pretty,” he came with his empty-headedness.
“ Get up. I'm not going to talk to you here,” I instructed and before he could revolt, I pulled him from his bed and threatened to drag him out with his robe on, so he finally gave in.
We sat in the VIP lounge of a club within the hotel, girls surrounded us. We began to drink as he talked.
“ So you actually scrubbed her body that hard just because she was standing with another guy?” He asked me with twisted brows.
“ No, he held her and they were about to kiss. Whatever the case may be, his smell was all over her,” I suddenly felt annoyed as I recollected.
“ What are you? A blood hound? Anyway, do you know what I think is the problem?” He's faced looked a bit more serious.
“ What?” I said curious to know.
“ I think you're jealous,” he said laughing at me.
“ Why would I be jealous because of her? I don't even care what she does or where she goes. She's simply by my side because she must pay for Aurelia’s death,” I clarified.
” Must you sound this robotic when you explain yourself?” He continued to laugh. “ If what you said was indeed true then even if she kisses another person, you shouldn't have much of a problem with it. And should you be following and monitoring her every movement if you don't care where she goes?” He went on and on. “ I think you've started to get pretty fond of her, who knows maybe you even have started to like...,” I gulped down a drink and closed my ears to his baseless talk.
I knew I didn't love Anastasia. Whatever I did, I did it to punish her and that was period.

Anastasia’s POV
Later that evening
I excused myself and headed to the toilet, I wasn't going there to do what anyone thought, I just needed to clear my head. Getting to the bathroom, I stood in front of the mirror and looked at myself, no one seemed to be in here.
I raised my shirt up to see the painful scrub marks and hickeys on my body which I had carried ointment for. I had not being able to concentrate with the stinging pain of the scrubs, I knew I shouldn't have followed them. Tears slowly fell from my eyes as I applied the ointment but it wasn't because of the stinging pain I felt, I was just tired of everything. I never thought I would come to the point of having so many regrets.
“ Anna?” Someone gasped and looking through the mirror, I saw Claire behind me. Had she been here all along? I hurriedly dropped my shirt and cleaned my eyes.
“ Yes? I didn't know anyone was here,” I turned around to face her, putting on a fake smile.
“ Oh my gosh, Anna,” tears began to gather in her eyes. “ So you really weren't lying about you having a boyfriend?” She questioned rhetorically but her eyes caught something else.
“ You're married?” She had noticed the ring I had on. Kasper had made me wear it before leaving for work. I used my other hand to cover it as I looked at the floor.
” I don't want to talk about this,” a tear drop fell to the floor as I bit my lip.
“ You don't have to but you shouldn't suffer in silence. I mean, I don't know what's going on but he seems to abuse you,” she said plainly. “ You probably knew this was going to happen and that's why you didn't want to come. I'm sorry for making you have to go through this,” she sincerely apologised but it wasn't just about her or them, it was me.
“ No need to apologise,” I raised my head and tried to reassure her. “ I read a really really depressing story so my mood has been off, do you want to hear it?”
“ Sure,”
“ Well, there were two friends, best friends really. One from a wealthy family and the other from a regular family but it didn't matter to them but the one from the wealthy home was really sickly and so had to be extra careful in doing anything,” I took a deep breath.
“ When they eventually find the cure for her, the best friend tells the other one the good news and in excitement, the second one decides to take her out to celebrate but then an accident occurs and the wealthy one dies leaving the average one feeling broken and guilt ridden,” I paused waiting for her to respond.
“ It's really is heart breaking, I really can't tell how guilty the other one would feel. I'm more worried about the family of the wealthy one that might want to pin the blame on the other. But in all, the friend that took her out isn't at fault and I don't think she should be blamed, accidents occur and they wouldn't be accidents if we foresaw them,” she let out a sigh.
“ No one deserves to bear the consequences for what they didn't do,” she added. “ The girl should who survived should live everyday happily, I bet that's what her best friend would want. She wouldn't want to see her downcast because of something she had no control over,” she concluded and I hugged her in tears.
“ Anna? Are you alright?” She was taken aback by my sudden outburst but in just kept on hugging her and crying. “ Really seems this story got to you,” she chuckled as patted my head.
If only she knew it wasn't just a story, it was my story and I'm glad someone understands me even if she has no idea it's me.

Anastasia’s POVA few months laterI rushed into the bathroom slamming the door open, letting myself in. Once I was in one of the stalls, I bent over and began to throw up. I had been throwing up like this for nearly a week now and honestly it was draining, my face look a lot paler and bags formed under my eyes maybe that part as due to work stress.I walked out of the stall after flushing and walked towards the sink when I saw Claire standing. She had followed me in.“ Are you alright?” She questioned, her face couldn't hide her worry.“ I'm fine. I think I'm just a little stressed out than usual. Maybe it's because of the project we've been working on,” I deduced.“ Are you sure you'll be able to make a presentation at the meeting today?”“ Yes, I can. Don't worry too much about me, I'm fine,” I guaranteed.“ Alright, if you say so,” she let out a sigh. “ Let's be going, the meeting is about to start,” she reminded me as she led the way. I couldn't ruin this meeting, it was the firs
Kasper's POVI hung up on her before she could finish whatever she had to say. Did she really think she was entitled to be close to me? I wouldn't even marry her if I didn't want her to pay for her crimes.“ Sir, aren't you going to head home?” Steve inquired.“ I was but there's going to be a change of plans,” I informed. I picked up my phone and dialed. “ Yes, are you still there Greg?”“ I'm actually at my house this time but it's cool, was having a sort of party so...,” he paused.“ I'll be there,” “ Wait, what? Since when did you even like...,” I hung up on him before he could finish his complaints.“ Let's go,” I said to Steve as I got to my feet and walked towards the door. After a forty minute drive, we got to Greg's glass house. Getting inside, the house was booming with loud music, he wasn't joking when he said he was having a party.“ Hey, handsome,” some scantly dressed girls approached me in a lousy attempt to seduce me. “ Wanna grab a drink?”“ I'm sorry but my boss is
Kasper's POV I got ready to head to my mansion the next morning, I didn't want Mrs. Margaret and Butler Luke to nag me. I didn't have the strength to argue with them.“ Sir, are you heading back now?” Butler Lee, Greg's butler questioned as I came downstairs. I was having a slight headache and still a little bit tipsy from last night.“ Yes, I have work to attend to,” I said walking past him and heading to the kitchen to pour myself a glass of water.“ Should I inform the young master that you're going home now?” He inquired even about heading upstairs to wake him up.“ No, there's no need for that. He'll wake up and find out, I'll also send him a text once I get home... Probably,” I paused before riding on. “ Okay, then. If you say so but let me at least ask a driver to take you home,” he offered.“ Don't worry, I can drive home myself,” I dismissed, walking out of the kitchen and towards the door but then the drowsy feeling I thought I could handle hit me hard. “ On a second tho
Five years laterCora’s POVI sprang up from my bed excitedly, I was in a really good mood. Today was finally the day I would meet my love after what seemed like forever. I hurriedly rushed to my bathroom to wash my face, I needed to look good before meeting him.“ Young mistress, your green tea is ready,” one of the maids announced as she walked in.“ Place it on the center table, I'm coming,” I instructed from inside the bathroom.“ Yes ma,” she replied.“ Are mom and dad still around?” I questioned as I stepped out of the bathroom.“ Yes, but they'll be heading out soon,” she informed.“ It's alright,” I said sipping my tea. I picked up my phone and dialed a number, it rang for a while. “ C’mon, pick up,” I bit my nails.“ Hello!” Lily's cheerful voice pierced through the phone and into my ears,at least she was alive. “ Yes, it's sort of a miracle that you picked up this fast,” I sighed.“ Haha, you were just lucky my phone was close by,” she giggled. “ So what's up? Is there anyt
Kasper's POV It was like I was standing in front of my very worst nightmare. Wasn't that the crazy girl from some years back?“ Sir, she's Cora. The daughter and the only child to the Vandenberg family,” Steve whispered to me. He had seen the horror on my face. “ Should I smile and acknowledge her presence of should I pretend like I didn't see her because the second option is really tempting,” I talked back to him.“ You're not the only one terrified by her presence but let's not forget that she's the daughter of one of our most trusted business associates,” he reminded. This was more annoying than I thought it would be, now I couldn't even snub her. “ Could today possibly get any worse?” I cussed underneath my breath and watched as she approached me with her guards and a girl I wasn't sure I had seen before.“ Do you remember me by chance, CEO Kasper?” Cora who now stood in front of me questioned.“ You're really hard to forget,” I muttered, nearly rolling my eyes. “ Yes, of c
Cora's POVI had never felt so embarrassed before, everyone had noticed Kasper's attitude towards me in the restaurant and then to crown it all, I just had to cry. “ Ma'am, would you like to stop at the convenience store for anything? Maybe ice cream?” My driver asked. He knew my mood was sour so he tried doing what he thought would relieve me but now that I think of it, why did he assume that I would want ice cream? Was I really this immature in everyone's eyes?“ Do you think I'm immature?” I questioned.“ Ma'am?” He was taken aback by my question.“ Do you think I'm immature?” I repeated myself sounding a lot more rigid.“ No, young mistress. Why would presume that?” He scratched the back of his head awkwardly, sweat beads forming on his temple from tension.“ So what did you instantly think I would want to take ice cream?” I frowned.“ Erm... I just thought you might want to get it since you do like ice cream and you were also angry so I tried putting the pieces together,” he pau
The alarm clock beeped rather loudly, vibrating as it did. I used my hand to hit the alarm, I couldn't stand it ringing any further, besides, today was the day. “ Chloe,” I rolled over and called out to my twin sister who lay on the bed next to mine. After all she said about waking up early, she was still the one who refused to get up. She winced. “ Chloe!” I called louder, kneeling beside her bed to poke her. “ Stop it,” she slapped my hand still fast asleep. She rolled with her teddy bear held tight in her arms, her back facing me. “ You're so annoying when you sleep,” I grunted. I needed to come up with a plan to wake her up. “ Chloe, mom just made your favourite strawberry shortcakes and I'm going to have them all if you don't get up now,” I deviced. “ Huh? Strawberry?” She sat up slowly, her eyes bleary and unfocused. “ That's so mean of you to want to eat everything,” she replied finally awake. “ Really? Do you really think I care about your strawberry shortcakes?” I looked
Kasper's POV A knock came on my office door as I scanned through the piles of files on my desk. I suddenly didn't feel like answering. “ Come in,” I sighed. “ Sir, I have big news,” Steve walked briskly and stood in front of my desk. I looked at him, not a bit of curiosity or enthusiasm on my face. “ I'm being for real,” he knew the look I gave him. “ Go on then,” I rolled my eyeballs. I picked up the glass of water I hadn't acknowledged was there ever since. “ Lucas is back,” he went straight to the point. “ What?!” I spat out the water in my mouth. Thank goodness I didn't drink much but did I just hear right? “ He's about landing here in Riverdale, sir,” he repeated with more detail this time. “ And how come I'm only hearing this now?” I demanded an answer. “ Besides, why is he back?” I bombarded. “ I have no idea, sir. When he gets to the mansion, you can question him personally,” he didn't want to
