Chapter 18

Cannon was working on a file when he heard a knock on the door of his cabin.

He checked the time while guessing who could be it.

It wasn’t office time yet. He just came early today.

Anyways, he sat straight, “Come in.”

Mary entered the cabin which shocked Cannon as well as got him angry.

Mary didn’t get the chance to say anything as Cannon went on, “Why are you here? To see how am I doing? Well, I am doing fantastic without you people. So, don’t bother coming to me for faking again.”

“Cannon, I..” Mary tried to say.

Cannon turned his gaze to his files again, “I am busy. Please leave.”

When Mary still didn’t get going, Cannon looked at her once again. She was just staring at him with a pleading look.

Cannon knew it was fake and he ended up giving the disturbing question which bugged him till ages some voice, “There was always an option. Why didn’t you opt for it?”

His voice was a mere whisper but Mary heard it loud and clear.
