AS SOON AS Angelique opened her eyes the next day, Charon was standing at the foot of her bed.
“Good morning, Madam. I will step out for a moment as you freshen up.”
It was so weird seeing him without his master, “Where is Hades?”
He jerked at the mention of the lord’s mortal name. “He had a meeting with other minor deities of the underworld.”
He would not even bother seeing her off. Not that Angelique is disappointed not to see him for the last time.
She knew that she will be returning to her family. So she decided to wear simple clothes so as not to arouse any unnecessary attention from people.
