5. Family Introductions

"So, what are your parent's names?" said Mrs. Veronica as Luna invited Sam and his parents to sit in the living room.

"Can you hold on? We just sat down!" Mr. William warned.

Mrs. Veronica completely ignored her husband's words and continued to stare at Luna with a sharp gaze. She was still waiting for Luna's answer.

Seeing Mrs. Veronica's attitude, Luna just smiled. She then left the living room and took a family photo which was still neatly framed on his father's desk. Luna gave a photo of her parents to Mrs. Veronica after she got to the living room.

"My father's name is Andreas, and my mother's name is Lily. If you are interested in my parents' work, I will be happy to explain." Said Luna confidently.

It seems that Sam's mother is quite underestimating her family.

Unlike his wife, who normally saw the photo, Mr. William was immediately stunned to see the face of his old friend in the frame.

"Andreas," Mr. William muttered.

"You know him?" asked Mrs. Veronica confused.

"He was the one who lent me capital to build a business! Luckily my business was successful and I can make a big company now!" whispered Mr. William.

"Your friend who sold his father's inheritance in the village to help you?" asked Mrs. Veronica in a whisper too.

Luna didn't hear the conversation between Sam's parents because they whispered. She glanced at Sam in confusion.

"We can try to get to know each other slowly. The point of this meeting is for family introductions, to expedite our marriage." Sam started to speak.

"Why the rush? Can't we change the order? You can try to get to know and love each other before getting married. Why do you have to get married first and then try to accept each other?" said Mrs. Veronica.

"I don't want to be haunted by guilt any longer," Sam said quickly.

Luna only glanced at Sam briefly then took a deep breath. She wasn't the only one suffering. Sam is also tormented differently. The guilt that Sam always said seemed to depress him greatly.

"What about your other relatives?" asked Mrs. Veronica.

"In Jakarta, I am alone, but I have distant relatives in the village," Luna answered briefly.

"Have you informed them?" asked Mrs. Veronica.

"Yes, and they left it all to me."

Luna always answered every question that Mrs. Veronica asked. Luna wanted to have a clear relationship so that there wouldn't be any awkward situations between her and Sam's family.

Sam smiled slightly knowing how wise Luna was in responding to all the nonsense his mother asked. He didn't know why his mother asked about Luna's friends and even the girl's ex-boyfriend.

"That's enough, I, who just listened to it earlier, am quite tired, especially Luna who has to keep answering all your questions!" interrupted Mr. William with sharply narrowed eyes.

"I want to know everything about my future daughter-in-law, is that wrong?" Mrs. Veronica exclaimed and pouted.

"But you are asking things that are too personal!"

"It's for the sake of our Son's happiness!"

Sam shook his head weakly. He did not want to be further embarrassed by the behavior of his parents, therefore he rushed to take his parents home.

"Don't go home yet, at least today's meeting should bring results," said Mr. William suddenly.

Mrs. Veronica and Sam, who was about to step out of the living room, came closer again.

"I've got what I wanted," said Mrs. Veronica with a confused face. She did not understand what other results Mr. William meant.

"Wedding date!" cried Mr. William who immediately made everyone silent.

"I think sooner would be better considering Luna is living alone here. It would be much safer if someone was to look after her."

Sam was silent hearing his father's words. Could that mean that her father had completely supported their marriage?

"Wait a minute, even though they have agreed to get married, that doesn't mean it has to be done quickly! Do you know how long the wedding process is? I have a lot of things to take care of! This is our eldest son's wedding, I want to make a perfect wedding for him!" Mrs. Veronica protested.

Disaster!

Luna, who doesn't like being the center of attention, will be very out of style at the party that her future in-laws are throwing. For whatever reason, she just wanted a simple wedding attended by the people closest to her.

"I know exactly what that expression means, Luna! Don't you dare contradict me on this one or you will forever be my enemy!" threatened Mrs. Veronica.

"Come on," groaned Sam half frustrated.

"Listen, Sam, throwing a big party for you is my dream! Don't destroy my dream just because your future wife doesn't want it!" said Mrs. Veronica.

Sam and William were just silent. They still remember it very clearly when business was not going well for their family so they had to live very simply. Mrs. Veronica always raved about throwing a really big party for Sam if they had a lot of money later. That's why, for this one, Sam could not argue with his mother's wishes.

"Looks like we should talk about this another time, for now, let Sam and Luna have a private talk first!" after saying that, Mr. William immediately put his arm around Mrs. Veronica's shoulder and took her away from Luna's house.

"Sorry for today," Sam said as soon as he was alone with Luna.

"It doesn't matter, I had much fussier mothers before. So I wasn't too surprised by what your mother did." Luna answered then smiled.

"Wouldn't it be a problem for you to join to be part of my family? You will probably hear more of her ramblings than me," asked Sam.

"I told you, I'll be fine with all of that. Now, can we talk about something serious?" Luna looked at Sam with a deep gaze.

"Didn't we already have the deal?" Sam looks confused.

Luna shook her head slowly. The girl then walked quickly to her room, then took a document that she had previously prepared.

After that Luna ran over to Sam to hand over the document.

"What's this?" asked Sam confused.

"A letter of agreement, you can write your version of prohibitions in our relationship, and I can also write my version of the same thing! As husband and wife later, we must be able to respect and understand each other." Luna explained.

"I'm not a complicated person, so I'm quite confused about what to write here," said Sam.

"I'll start, maybe you'll know if you see me do it first!" After saying that, Luna took a pen and started writing a few words on the agreement.

Luna version, number 1.

It is forbidden to have another girl in Sam's heart before three months of marriage have passed.

Sam who read it immediately frowned confused.

"Whether our relationship will develop love or not, I don't want another girl between us. Because if there is, it means you are trampling on my pride as a woman!" Luna explained casually.

Hearing Luna's explanation, Sam smiled. Now he understands the function of the agreement letter.

"Then I'll write a few things here," Sam said and then began to write.

Luna's forehead wrinkled when she read about the prohibition that Sam had written.

"Wow! You're kidding!" Luna growled, glancing sharply at Sam.
