6. Wedding Day

Jane was still struggling with Luna's hair when Eros came. It was agreed that the two girls would style each other's hair when they married.

Carefully Jane styled Luna's hair and placed small flowers on the girl's brown hair.

"For your information, all the invited guests including the groom-to-be have been waiting for you for a long time!" snapped Eros.

To be honest, Eros was still very upset because Luna decided to marry Sam even though Eros and Jane had tried to prevent it.

Luna is still very young, she is beautiful and accomplished. It would be a shame if the girl got married this young.

"Shut up, I'm doing my best to make Luna look hundreds of times prettier!" said Jane no less curtly.

Eros sighed in annoyance, he then approached the two girls and sat on a chair that was not far from them.

"All you've been doing is sticking wildflowers in Luna's hair! Was that what you did best?" sneered Eros.

"Yes, said someone who does not understand art!" she growled.

Luna just smiled faintly. To be honest, she wanted Jane to get her hair done right away because she was so sore from sitting in an upright position for that long.

"Look at Luna's face, I'm sure she's cursing, bringing out all the swearing in her heart!" Eros exclaimed while staring at Luna's reflection in the mirror.

"Eros, shut up! You're disturbing my concentration!" Jane snapped, which immediately made Eros silent.

Jane carefully continued her work. This is a very important day for her best friend, she wants Luna to look amazing in front of guests, her mother-in-law, and her future husband.

Jane put a transparent veil on Luna's head very gently and carefully.

"Done!"

It was the words Luna had been waiting for.

The girl quickly stood up and did a light muscle stretch.

"Hey, be careful! You might ruin your dress!" cried Jane angrily.

"Oh okay!" said Luna quickly.

Eros just shook his head slowly seeing the behavior of his two friends.

With a heavy heart, Eros positioned himself beside Luna. Luna, who saw Eros' sour look, only smiled a little, she then put her hand on Eros' arm, and they came out of the bridal dressing room.

Eros is the only man who can be Luna's guardian at the moment considering that Luna has no other brothers, even if they are distant relatives.

Luna's little bridesmaids were already waiting outside the door in pink dresses and bunches of white roses in their hands.

A little girl who knew Luna was Jane's cousin, gave Luna a very beautiful bouquet.

"Thank you," Luna said with a warm smile.

They began to enter the church and walked slowly down the altar. All the guests who were on the right and left of the red velvet carpet with white roses sprinkled on it, immediately stood up to welcome Luna.

Luna's heart pounded so fast to see Sam standing at the end of the carpet with the priest. He was wearing a white tuxedo with a small red rose in his chest pocket.

Sam smiled slightly at Luna. He knew Luna was very beautiful, but seeing the girl walk so gracefully in a white wedding dress and natural makeup like that made him forget to breathe for a few seconds.

How should he say it? Incredibly beautiful isn't the right word because Luna is so much more than that.

After arriving before Sam, Eros moved Luna's hand which was originally wrapped around his arm, to give it to Sam who happily welcomed her.

Eros knew exactly what that meant. He was handing over his best friend to Sam.

Eros looked at Sam meaningfully which was immediately returned by a slow nod from Sam. After that Eros came back and sat beside Jane.

"Sam will look after Luna, please smile!" she whispered.

"I hope so!" said Eros briefly.

The blessing ceremony began. Everyone followed each process solemnly, especially the bride and groom.

Sam froze when the priest invited him to open Luna's transparent veil and kiss her.

Not only Sam, but Luna also shuddered at the thought. But after all, this was something they had to do, so she could only give up.

Sam looked at Luna doubtfully, he asked permission with that look, would Luna be willing to be kissed by him? And seeing that, Luna nodded slowly.

Everyone immediately cheered as soon as Sam opened the transparent veil, and kissed Luna's soft lips. Everyone except Eros immediately shuddered at the scene before him.

***

Luna took a deep breath when she removed her wedding dress and all the accessories attached to her body. The girl immediately jumped in shock while covering her body with the dress she had taken off when someone entered the hotel room that had been provided for the bride and groom.

"Sorry!" shouted Sam no less surprised. The man immediately turned around and closed his eyes tightly.

The reception will be held at the hotel that Mrs. Sam has chosen. So like it or not they both have to share a room until the event is over.

Hastily, Luna took another dress and put it on.

"I'm done," Luna said, still looking nervous.

Sam turned and approached the girl.

"Next time I will knock on the door before entering. Sorry, I'm not used to it," Sam said quietly.

"Yes, I understand," was the only sentence that came out of Luna's mouth.

"Ah, mom is waiting outside, she can't wait to show you off to her socialite friends!"

Luna took a deep breath at Sam's words. Aren't all the wedding processions tiring enough? Now she still has to obey her parents-in-law's wishes with parties and guests she doesn't know.

"If you're too tired, you can just rest here, I'll go out and meet them," Sam said quietly.

Luna shook her head slowly.

"Mom will be embarrassed and annoyed if I don't come out," said Luna quickly.

Sam smiled and nodded slowly. He took Luna's hand and held it tightly.

"Continue to stay by my side, otherwise mom will drag you to meet all her acquaintances one by one, and that will be much more tiring than meeting some of my relatives."

Hearing Sam's words, Luna immediately put her hand on the man's arm.

"I won't go far from you! Save me!" Luna exclaimed quickly.

Seeing Luna's adorable expression, Sam chuckled softly. Even so, he nodded slowly and took Luna to where the party was being held.

Luna stopped in her tracks in disbelief. This party was much bigger, grander, and busier than she had imagined. How will she get through the night?

"Don't worry, I'll try to help you. We just have to say hello to a few people, and sneak out of here!" whispered Sam. The man knew exactly Luna's fear.

From what he heard from Jane, Luna hated a party so much, and couldn't be the center of people's attention. Even though she looks cheerful and confident, Luna is very afraid of being the center of attention.

"Are you sure you can escape this place? All eyes were on us before we even entered the ballroom!" cried Luna panicked.

"Just trust me!"

I didn’t think it was gonna be so costly to read a book, so I’ll be done with it. I’m a senior on a fixed income I can’t just waste my money when I can go to the store and buy a book cheaper.

Some typos, but am enjoying the story even though it’s kind of slow going.
