"Fiancée?" Sydney  gasped in disbelief and turned to gaze at Leo next to her.

Leo’s face got gloomy and sad. "Mr. Gray must be kidding. When did you become engaged? We didn't hear anything about it," Leo  remarked, looking at Mona with a hint of seriousness.

He imagined Mona was still the innocent girl who would quickly explain things and calm him down at the least grimace. He didn't know that she hadn't even looked at him; she had just looked at Conan and said, "Why are you here?" Her usual behavior spoke it all.

Sydney  held on to her skirt tightly, not believing it. The Gray! Almost as good as the Cox family! How could Mona climb such a high branch after her divorce? Sydney was aware Mona was from a poor family.And Leo’s  strange behavior...

"Mr. Gray and Miss Hunt, you did a great job." You can attend to our wedding..." Sydney said, smiling.

"That's enough." Leo’s emotions filled with anger, and he coldly cut Sydney off.

Mr. Cox and Mr. Gray... The people watching closely watched their faces, as if they were trying to figure something out.

Sydney  was shocked and her voice fell a little. "Leo..."

Leo who used to soothe her completely ignored her and glanced at Conan. "Mr. Conan, getting engaged is a good thing, but don't let it all be for nothing."

Conan arched an eyebrow and said, "Don't worry, Mr. Cox. I'll definitely ask you to come to the engagement party for a drink.”

Leo looked at Conan and then walked away. Sydney bit her lip and smiled for everyone, then ran after Leo.

Others had discreetly left, not wanting to upset the Gray family, leaving Conan and Mona alone.

As Leo walked away, Conan looked at Mona and asked, "Are you excited to see your scumbag ex-husband?"

Mona was both furious and amused. "What nonsense are you talking about?" You are so loud when you say I'm your fiancée. Aren't you concerned your mom will toss you out of the house?”

Conan said, "You know how much my mom loves Luke and Rue. She might set off ten thousand fireworks if I can bring you home.”

Mona laughed also when she heard what he said. When Conan’s mother, Poppy Gray, was in France two years ago, she suddenly had low blood sugar. She ran across Luke and Rue, who were outdoors playing. By mistake, the two tiny kids gave her two candies to help her get better. The two small kids had fully taken over Mrs. Gray since then, and even Conan, her own son, had to step back.

Not far away, Leo’s  palm erupted into veins, and his eyes glared at the two who were laughing. Sydney was scared and quickly added, "It looks like Miss Hunt and Mr. Gray are close. Miss Hunt was gone for five years. I wonder when she met Mr. Gray. I don't know what to say about how completely she disappeared...”

Sydney was trying to say that Conan was somehow involved in Mona’s disappearance five years ago.

Sydney was shocked when Leo threw his phone on the floor in anger— and the phone scattered all over the place.

She cried as she said, "I just care too much about Miss Hunt. She left because of me, after all. Leo, if you feel bad now that she's back, I... "

“What are you talking about?" Leo’s  forehead wrinkled.

Sydney grabbed the chance to sulk and say, "I'm just worried that you'll fall for Miss Hunt again now that she’s back because she used to be your wife."

Leo’s  eyes fell on the vivacious couple not far away, and his expression got even darker. "We're divorced; how could I possibly have feelings for her?"

"I just can't stand to say goodbye to you." Sydney held Leo’s arm tightly, and the birthmark on her white skin stood out more.

Leo felt a vague annoyance rising inside him. He looked at Sydney and said, "You don't look well. You might want to take a break.”

"But..." Sydney’s  eyes got big in surprise. "Didn't we agree to tell everyone we were engaged?"

Leo thought about how stubborn Grandpa was and got a headache. He didn't know what Mona had said to his grandfather to make him so set on only accepting her as his  granddaughter-in-law. Leo said very forcefully, "I'll talk to Grandpa. You should get some sleep.”

Sydney walked away. Before she left, she gave Mona a nasty look. She couldn't just wait and do nothing. She called someone as she made her way to the car.

Everyone thought Mona was David's fiancée since he was so famous. They said that her earlier entry with Williams was a mistake. No one questioned Mona’s  identification, except for some harsh things said about the Hunt family's daughter, who could still get the Gray family's attention after leaving the Cox.

Mona messaged Williams a private message asking him to sign the deal with the Cox family instead of her, and then she acted like Conan’s partner.

Conan was really happy with the plan. People were shocked to see Conan, who had always hated being around people, happily moving through the crowd with Mona

Mona pinched Conan firmly at the waist, ending his excitement. Leo got angrier, and Nate thought about how much higher Mona’s standing was.

Leo only confronted Conan after the supper was done and he was about to leave with Mona.

"What does Mr. Cox want with my future wife?" Conan asked, and his smile didn't quite reach his eyes.

Conan was always a bit of a troublemaker, whereas Leo was very strict. Because of this, the two didn't talk to each other very often. Conan wasn't scared of Leo at all because they were both equal, and there was a clear sense of competition between them.

Leo didn't pay attention to Conan’s anger and only said to Mona, "We need to talk."

Mona pulled Conan out of the way and said quietly, "Mr. Cox, there's nothing to talk about between us. Over there is the person you're waiting for.” She gave Sydney a very clear look.

Sydney stood close by, with red eyes and her stomach in her hands, looking like a wife who had been left behind. Mona thought this scene was both funny and ironic.

Seeing that Sydney hadn’t gone yet, Leo sighed and said without any emotion, "Come here, Mona,"

His threatening look and threatening tone might have made someone weaker do what he wanted. But Mona and Conan didn't.

"What do you think you're doing?" Conan moved in between them, and his eyes were full of rage. How could Leo act so cocky in front of Mona and give her directions after they’ve already divorced?

Mona pulled Gray back just as it looked like a fight was about to break out. She gave him a furious look and then muttered softly to Leo, "It's Grandpa’s birthday today. Please don't make a scene.”

A lot of people looked at them as if they were about to fight. Mona didn't want her first time back home to be ruined by a show.

"We really don't have anything to talk about." She raised a glass of champagne and made a toast to Leo. "Mr. Cox, congratulations on your wife being pregnant and the joy of a new child."

Leo remarked coldly, "I don't like the way you talk to me." He didn't like this new, prickly version of Mona, who used to put him first in everything.

Mona grinned and said, "But I like it. Mr. Cox, you can go if you can't adapt.”

"Don't test my limits, Mona Hunt," Leo immediately seized her wrist and his dark eyes were full of rage.
