A plan

She took a breath to calm herself and said, "Celeste, after all the Armstrongs are still your home and your mother's residence for almost twelve years. Do you really have no feelings for this house? Think about the Armstrong family who raised you over the years. Take this opportunity to repay your father for raising you. If you feel that it's wrong, then just say it. If you want something, then I will make the decision to promise to give it to you."

What a dignified way and a standard that is also high enough to rob one's morality. Celeste suddenly felt relieved.

'Oh well, after this incident, I will have no relationship with the Armstrong family,' she thought.

"Okay, I'll agree," said Celeste.

Everyone started to look at each other worriedly. They were not sure why Celeste had suddenly agreed to the offer. However, regardless of the reason, once she agreed, things became easier to deal with.

Seeing how everyone seemed to have let go of a heavy burden on their minds and shoulders, Celeste was really upset because of the unfair treatment given to her late mother and herself.

She said, 'Mama, I sincerely wish you the best of luck and happiness. At least that way, you will not be able to see the Armstrong family's hypocritical and sly expressions again. Do not feel sad, and do not regret your choices then.'

"I agree, but I have a condition."

Everyone started to feel depressed again when they heard Celeste's words. No one knew what conditions the woman would make.

"I want sixteen percent of the cash injection that Davis Corp plans to give to the Armstrong Company as my wedding dowry. It doesn't matter how much they will give." said Celeste casually.

The first to disagree was Damari, who raised her voice in anger, "Are you crazy? Do you know how much money that is?"

Celeste smirked, "Auntie, there is no need to be so angry. It is just a small piece, like when Julia made gambling bets with her friends. You really should not be so angry."

That reply made Damari pause until she gave Celeste an evil look.

Frodo had not even gotten over the shock inside him at Celeste's request, and now hearing the trouble Julia had with gambling, he could feel his jaw opening wide as he could not hide the surprise and disbelief in his eyes. Even his speaking started to tremble, "Julia, is what Celeste said true?"

Julia pulled her shoulders and tried her best to hide behind Ivory's bigger body. She clenched her teeth and gave Celeste a piercing glare, making her eyeballs look like they were about to pop out.

She had no answer to her father's question. She thought that this incident had been resolved by her mother and grandmother, thus making her hide everything from her Papa and believe that this matter would gradually disappear. Who would have thought that Celeste would suddenly bring up this topic?

'If papa finds out that I've lost nearly four million dollars in gambling, he will surely beat me to the point of fainting.' Julia thought.

Seeing how the matter was starting to stray from the main topic, Damari quickly interrupted, "Enough, we'll talk about the Julia matter later. Let's solve Celeste's problem first. It is a matter that concerns the entire life and death of the Armstrong family."

Hearing Damari's words, Frodo finally calmed down a bit.

That is right. Celeste's matter should be settled first while the others could wait, "Celeste, do you have to do this?"

"Isn't that what I deserve? After all, as one of the daughters of the Armstrong family, if I was kicked out of the Davis house, then I would still have a small amount of wedding dowry to support the rest of my life. Isn't that right, Papa?" Celeste asked back.

Celeste did not hide the sarcasm and anger in her words. Things had gotten to this point, so there was not much to hide.

Frodo lowered his head because he could not find the courage to look back at his daughter's gaze.

The atmosphere in the living room became increasingly stifling.

"Celeste, grandma will make the decision to agree to your terms." In the end, the Armstrong family's old woman was the one to break the silence.

In Damari's heart, she really could not agree to that. However, Julia's mistake was unresolved, so she could only force herself to swallow this deal reluctantly.

Knowing that they would agree, Celeste was not at all surprised. However, the next line was like a high-end bombshell, which caught everyone off guard, "And the day I get married will be the day I cut ties with the Armstrong family." She secretly hated the word 'married.'

Frodo immediately raised his head and said, "Celeste, do you understand what you just said?"

Celeste replied nonchalantly, "I am already twenty years old. Of course I understand what I'm saying."

"I am your father." said Frodo.

"I know. Otherwise, do you think there is anyone who can make me like this?"

"Celeste." Frodo's voice was filled with pain and helplessness. He could feel that he had lost his child. Even though his daughter's presence was almost non-existent, she was still someone who had called him 'Papa' for the past twenty years.

The Armstrong family's old lady did not seem too surprised. Today, Celeste had given her too many surprises that she was starting to feel immune to everything.

"Celeste, have you really made up your mind?"

"Mama." Frodo was really surprised at Mrs. Armstrong's questioning tone. It was as if once his daughter nodded her head, Madame Armstrong would only agree. So, he wanted to stop that from happening.

"Celeste is an adult now and can make her own decisions." Her gaze shifted to Celeste, "Celeste, have you made up your mind?"

"As you have heard. That is my opinion." She paused briefly, "I will ask the lawyer to draft an official document to bind it. Until then, I need Papa to sign it." After finishing her sentence, Celeste said, "If there is nothing else, then I will return to my room."

Whatever needed to be gained and debated had already been concluded, so there was no longer any need for her to stay.

She turned and grabbed Aunt Ganna's shoulder, who was too startled to move, and slowly made her way to the floor of her little personal escape, which was her bedroom.

Silence engulfed the living room for a few moments, followed by Frodo's booming voice as he said, "Mom. How could you agree to let Celeste cut ties with the family? She is my daughter." The last sentence almost made him scream as loud as he could.

Mrs. Armstrong's face darkened even more as her always obedient son began to raise his voice at her. How could she be calm? Mrs. Armstrong reluctantly shouted, "She is a daughter who does not want you anymore. What does that have to do with me? Do not forget that he does not want this granny either."

Frodo sat on the couch desperately, holding his head in both hands and tugging at his thin hair. His chest felt suffocated, as if someone had stuffed a huge pile of rice into it and was choking him endlessly.

Damari could not stand Frodo's helpless attitude, "It was Celeste's decision to cut ties with us. It's not like we kicked her out of the house. Why are you showing a face like you are going to die?"

"How can you say that? He is your husband. What kind of attitude is that?" Mrs. Armstrong immediately felt displeased when she heard her son being yelled at by his wife. She could scold him any way she wanted because it was her son. However, when was Damari allowed to point fingers at her son in her face?

Damari was already annoyed at Mrs. Armstrong's agreement to give Celeste sixteen percent of the wedding dowry and now had to face her criticism again. The always pampered Damari refused to remain silent, "Mom. What have I said? Did I say something wrong? Mom, why did you agree to give her that wedding dowry? Don't you know that the Armstrong Company is already short of money? If we do not solve the problem of insufficient funding, we will all end up on the streets. Is that what you want to see?"

Receiving harsh words from her daughter-in-law in front of her son and granddaughter, that sharp and unkind nature was immediately provoked, "Oh, so the company's troubles were my fault? If you cannot manage company finances, let go from the start. Please do not blame me every time something goes wrong. Also, why did I agree to give Celeste the money? Isn't it because of the great daughter that you raised? If Julia did not lose money on gambling, then Celeste would not even have a chance to use this as a topic. Do you think I would be willing to give an outsider this large amount of money?"

Seeing how her child was looked down upon by the old Armstrong family woman, Damari could feel her growing anger. She raised her high-pitched voice to the loudest volume, "Mom. What makes you think that you can hate my daughter? Do not forget that she is also your granddaughter."

Mrs. Armstrong felt her breath panting with anger, "My granddaughter learned all these bad habits from a mother like you. Moreover, do you still dare to raise your voice here? Frodo, are you deaf? Can't you hear your wife raising her voice at your mother?"

Frodo suddenly got up, used the loudest volume in his life, and shouted, "Enough. Isn't this too much? Do you want to force me to death before you two finally stop?"
