While getting ready for work, Hannah noticed a letter on her vanity table. She had gone straight to bed last night and hadn't paid attention to anything else. When she saw the contents, it was a driver’s license. Hannah was overjoyed.
Hannah had been through a lot and had come a long way. She couldn't let this issue trip her up and hinder her progress.
“Alright, I will become an independent, fearless, and amazing woman,” she affirmed to herself.
Hannah hurried to the dining room, determined not to be weak anymore. Alden didn’t need to know, but it was enough for her to stop dwelling on the past. Didn’t Bernard say the same thing?
Hannah was startled to see Alden already in the dining room, his face looking grim and angry. What was going on so early in the morning that she had to see that gloomy face again?
“Sit,” Alden ordered, half shouting.
Hannah just stared at Alden in confusion. Then, Alden sudd
Hannah landed on the bed after a full day of work and meetings, feeling completely exhausted. She glanced at her phone, which read 7 PM, and Alden still hadn’t come home. He hadn't even sent a message.Alden was undoubtedly very busy, especially after signing the partnership deal with Giantic. There would be adjustments to be made, and that required extra hours at the office. Still, Hannah couldn't help but worry.Feeling uneasy, Hannah left the bedroom and walked wearily to the dining room. She wanted to skip dinner, but she felt bad knowing the maid had prepared everything since earlier in the afternoon. As she turned the corner in the corridor, she was startled, nearly bumping into Edward.“Mrs. Hannah, my apologies,” Edward said.“It’s okay. I was walking too fast.”“I wanted to deliver a message from the Young Master. He will be home late and won’t be able to join for dinner.”
Kenneth glanced at Sarah as they entered the house, noticing her pale and anxious expression. As Sarah tried to retreat to her room, Kenneth grabbed his sister's arm.“Why do you have to act like that?” Kenneth asked.“Act like what?”“Like you’re close and everything is fine. Tone down your friendliness, Sarah. I don’t want you getting into trouble with the Harrison family again. It’s enough that I don’t want you involved,” Kenneth said firmly.“Then what’s the point of you collaborating with Alden? Giantic Company. Do I need to remind you about that?”Sarah shrugged off Kenneth’s grip.If only Sarah had known that Alden was collaborating with Giantic, she wouldn’t have attended the gala dinner. Seeing Alden walking, laughing freely, and happy made Sarah even sadder. Alden’s happiness was no longer with Sarah, while when Alden was down, it was Sa
Hannah stepped out of the car and took in the magnificent exterior of the restaurant, with its tall pillars reminiscent of Greek architecture. As she walked inside, the opulent interior matched the grandeur outside.A red carpet with gold trim lined the corridor, and the white walls were adorned with golden accents. The tables were spaced apart, and the chairs had red velvet cushions with intricate carvings. It felt like a royal dinner setting. The gala dinner had about 30 guests, including colleagues and other invitees. Hannah felt uneasy, but she forced herself to attend the dinner with Alden. They sat at the central table with representatives from Giantic and some other directors who had already arrived. Alden glanced at the two empty chairs at their table but said nothing. While making small talk, they waited for the other guests to arrive and for the event to begin. Then, Hannah saw two people walking in, a man in a black suit and a woman in a sexy red dres
"Kenneth Young," Susan explained. The name wasn't familiar to Hannah, but the last name reminded her of someone."He's Sarah Young's brother. Your husband's ex-girlfriend," Susan continued.Hannah immediately felt uneasy. Why was Alden working with a company connected to Sarah's family? Was it intentional or just a coincidence? However, Hannah tried to think logically. In the business world, such things could happen. Personal matters shouldn't interfere with work. Besides, didn't Alden say that there was nothing between him and Sarah anymore? Everything he felt for that woman was gone.Hannah had no reason to worry. Or did she?"Hannah, are you okay?" Susan asked, noticing Hannah had gone silent. Susan looked guilty. "I shouldn't have brought this up. I'm sorry.""It's okay, Susan. I was just trying to remember if Alden ever mentioned Goldtime, but I don't think he did.""Don't worry about it. I only overheard it, and that was
Greece. It felt like a different world, and Hannah was truly amazed. The country was beautiful, especially when Alden took her to Santorini. The blue sea, the breezy air, and the unique and charming houses, predominantly white and blue, were breathtaking. However, Alden’s condition made it difficult for him to navigate the many stairs. Alden, wearing a thin white shirt, was drenched in sweat but never complained about being tired.“We should head back to the hotel,” Hannah suggested.Seeing Alden, Hannah felt terrible. Even though there were many places she wanted to visit, she didn’t want to make Alden suffer.“You still want to explore, don’t you?”“We can do it tomorrow.”They had arrived in Greece last night, stayed at a hotel, slept soundly, and headed to Santorini early in the morning. There were still several days left to explore, and Hannah wasn’t in a rush. The important th
Time passed quickly, and for months, Hannah dedicated herself to Alden’s recovery. She worked tirelessly at Texco, then accompanied Alden through his surgery, post-surgery, and therapy sessions. Hannah did all of this without complaint; in fact, she was enthusiastic about supporting Alden. On the other hand, Alden, who found new hope, showed significant improvement. His attitude became much better, and he was very affectionate toward Hannah. To Alden, Hannah was a source of new strength every day.People who saw their closeness felt it was a perfect love. Nothing could separate them.Alden could now use a walking aid, though still with a slight limp. It was a rapid improvement since his surgery two months ago. Hannah was really proud of Alden's determination. However, one thing was still bothering her: she hadn't shown any signs of pregnancy.Alden never brought it up, but Hannah often felt anxious about it.“I’m going to Goldtime
