Amanda's POVThe soft touch of a cool breeze against my skin roused me from my slumber. Slowly, my eyes fluttered open, my hands coming up to shield my eyes from the rays of sunlight peeking from the window. My body ached from working so late last night. I hadn't even gotten up to five hours of sleep and yet I had to get up as early as possible to avoid missing my flight. It was my last day in Manhattan, and it pained me to realize that the amount of money I'd made during my stay here would not do much for me. I groaned into my pillow as thoughts of the swarming debt my father had left behind for us. For years I'd tried not to hate him, but that proved difficult, seeing as my mother and I were practically swimming in debt! Amanda's POVMy chest felt like it was closing up. I drew in short, sharp breaths, struggling to breathe as reality dawned on me. The last five years of my life had been nothing but a cruel joke. "W-Why??!!" I let out a broken cry. "Why, Logan? Tell me why you would do something like this to me! How could you be cruel?!"He tried to clutch both my hands. "Amanda, you need to take a fucking chill pill!"Anger made my chest swell. "Don't tell me what to do!" I shoved him hard in the chest, pushing him into the wall repeatedly. "Is it true? What your so-called best friend said? Is it true, Logan?"The tears pooling in my eyes did not relent in spilling down my cheeks, and this time I did not even bother to wipe them away. I let them fall freely, the weight of the betrayal falling heavily on my shoulders. "You've been playing with my feelings this whole time? Look me in the eyes and tell me that the last five years meant nothing to you, that you are only using my intelligence! Tell me

Amanda's POVI winced as I downed my third shot of alcohol, feeling it burn my throat. "Another!" I yelled to the bartender over the loud music. He looked at me doubtfully, as if trying to imply that I'd had enough, but I shot him a glare sharp enough to slice him clean into two. Holding a hand up as if in surrender, he began to mix me a cocktail. My head spun as I buried myself into the chinc environment of the club. I had never been one to party or turn to alcohol, but things were obviously different tonight. After my encounter with the loan sharks of my agreement to pay off the loan tomorrow, I needed to clear my head somehow. My chest still ached from thoughts of Logan and all the pain he had caused me. At intervals, tears would fill my eyes, but I immediately shook them off and downed another glass of the tasteful-tasting"Here you go, sweetheart. Take it easy though…" the bartender said loudly over the music, sliding the shot over to me. I snatched up the glass. "Mind your f
