“I’m not your kind. I can’t be a mate.” Sybil suddenly said and she felt this kind of panic. There was no way. Look at him, look at who and what he was. She was just… Sybil. Sure she helped some people. The very idea of what he was saying seemed too much. How could she be a mate as he called it to someone rather powerful?
“You are. Kind does not matter. Mate to us are recognized by a soul Sybil.” His tone was rather sharp. “Why can’t you be mine?” He nearly demanded it. She realized that he might think she meant that she was too good or something. That maybe she looked down on him. That wasn’t what she meant and now she had to explain. She was horrible at this kind of thing.

Sybil took a breath and steadied herself to see Aries. Yes they were here to meet the healers but being around him suddenly made her feel nervous. Sybil and Morris came down the hall and into a nice sized open entryway. There were two large intricately carved wooden doors. Just looking at them, she knew that protection had been woven into the doors. They had large hinges and massive door handles. They were beautiful with their swirling patterns and old script on them. However there was a much smaller door built into the one and that was open. As she and Morris came into the room others were coming in from outside. You could feel the chill from the open door. He and several of his men had scouted a trail up to the large cave entrance a short distance above them. This entire mountain range was scattered with inter-connecting cave systems.
