Betrothed to another

Today is Friday! The most exciting day of Zelda's life. A day she had marked as the best day ever because she was going to get married to her soulmate, the one who had never ceased to make her heart ache.

His name is victor.

Zelda sat by the edge of her bed, admiring her bridal gown which hung on the dummy stand. It was so beautiful that she couldn't stop staring at it.

She has longed to wear a bridal gown. For years, Zelda watched her friends get mated while hers never showed up. She felt the moon goddess hates her so much for not giving her a mate at the initial stage.

But after Victor called her his mate, it's like she had kissed the feet of the moon goddess. And right now, she just can't wait for night to come.

"Isn't it beautiful?" She asked her maid, Stephanie, who was also admiring the gown.

"Of course, it is. I'm so happy for you, princess. Finally you have some one to call your own." She said with happiness.

Zelda heaved, the smile never leaving her face.

"I believe Victor will be excited as you are."

"You can say that again. We even talked throughout the whole night, and from the way he talked, I guess he is more excited than I am."

"Aww. I'm so happy for you, My Princess. We all are."

The night gradually came and the sun left to its nest, leaving them with darkness. Stephanie with some other maids helped her dress up. They applied makeup on her face, enhancing her beauty. She gave herself one last look, smiling at herself.

"Princess, every one is waiting for you." A maid informed.

"Let's get going." She said and Stephanie led the way.

When they got to the door of the ceremonial hall, Zelda's heart couldn't stop beating. A mixture of nervousness and curiosity stained her heart.

She took her time to breathe, inhaling and exhaling at the same time. "You look scared." Stephanie said, studying her countenance.

"Not really. I'm just nervous, that's all." She exhaled. "But don't worry, I'm happy too." She assured her.

She orders the guards to open the door which they did. While sheade her way in, her eyes searched every where for Victor but didn't see him. She thought maybe some thing was keeping him waiting.

She trusts Victor, he doesn't disappoint. Even if he was going to, he would inform beforehand. She didn't bother much, she wouldn't do any thing to make her night sad.

She bowed her head in respect to her parents. They welcomed her with a smile, gesturing to her to sit on the empty seat beside them.

"Father, when is Victor arriving?" She asked in anticipation.

The both couples glared at each other, "Dad? Mom? What's wrong?" She asked worriedly. "Did some thing happened to Victor? Is there some thing I have to know that you aren't telling me?"

"Well, sweetheart, everything is fine." Said her mother. "Victor actually said that he'd take a little longer to show up due to the traffic jam. But you don't have to worry, he's on his way."

Zelda was rest assured with her words, but after what took like minutes, Zelda grew worried again. She couldn't endure the fact that today was looking more like a disappointment to her, but she fought hard to wave the thought away from her mind.

"You look sad, Zelda, what's wrong?" Asked her father, seeing her countenance was sour.

"Father, he should be here by now. This is our wedding night. Take a look around, we're actually keeping the witnesses waiting which is unfair."

"They aren't complaining, sweetheart."

"Do they have to scream it loud before you know that this is taking too long already?"

Alpha Mason laughed. "Don't worry, tonight won't be a waste for any of us. Just a few minutes and he will be here, I can assure you that."

Zelda wasn't satisfied with what her father had just said, she knew some thing was wrong. Some thing must have happened and no one is telling her about it. This isn't the Victor she knows. The Victor she knew wouldn't keep her this long, especially on a night like this.

Alpha Mason's guard handed him his phone which he placed on his ear. After his conversation with the caller, a broad smile played on his face. Zelda thought it was a smile which told that Victor was finally close by.

She asked. "Is that Victor? Has he arrived?"

"Just a few seconds and the door will be opened." He said, the smile never leaving his face.

The door opened, causing great silence in the hall. Zelda's once calmed heart started beating again. Finally, he is here.

But then, the smile quickly fades away as she saw some one else who isn't Victor, some one who has nothing to do with him either. All the same, why is she seeing him and not Victor?

"Father, what is the meaning of this?" She demanded. "You said Victor is on his way, who the heck is this man?"

"Watch your words, sweetheart. This is Alpha Kent from Dark Moon Pack." He introduced.

"I don't fucking care!" She sparked, creating a scene. "I'm supposed to get married to Victor and not some kinda alpha of who-knows-where?! You two know how much I love Victor so much, yet all you have to do is marry me off to a stranger because you think being with an alpha is the best thing that can ever happen to me?!"

"Zelda…" her mother tried to calm her down.

"Just shut up, mother. Please, just shut up, okay?" She shushed her. "I thought you guys understood my feelings, I thought I had people to rely on, but I was wrong." She shook her head. "I'm so disappointed in the both of you."

"Zelda you need to calm down and let us…"

She didn't let her finish talking, she yanked. "Explain?" She scoffed. "Before you go further, maybe you should at least explain to me where the fuck is my fiance?" She turns to Alpha Kent who was listening to every drama that was going on.

"And to you, Mr, you better go home while you still can cos I ain't getting married to you."
