You can run but cannot hide

Even till the following day, Zelda and Victor couldn't be found. They had talked with the church priest about wedding them but he insisted that they needed a witness for the union.

They also explained to him that their parents had no idea about this since they were against their relationship. The priest urged them to get at least a witness before he could proceed with the union.

Zelda called her best friend Jessy to stand as a witness to her wedding. Jessy came a few minutes to seven since the wedding would be taking place by seven.

"What happened?" She asked Zelda while they make her up. "You guys were supposed to get married two nights ago."

"It's my parents. They had already arranged my marriage with another lunatic behind my back."

"Hold on. That means, they have no idea about this wedding?" Jessy asked.

"They have no idea of my whereabouts either. Well, that suits them, I'm done looking like an eggshell to them. I need to live my life the way I want, they can't just control my feelings any how because they are what exactly? My parents?" She scoffed.

She looked at the makeup artist. "This will do. I need this wedding to be done before eight."

Jessy held the end of her gown while they headed to the church. Victor was already at the altar, looking gorgeous in his black suit. Jessy let go of her gown while she made it further to the altar alone.

Standing face to face with Victor, the priest commenced with the union. "Do you, Victor, take Lady Zelda as your rightful and beloved wife. For better and for worse till death do you apart?"

"Yes, I do."

"Do you, Zelda, take Mr Victor as your rightful and beloved husband. For better and for worse till death do you apart?"

"Yes, I do."

"I hereby join you two as husband and wife, husband and wife." He proclaimed. "You may now kiss your bride."

Victor's face leaned close to Zelda, their lips met. While they kissed, Jessy kept clapping for them. Suddenly, the door barged open, their eyes all went to the door. Zelda was shocked to see the same man on her wedding night, standing at the doorstep of the church.

"What the fuck is he doing here?" She mustered.

Victor heard her. He looked at her, "Who is he?"

"The man my parents married me off to."

His guards stood at the door while he walked up to the altar, his face plastered with a smile as he approached them. Zelda's heart was racing in fear, who did he find them? She thought.

"Excuse me sir, are you related to any of the couples?" The priest asked.

"No, Reverend, I only came to take what belongs to me."

The reverend furrowed his brows at him. "I'm sorry, but the two have joined already. If you are to take her, it's already too late." Zelda wished what the priest had said would change Alpha Kent's mind.

"I don't care what your fucking tradition says, all I know is that the lady belongs to me."

"Not while I still have her." Victor spoke out.

Alpha Kent smirked, rolling his eyes. "I don't have to argue with you, kid, the union was only for a moment. And your moment has elapsed, I'm taking her with me"

"First, did you just call me kid?" He asked, pointing at himself.

"Victor, that's enough. Exchanging words with him won't do us any good."

"You heard what the little princess said. I ain't got no time for this. Now, give her to me." He demanded that he owned her.

"You're not taking her with you, and she is going nowhere." Victor stood his ground.

"Wow. That's brave of you. I bet your momma will be proud of you."

"I don't care whatever agreement you made with my parents, I am not going any where with you. I will not marry you. So you can do yourself a favor and return back to my parents, then you cancel whatever agreement you made with them."

"Well, it's not just an agreement, sweetheart, we made a deal. A deal is a deal, it can't be broken."

"I'm deeply sorry to interfere but I'll tell you, Mr, this couple has nothing to do with you. And by the words of the scriptures, you have no right to come between their marriage."

Alpha Kent respects the church, so he didn't want to have any long conversation with the priest. "You have only tonight to have her, so you better enjoy her in the best way you can." Then he looks at Zelda. "I'm coming back for you."

He left.

Zelda apologized to the priest for what happened. She also thanked Jessy for showing up, but Jessy was very interested to know why Alpha Kent desperately wanted Zelda.

"I have no idea what he had discussed with my parents. No one told me about him, no one told me I was going to get married to the alpha of Dark Moon Pack."

"Since he has said he made a deal with your parents, then I guess it's a give and take deal. But how did he find you?"

Zelda couldn't tell how. She had hid her scent from any one finding her, but how he got to know where she was baffled her.

"I wish I knew. Or could it be that he is monitoring me?"

"That's exactly what I was thinking. You have to be extra careful with that dude, he doesn't look trustworthy at all. I doubt he'll let you spend the night with Victor."

When night came, Victor was finding it hard to get away from the incident that took place in the church. He was feeling hunted and unsafe. He wanted Zelda to himself, to spend the rest of his life with her, but some how he feels that's a dangerous risk. And he doesn't want to push her away from his life all because of a random guy.

Zelda tries explaining to him to get over it and focus on why they are together. She wanted that night to be a memorable night since it was likely going to be their last night together.

But just like Jessy had said, Alpha Kent isn't to be trusted and he was definitely not going to let them spend the night together.

A knock came on the door, startling them.
