As the golden hues of the morning painted the sky, a black, sleek BMW rolled to a stop before the lavish iron gate of Crescent Academy, an elite, prestigious institution known only to the werewolf world.

The rising sun casts a warm glow over its grand façade, its towering pinnacles piercing the sky like ancient guardians.

Students in neatly pressed uniforms go about their activities moving around happily, their laughter and lively chatter echoing against the strong stone walls of the institution, full of anticipation for the day ahead.

The BMW came and halted smoothly at the entrance. Mildred exhaled, her heart feeling the weight of the mixture of both excitement and nerves. Stepping out of the car, a gentle breeze swept her hair and covered her face like a silk veil.

In that moment, she looked ethereal, serene, radiant, a morning blossom kissed by nature itself, her enchanting beauty captivating the onlooker.

Whispers followed her through the courtyard. She became the source of envy for all ladies, while the guys were captivated by her allure; they couldn’t take their eyes off her.

Yet, beyond the appeal, Mildred is kind-hearted, loving, and caring; her kindness makes her more captivating.

As she approached the gate, two Bentleys pulled up, and the whole school erupted wildly, almost instantly.

Ohm... my Goddess those are the almighty K. G’S cars, someone squealed.

“This is the best morning, the most glorious mornings ever, to be able to see the two male gods, at the same time, he fantasizes. All the student made their way towards the cars.

Mildred stood aside, watching the chaos unfold. Annoyance tightened her chest. With a huff, she walks away.

Gray and Kaden stepped out of their Bentleys, just in time to see her leaving.

“Sweet pie!” Gray called,

“Wait for us!” Kaden follows suit.

“Oh, Moon Goddess,” Mildred muttered. “Can’t I avoid these two peacefully? They keep hunting me like some sort of ghost.”

She turns to face them. I could barely escape them yesterday, and here they are, looking like some sort of Greek gods. Looking as hot as ever.

Very annoying.

YESTERDAY

Mildred, her eyes wide while staring at her two best friends, well, former best buddies as she convinces herself, her heart has been hitting so hard on the rib cage of her chest, panicked, she opens her mouth to say something, but no words could form, she just tried her lips.

Hey “sweet pie”, why does it look like you have seen a ghost? Do we look like ghosts to you? Kaden asked as they walked towards her.

Suddenly, a car came, it was an Alpha Bright car, Grey! Kaden! Get in the car quickly, there is an emergency, Alpha Bright called. Mildred ran to him, Is everything alright? She asked. Yes, he responded with a nod. Can I follow you? She asked again, No, we can handle everything, so you can just continue enjoying your coffee and make sure you are back home early. With that, they drove off.

Mildred stood there looking at nothingness. Tessy walked up to her and looked in the direction her eyes were. I can sense that something bad is coming, but they should be fine for now, right?

Present

As we walked through the corridor to my class, which is close to the principal’s office, everyone was staring at us as we walked, and murmurs could be heard in the background, which included excited giggles. The hall was crowded than usual, everybody was out to see their famous handsome alphas.

I got tired of it and turned and faced them. Why are you guys here? I asked with a bit of annoyance in my tone.

First of all, we came to see the principal, and secondly, “sweet pie,” will you stop being angry with us or stop avoiding us, Gray pleaded, his eyes searching for reassurance. His passionate gaze makes my heart beat a million times, we weren’t like this before he added, yes, we weren’t like this before you two shut me out of your life, our lives were perfect Gray, before you destroy it, you broke our sixteen years of friendship, I spoke as tears stream down my face, my heart filled with pain of being abandoned by the two most important people in my life.

Mildred! Kaden shouted, We didn’t abandon you, we were protecting you, we didn’t want you to be involved in our problems, A flicker of pain crossed his face, his brow furrowing briefly.

When has your problem ceased to be mine? She asked, tears streaming down her cheeks, her pain emanating from the depth of her heart, I thought we were a team, she asked again. Kaden wiped her tears with his hands and pulled her to his warm embrace. She wanted to resist but held her tight. She couldn’t hold herself in anymore and cried loudly.

Kaden stroked her back gently, comforting her, “Sweet pie.” We didn’t tell you because we love you; it's not because we didn’t see you as a team member. Mil, you're more than family to us, and we love you so much. Mildred was still sniffing on Kaden’s arm, then why did you desert me, she asked through her cries.

Because we love you and didn’t want what we did to affect you or your future, you are going to be a good alpha and we can’t ruin it for you.

Mildred picks her head from Kaden’s chest and looks at him confusedly, then she stares at Gray, giving him a questioning look, but none of them could speak, What is happening, guys she asked, Why was I shot out of your lives, and how is that going to affect my future as an alpha? I want to know, she said, and yet again they remained silent, not uttering a single word. She was devastated; her eyes were red from anger, and she clenched her hands until her nails were piercing through her flesh.

Fine, you won’t say a word about it, but I want to know something, is it bad? she asked calmly, Yes, Gray answered, how bad is it? She asked again, very, very bad, he answered with a sign, and if anyone finds out, we won’t be alphas anymore, Kaden added.

Mildred’s eyes widened in shock, her breath catching in her throat, how did you guys end up with something as grave as that? She asked, shock etching across her face. Gray looked tense, his brow furrowed. It wasn’t intentional. We tried to stop it from happening, but we couldn’t. Kaden squeezed his shoulder in reassurance.

Mildred pulls herself out of Kaden's embrace, “she reached out to Gray and gently brushed and touched his cheeks, It's going to be alright, she said.

Suddenly, there was a loud rumble, buildings were falling apart, children were screaming as they ran towards the school hall, They are here, Kaden said, That was too fast, Mildred looked at the two of them, her body shaking from fear.

What is happening guys? She asked, The Lycans, we are under attack, but why will they attack us? Is it not like we have any grudge against them? She was again.

But we have a thousand-year grudge with the present Lycan king, I suspect that his mate was killed by a werewolf, which resulted in this, Gray explained. What do we do she asked. Gray drew her for a hug and stroked her hair, We are going to be fine, but first, let’s go to the principal’s office.

They ran to the principal’s office and found him walking restlessly. As soon as he saw them, he breathed a sigh of relief, thank goddess you are here, here is the key to the hidden room, please be safe, our future is in your hands.

Where are you going? Kaden asked, " Is it dangerous out there, Mildred added, her voice cracking.

The principal stepped forward, his face pale but resolute. “I’m not going in there with you,” he said firmly. “This school, these students… I’ve sworn to the moon goddess and the alpha to protect them. I won’t hide while others fight.”

“But sir- “Mildred began, her voice cracking.

“No,” he cut in, his tone unwavering. “I know the risks’ but if there’s any chance I can help; I have to take it,”

Before another word could be spoken, the door burst open with a deafening crash.

Sheards flew. The wall groaned. Standing in the doorway was a towering figure, broad shoulders and heavy breath with glowing savage gold Lycan. But not just any Lycan.

“The Beta,” Gray whispered, his arms tightening around Mildred. “They found us,”

The Beta snarled, scanning the room, lips curled back to reveal sharp fangs. His voice was in a low growl. He rushed towards them, growling at them. They were frightened by the shiver, and the Beta shifted to his human form instantly.

“You thought you could hide from us?” Too bad you're with her.

For some reason, our alpha could smell her scent, and he tracked her down to this place. He gave an eerie smile. “They were too scared to speak,” their eyes wide open, their bodies shimmering from an unknown cold, they couldn’t lift their feet or open their mouth.

Just then, two Lycans walked to the office. He ordered them to take the boys, including the principal, and he took Mildred with him. That was when they all came out of their shock.

Let me down Mildred shouted as she tried to free herself from him. He tossed her angrily, and he aimed at the back of her neck.

Everywhere went silent.

BAH!

A loud thud echoed,

  • Mated Curse    CHAPTER FIVETEEN

In a vast ethereal hall, a lady sat on a throne as if she had always been there, as if the universe itself had been shaped around her presence. The throne was carved from a living moonstone, pale and luminous, veined with slow-moving light that pulsed like a celestial heartbeat. It hovered slightly above the palace floor, untouched by gravity, untouched by time. Every edge shimmered with radiant silver, not sharp, not harsh, but soft like the moonlight filtering through mist. Her skin glowed with a pearlescent shine, neither fully light nor shadow, but something in between. It reflected the soft blues and silvers of the palace, as if she carried the night within her flesh. Her hair flowed down her back in waves of liquid silver, long and endless, drifting as though no wind stirred the air. Tiny fragments of starlight clung to it shimmering gently, as if the heavens themselves had kissed her strands. Each movement of her head caused galaxies to shift with it.Her eyes… Ah, her eye.

  • Mated Curse    CHAPTER FOURTEEN

KADEN POVEverything stood still. That even my breath could be heard, not wanting to interfere with everything, I struggled to step back because the force was too strong for me; it was a power from another level, a power beyond anything I had ever faced. I have had a fair share of fights with every known race in this world, bled against creatures of myth and legend, yet none of them had ever radiated such power like this. What terrified me most wasn’t the power. It’s my mate, who is still in there, I don’t know how they will cope with it when even I, the strongest Lycan, couldn’t, I wish I could save them after this, if not Keal will kill me.He has threatened to take over, but I talked him out of it, because we couldn’t risk drowning if he got angry and shifted, he wouldn’t be able to swim, so I have to save them no matter the cause. I struggled to move forward, even though the power was too strong; then something happened. The water, which was everywhere, started finding its way

  • Mated Curse    CHAPTER THIRTEEN

RICK’S POVThe ceiling stared back at me, blank and unforgiving, as if judging me, for capturing my mate, I lay motionless on the bed, unsure how long I had been there. I had been there for minutes, maybe hours.Time had lost its meaning and anything that had meaning before, the moment my chest began to ache in that slow, unbearable way, deep and constant, like something vital was being torn from me inch by inch.It felt too quiet, too empty, even the air seemed heavier, pressing down on me as if it knew I didn’t have the strength to push back.Keal was awake inside me, restless but silent, his grief projecting mine. No growls, no rage, just a dull, constant weight, like mourning without tears.I turned my head to the side, staring at nothing, but feeling everything. His face. his smile. His existence. The truth I couldn’t escape facts. He wasn’t mine.Even though the mate bond burned inside me, it pains piercing right into my heart, I would never surrender to it. my heart ache, I

  • Mated Curse    CHAPTER TWELVE

MILDRED POVAt first, I thought I was dreaming.Water glittered at my feet, cool, clear, it was rippling where the ground should have been solid. It rose slowly, creeping higher, above the ground level. Though there was no river nearby, no river nearby, only the steady hush of rain.Cold seeped into my bones, not just my body but my life. I knew this wasn’t a place meant to be wet… yet the water wrapped around me all the same. I could feel it deep inside me.“Mildred!” Kaden’s voice sliced through the haze. I opened my eyes fully and panic seized me, water flooded the dungeon, swallowing the ground beneath us. “What happened?” I asked, my voice cracking. “It’s a flood,” he shouted. “I think the whole place is flooding!”“How?” I gasped. “How is this possible?”“It has been raining heavily” he said, glancing around as water continued to rise, “And the dungeon is filling up.”That made no sense.I stood up, but the current slammed into my legs, knocking me off balance. The water cl

  • Mated Curse    CHAPTER ELEVEN

CHAPTER 11 The night split open with a roar of thunder, dark clouds swallowed the moon, overpowering the world’s shadow, a reckless wind howled through the trees, bending them like frightened servants before a wrathful king. A moment later, the heavens broke loose. Rain crashed down in torrents, wild unrelenting, merciless. Each drop struck the earth like a hammer, turning the quiet village into a trembling sea of mud. Illuminating rooftops, terrified faces, and the rising waters that swallow the streets. Within minutes, the ground disappeared beneath swirling waves. The flood surged through doorways and alleys, dragging away baskets, firewood, and anything foolish enough to resist it, the once familiar path vanished, replaced by an agitating, angry current that reflected the stormy heaven roar of the flood. And through it all, the storm raged on, wild and untamed, as if the sky itself were mourning, or warning, of what was yet to come. Rick stood at the window watching the thurmi

  • Mated Curse    CHAPTER TEN

Mildred woke up to a damp, ancient smell, one that felt like the place hadn’t been occupied in ages. As her eyes adjusted, looking at the surroundings, her heart hitched. The dungeon stretched before her like a forgotten cathedral of sorrow. Iron bars rose like cold prayers; the chains lay coiled like the serpents dreaming of their next captive. And the air tasted of rust and forsaken oaths; each breath reminded her that even stone remembered pain.Someone was lying before her. The room was pitch black, so she couldn’t see the person, and the smell of rust masked every other smell. So she couldn’t smell him.“You’re awake? A calm gentle voice asked. “Do you need water?” he asked again. Her throat burned. “Yes,” she whispered. He handed her a flask. She took the water and drained it down in one gulp. “Thank you,” she muttered.“What’s your name?” he asked. “Mildred,” she responded.Werewolf, right? She nodded. “Yes.” “Forgive my ill manners,” he said softly. “My name is Alex. I
