Lilith's POV

'Slap'

'Slap'

"Wrench!" Cassandra, Raider's new mate, yelled as she kept slapping me, her face pulled together in an angry scowl. I felt my skin sting from where her claws had grazed my skin; the metallic taste of blood seeped into my mouth from how hard she had been slapping me.

"I asked you to prepare the blue dress first so I could wear it to the pre-wedding banquet, and you went to prepare the green dress for me! Are you trying to ruin my joyous day just because you can't have one??" She yelled as she threw another slap in my face. I whimpered in pain, holding back the scream that threatened to fall from my lips.

'I won't cry. 'Not in front of her!' I repeated it and repeated it to myself.

"Pathetic fool!" She yelled into my face as she landed another slap on my face. "The banquet is almost here, and I haven't even gotten halfway dressed because of your clumsiness! Are you dumb? Can't you speak?!" She demanded angrily as I kept silent.

The commotion soon attracted Raider into the room. He walked in fully dressed in a black tuxedo paired with a brown dress shoe. He stood beside Cassandra, his arms protectively wrapping around her waist, as he glared at me.

"What has she done to annoy you again?" He asked as he kissed her on the forehead. She whimpered and pouted while looking up at him with a coy expression. "I asked her to prepare the blue dress you got for me so I could wear it to the pre-wedding banquet, but she prepared the green one instead," she whimpered, and Raider frowned.

"I thought we agreed you were to wear the green one first? And you even made sure to supervise the preparation; she didn't make any mistakes, babe," Raider explained, and Cassandra's face turned ugly the next moment as she pushed him off.

"Are you taking her side right now?! Are you calling me a liar? You are tired of me, and you want to go back to your ex?" She demanded coldly as she pulled my hair, dragging me around as she let out her anger on me.

Raider massaged his nose bridge and let out a sigh. "I'm not taking her side! I'm not! You are the one I love, not her, so why would I want to be with her instead of you? Come on, the banquet is about to start; you can deal with her later," he explained, trying to make her calm down.

With a sneer, she released my hair and pushed me against the wall. "Do you hear that? I'm the one he loves, and no matter what tricks you pull, he can never be yours." She declared triumphantly while looking down at me.

"Aren't you going to stand up and get my dresses ready?! If anything goes wrong with my day, I promise you a life of hell!" She declared as she threw another kick at me, "My heart ached and my blood boiled with rage as she gave me a gloating look, sticking out her tongue in my direction.

Without giving them the satisfaction of seeing me cry, I walked out of the room and immediately went to prepare the dress, only for her to end up wearing the blue dress that I had first prepared for her.

"You are not permitted to enter the hall or go back to your hole until everyone has returned to their homes after the banquet." Cassandra instructed me as I escorted her to the back door of the banquet hall with the rest of the omegas assigned to her for the night.

"I would have loved to see your pathetic reaction as I get married to your mate, but your filthy appearance will ruin my food mood, and I don't want that, so as punishment, you will be waiting here for the rest of the night. You are not permitted to talk to anyone or answer any questions; am I understood?" She demanded with a glare directed at me.

"Yes," I replied, my tone devoid of any emotion. Not that I was capable of having any. I had been completely broken the day I was forced to watch my parents die under the influence of wolfsbane.

It was a slow and painful dying process that had lasted for a while. I had watched for the first time how a father cried after losing his mate, only for him to die not long after.

No other emotion could compare to the pain I felt that night or the days following, where I would dream about the scene over and over again.

I wanted revenge, of course; any normal person would, but this was the last request from my father.

'Forgive them' he had said; no, he pleaded, and despite the pain he was feeling, he never closed his eyes until he heard my promise.

There was nothing else to live for, so what's the essence of having emotions that can easily be manipulated by the people who wanted nothing but to see you crumble, begging for your life?

I thought I had shut out my heart, that I had shut down my emotions. Yet the scent of rain and apples drifted into my nose, triggering all the buried emotions I had awakened with the sleeping wolf.

As the scent drew closer, I felt safe yet anxious.

What is this?

What does this mean for your wrenched moon goddess? Are you trying to make my life a joke?

As I tried looking up to see who the scent belonged to, I felt a slap on my face and noticed Cassandra had gotten dangerously close to my face. "I told you to address me as Luna, you..." Before she could finish her words, a growl resounded around.

"How dare you lay your hands on her!" I heard as my eyes began to blur.

'I'm exhausted'

'I want it all to end here and now' I thought to myself as I felt a strong hand wrap around my waist, the last thing I heard before I welcomed the darkness, a word I never wanted to hear again.

"Mate!”

  • Mated To Alpha Gregory    Chapter 171 The Birth of Hope

Adams' POVThe forest appeared ahead covered with an uneasy feeling. As I guided my men into the Green Forest Pack’s territory, I felt the heavy crown on my head.It was a steady reminder of my responsibilities as Alpha, and King of all the Packs. My warriors were nearby, their faces tensed with anticipation, ready to battle, but the deep silence unsettled even the most seasoned of them.“What's happening?” Ronan, my Beta, whispered, looking at the trees as if they might suddenly attack us.“Be careful!” I said, looking closely at the darkening sky. “We might be walking into a trap.”Next to me, Lilith rode, her calmness a source of comfort. She looked at me, and said, “No matter what comes, we will handle it.”I nodded, feeling thankful for her bravery. We had made it too far and given up too much to stop now. Together we moved forward deeper into the Pack.By the time I stepped on the boundary, I expected trouble, but the woods were strangely quiet. I noticed my men sharing anxious

  • Mated To Alpha Gregory    Chapter 170 The In-law Pack

Adams' POVA thick silence covered the battlefield as the last sounds of fighting disappeared. I stood among the leftovers of the fight finally feeling my breath steady again. The harsh truth hit me. It was finished. The rogue army led by the traitor Augustus had been defeated. Their threats will no longer hang over my packs and I will not have to be afraid of backstabbers anymore.“We did it, Adams,” Lilith said quietly, her voice a mix of relief and surprise. She moved closer, her bright green eyes looking into mine. “It is finally done.”A huge weight lifted off my chest at her words. “Yes... it is settled.” Our eyes met and at that moment every other thing felt unimportant. I pulled her close, ignoring our friends and the signs of the battle, kissing her passionately. The salty flavor from sweat and dirt dripped down my throat, but in her presence even the bad feelings turned good. We hugged each other tightly, connecting our hearts as one, enjoying the joy of our victory, and fin

  • Mated To Alpha Gregory    Chapter 169 Who Won the Fight?

Lilith's POVAn intense fear took hold of me, making me feel cold all over, and it seemed unyielding and harsh. With determination, I shouted out, “You will never be able to have me!” deep inside, I understood that my words were unlikely to have any effect on him.I turned my eyes toward Adams, hoping to see some sign of reassurance from him, but sadly, he was caught up in a fierce struggle with Ben.“Get behind me!” Adeline shouted fiercely, showing her teeth in a threatening way as she got ready to protect me.However, Augustus’s laughter filled the air, such a disturbing sound that sent shivers through my body.“It's pointless,” he said, lifting his hand and carelessly flinging Adeline away as if she were just a small bother to him. She fell onto the grassy ground, but as soon as she got back up, her anger burned even brighter.“All of you are so weak and pathetic. Did you honestly believe that you could possibly oppose someone like me?”“Augustus, you really don't recognize our tr

Lilith's POVThe rogue army charged through the broken and ruined gates, moving with a sense of urgency. My heart was seriously thumping loudly in my chest, like a drum that wouldn't stop, pushing me to do something, to respond to the situation.“Adams!” I mind-linked, trying to get his attention. Lexi caught a quick sight of our mate as he began to change, his body transforming further, his Lycan features gradually taking over. His muscles moved and shifted beneath the bright, fiery fur that covered him. He was a strong and fierce wolf, fully prepared to take charge.“Do not move from that spot, Lilith!” he growled with his voice deep and rough. As he jumped into the chaos of the fight, his strong arms and legs pushed him ahead with great force.I felt a mix of emotions inside me as I had control of my body; I was proud of him for being so brave, but at the same time, I couldn’t shake off the feeling of anxiety and concern. However, I found myself unable to move from my spot. I could

  • Mated To Alpha Gregory    Chapter 167 The Breach

Lilith's POVAs I walked slowly beside Adams, my heart beat hard and fast in my chest. Below the ramparts a terrific battle was going on, and it was intense to witness. Two wolves fighting each other—a fierce and savage dance involving their sharp claws and powerful teeth. The air was filled with the wild and piercing sounds of battle cries which vibrated through the ground under our feet. I became more alert and focused with each second that passed. “Look over there!” I said excitedly, pointing my finger towards something I recognized among the group of troublemakers.“It is the Green Forest, my home pack! I can’t believe they would turn against us like this. How could they do something so hurtful?”Adams' spoke to me, “Ben has influenced their thoughts in a very negative way. He had convinced them that they would take control and gain power. He will not give up until he has succeeded in tearing us apart completely.”“Then we will demonstrate to them exactly what loyalty really mean

  • Mated To Alpha Gregory    Chapter 166 It Begins

Lilith's POVI was standing at the edge of the tall stone walls and I suddenly felt my breath catch in my throat. I looked down at the huge army of wolves that had gathered below me.Their fur was shining and sparkling, catching what little light was left in the sky as the sun started to set. The wolves were making deep low growling sounds that combined into a sound like a heavy dark hum that I could feel deep inside of me.I realized that Augustus had finally come, and I could sense that a big battle was about to take place. It appeared as if a dark cloud was hovering over us ready to unleash terror at any point.“Just take a look at them,” I said quietly in a whisper, as my heart beat loudly in my chest. I turned to Adams, who was standing right next to me.He appeared completely unfazed by what was happening. I noticed that his striking blue eyes were fixed intensely on the dark wave of people stretching out across the field and I couldn’t help but admire how calm and collected he
