LOGINChapter 5
Lyra POV
Caius’s hand rests on my chin for quite some time, his gaze fixed upon me through those dark eyes in a way that takes my breath away entirely, while the sheer security that emanates from him leaves me feeling more protected than I had ever felt since being with Kael.
“Lyra, we will protect you, but there is something that you must realize about what happened to you today,” Lucien tells me, coming over from the shadowed corner of the room with a very ancient-looking scroll in his hands.
"Your family line isn't weak or defective at all, because you actually belong to an ancient Alpha bloodline that everyone believed was completely erased generations ago, and your parents hid your identity to save your life."
"What are you even talking about, Lucien, my parents were just regular pack members who died in the border skirmish," I say, shaking my head as I pull away from Caius's touch, but the serious look on all three brothers' faces tells me he isn't joking.
"They lied to you to keep you alive, Lyra, because there is an ancient prophecy that explicitly states a female heir carrying the Triple Bond will either unite all the Alpha bloodlines or burn the packs to absolute ash," Lucien explains, sitting down right across from me, and the words make my blood run entirely cold.
"The Triple Bond means us, Lyra, and whoever manipulated Kael into rejecting you publicly knew exactly what they were doing," Ronan chimes in, his fingers tapping against the armrest of his chair with a dangerous rhythm.
"Your rejection wasn't just a random act of cruelty from a selfish prince, because someone intentionally pushed Kael to dump you so that your dormant bond with us would awaken and expose your true powers to the world."
"So Kael was just being used in all this?" I ask in an almost inaudible tone of voice as I struggle to understand how everything that ever happened in my life was based on one huge and scary deception.
"Yes, and at the moment the academy council is having a special meeting considering your expulsion from the school, and other rival packs have already started scouting out for you," Caius retorts, getting up from his seat and pacing around the room in front of the fireplace.
A figure moves outside the big window behind me near the porch; and before Ronan could even take out his weapon, the door gets kicked off its hinges, and in stands Kael with an entirely shocked expression on his face.
"Is that really so? Has anyone been using me to get to her?" Kael asks with both anger and shock evident in his tone of voice, as he fixes his gaze on Lucien.
"I heard what you said about the prophecy, and if Selene Ashford orchestrated that public humiliation just to get me to reject my own mate, I will personally rip her family apart."
"Get out of our house, Kael, you made your choice at the ceremony and you don't get to act like a concerned fiancé now," Ronan snaps, stepping between Kael and me with his fangs fully bared, his Alpha aura flaring up to push his stepbrother back into the cold night air.
"I didn't know, Ronan I swear I didn't know what she really was " Kael says, his eyes begging me to look at him, instead I turn my back on him completely. I refuse to forgive him.
I'm too tired to talk to him, so I lean into Cauis arms and Fall asleep.
The next morning we have a mandatory public training event on the main grounds. The entire student body gathers near the forest boundary where The professors set up wards.
Hundreds of eyes watch my every move and it feels unusual. They're not staring at me in hate but instead like a puzzle they can't solve. Selene is standing away with a group of older wolves and they don't look like students. She went from leading a group of girls set to bully me to hanging out with older wolves? Something isn't right.
"Stay close to us Lyra. Something feels really wrong about this " Lucien says, His hand resting on my shoulder as We line up on the grass.. Before the headmaster can give the signal to start a series of loud howls echoes from the tree line.
Huge rogue wolves burst through the academy boundaries, bypassing the guards. The rest attack the students while Three of them charge toward me, Their jaws are wide open.
"Get behind me!" Ronan shouts as he throws his body in front of the rogue.. The beast catches him off guard, Its silver-tipped claws tearing deeply into his shoulder. Blood sprays across the grass.
Ronan groans in pain, collapsing to one knee while he other two rogues circle around him to get to me. The sight of his blood makes me furious and immediately A wave of anger consumes me and Before I can think about running my bones crack loudly and I shift into my wolf form for the time in my life.
The entire training field falls silent as everyone stares at me. It stands twice as tall as any Alpha in the academy. Its fur is white, as snow, Its eyes glow silver. They radiate ancient power.
The three rogues freeze in terror and Their ears flatten against their skulls. When I let out a roar the beasts drop to their bellies, whimpering like pups.
I take a step forward, My massive paws leaving prints in the dirt. I take a look around the arena and Every student and professor drops to their knees. They are conquered by my power.
Kael falls to his knees with the rest, His wide eyes are fixed on my form. He looks filled with despair, as the realization settles in, he didn't reject a wolf, He rejected the supreme Alpha queen of the packs. Now his stepbrothers are her MATES
CHAPTER 21Selena’s POVI kept on glancing behind me as I hurried out of the academy to avoid being caught, the dread in me after the incident with that professor has refused to leave me cause if he knows about it, I can’t help but wonder how many people also know about it.“There’s… there’s…” I stammered as I stood before him breathing heavily.“The last mission was a success,” the stranger said, his voice a low, raspy velvet that always made the hairs on my arms stand up. "But your work is far from finished, Selena. You have more tasks to do and if I’m you, I’d do it like my life depends on it cause it does, any mistake from you would cost you your life and…”"there’s a problem and we need to handle it as soon as possible or else it’s turn in to a massive problem for us," I interrupted, my voice trembling despite my best efforts to sound composed. I stepped forward, gripping the edge of the table. "I don’t know how he knows about me being your spy and our dirty works but he knows ab
Chapter 20 Lyra's POV My breath came out in heavy gasps and my muscles burned. It seemed like liquid fire was moving through my joints. I clenched my teeth and folded my palms so tight that the veins on my hands stood on end. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Caius approaching me and I wanted to tell him off. I didn't feel like myself. I had almost no control over my body. It felt like I was about to burst into flames. “Are you okay?” Caius rubbed my shoulders. I inhaled deeply, a part of me hoping that his scent would ground me. It didn't. It only lit a fire in my chest. I groaned. “Maybe we should retire for the day.” He said as he tried to pull me off the ground. I didn't move. I wanted to go with him but my body had a mind of its own. He knitted his brows as he tried again. This time, I saw the fear in his eyes. He let me go and dropped on his knees beside me. The training grounds buzzed with activities happening around but suddenly the noise started to grow distsnt
Chapter 19Lyra's POV We returned to Blackthorn by midnight. My limbs hurt from walking the distance and my hands still shook from the experience. Caius lead the way while Lucien walked by my side, our fingers intertwined. I fell asleep the second my body to seeuched the mattress. I was that exhausted. When I woke up the next morning, the boys were still asleep. I slipped on a robe and stepped out. I inhaled the moist morning air deeply. I needed to go on a walk to clear my head. Everything was happening too fast and it was all too confusing for me to understand. It almost felt like something was trying to snuff the air out of me. I couldn't control my wolf or the way I felt around the Voss brothers. They had refused to claim me because my wolf was too unstable. I sat down beside a lake at the back of the house and stared at the water. A family of ducks were swimming across. They all looked so peaceful and I envied them. When was the last time I had ever felt genuinely happy?
CHAPTER 18LYRA’S POV"Lyra, watch out!" Caius roared, shooting the Dread walker in the chest and he really died. “I think I told you to get out of your head, do you plan on getting us killed? And who told you to join in the fight?”“Cauis, this is not the place for that. Being shot in the chest kills them, focus on that information before you get us killed.” Lucien snapped as he smiled at me and threw a shotgun at me.It was like a shooting spree where the main character tried to not get killed by the villian and making sure to shoot the villian on their chest. It was messy but it was all going in our favor until… one of the dread walkers grabbed me by my neck and formed a barrier between us and the ongoing war.‘So, this is the end. I won’t even have a chance to enjoy life before I die. Welp!’ I thought as I closed my eyes ready for the death to come when a memory suddenly hit me, it was like a vision cause the memory doesn’t belong to me.I saw this valley, it was filled with peopl
CHAPTER 17Lyra’s POVI heard a loud and obnoxious scream but it was surprisingly not from any of us. So, we stopped in shock wondering where who screamed when we felt an unnatural cold breeze blew through he dead trees. It was terrifying cause it literally sent shivers and cold through my whole being. “What’s going on? Lucien, I’m scared to death. Let’s leave this place.” I muttered in fear.“Calm down, we are also scared but going out of here without finding what we came for is not an option, so we must face this together even if it’s cost us our lives. Hopefully, Ronan would find us and save us.” Lucien replied while Cauis just scoffed.Weird and scary looking creatures suddenly crawled out of the wall, they were dressed like guards with mask on, why do they have mask on? And why is that symbol on the mask? They were growling at us as if they were daring us to make any wrong move. “What are these things and why do they look so disgusting?” I asked, staring at them with a disgusti
Chapter 16Selena's POV In all my years of knowing Kael, I had never seen him look as helpless and distraught as he did these days. He spent hours moping around and speaking to himself, scheming how to get Lyra back. His behaviour sickened me and his weakness irritated me. I pulled out my chair noisily as I sat in front of him. He didn't even blink in my direction. I rolled my eyes and tried to focus on the ongoing lecture. “Can Miss Lyra answer the question?” The tutor said and when there was no response, she turned around. Lyra wasn't in class. “Lyra?”“She’s absent.” I said, disgust curling my lips. Kael suddenly snapped out of his thoughts and got on his feet. “Where is she?”“Probably out there killing someone else.” Someone muttered beneath his breath. Kael gasped and his eyes thinned. “What did you just say?” He growled. The class fell silent and even the tutor edged closer to the door. I leaned back and watched Kael spiral because of Lyra. The jokes write the

Chapter 2Lyra POVThe beeping of a heart monitor was the first thing i heard before i could even slowly open my eyes, and my whole body was achy, like i was hit by a car, which made me moan as I attempted to change my position on the hard mattress. I squinted at the blinding white ceiling, stunne
Chapter 1Lyra POVI have completely lost track of the number of times I tried to fix my collar. Because I knew deep down that all I was really trying to do was to prevent myself from trembling at the ceremonial Hall. It was the day I have been dreaming about ever since I turned eighteen, the day w
