Thorne's POV

"Do you think it's fair to traffick little children?" My voice was low, my fists clenched at my sides, nails digging into my palms.

“That’s the only way I’m surviving,” he said with a shrug, not a hint of remorse in his tone.

I exhaled slowly through my nose, jaw tightening as fury bloomed in my chest. I’d seen monsters before—hell, I’d been one. But the calm in his voice? That cold, empty tone? It made my knuckles itch with the urge to break something. He wasn’t even ashamed. Not even a flicker of regret in his eyes.

This man—this thing—was the one who snatched kids from their families, drugged them, sold them like animals. And worse? He was one of the key suppliers to Alpha Darien’s filthy network.

I’d already told Nathan—my closest ally in this war—to make sure this bastard didn’t survive this time. And Nathan? He’d done it. He and the others had intercepted the van, rescued the kids, and sent them back to their families. Safe and alive.
