(Olivia's POV)

I was born on a moonless night, according to my foster parents. My real parents didn't want me and threw me out, and my foster parents were lucky enough to adopt me.

"Who would want a wolfless girl like you? You have no wolf, and you shouldn't dream big of becoming anything important in this pack," my foster mother, Nancy George, had told me.

I was bullied growing up and forbidden from doing anything.

However, I overcame all that after I finished my schooling at the pack's high school, and I set out to apply for admission to the pack's university.

On this Saturday morning, I decided to inform my foster mother, Nancy, about my interest in gaining admission to the pack's university to study medicine, as I wanted to help the pack members.

As a seventeen-year-old girl, I had seen many of our pack members fall sick, and this sparked a desire in me to study medicine to help them.

As I woke up in my room on the second wing of the mansion, I breathed out heavily, knowing that I had to try my luck with my foster mother. She could be cruel to me sometimes as she pampered her own daughter, Emily. But I had to try. It was my only hope and chance of gaining admission into the pack's university, which was expensive.

My foster mother, Nancy George, worked as a nurse in the pack's hospital, and her husband was a lawyer, even though they were delta wolves. They were rich from working and taking care of their two children, Mark and Emily, and they spoiled them.

Mark was a twenty-four-year-old guy and was hardly at home, but, strangely, he had returned home. He was a basketball star and had his own money, but he was spoiled and had several girlfriends, whom he often brought home. His mother would never reprimand him for it; she would encourage him not to take any of those girls seriously and to wait for his fated mate.

However, I couldn't blame Mark; he was rich, together with his parents' wealth. The young ladies in our pack, the Star-field Pack, loved him.

As I got out of my bed, wearing a white dress, I made my way to the living room, seeing it was already past 8 a.m. The day was bright and sunny, and I needed to push my luck. I had no wolf because of my history of being born on a moonless night, so I was like a curse and not fully a werewolf like them.

As I approached the living room, walking down the corridor, I heard Emily's excited voice: "Mom, I still cannot believe it that Daniel Ryan, the Beta's son, is asking me to be his girlfriend."

My heart clenched when I heard Emily say that. Daniel had previously asked me to be his girlfriend, but I told him no. He didn't give me a chance to explain myself; he spat in my face and pushed me to the ground.

"Who would want to date a wolfless girl like you? I was only doing you a favour," he spat, in front of many of my high school friends. I was so embarrassed, and Emily came rushing over to meet Daniel. She held his hand and told him, "Daniel, you can be my boyfriend. Don't waste your time on this bìtch."

My heart ached, but I pushed the hurt aside. They were good for each other, I thought, but Daniel peered at me angrily. As the Beta's son, my rejection made him feel bad. I tried to avoid him. After all, he wasn't a student in my class. He had only come to the school for his younger sister's graduation certificate.

Shutting my eyes at the painful memories, I clenched my fists and moved into the living room. The air thickened at the sight of me, and the family at the dining table stopped eating as they sensed my presence.

"Good morning," I greeted them with a forced smile.

"Mm. Morning. What do you want here?" Nancy asked as she picked up a glass of water and drank. She sat beside her husband, while her son and daughter sat across from her.

Seeing their eyes on me, I spluttered but decided to go straight to the point.

"Um, Aunt, I want to further my education at the pack's university."

"Hahaha!" Nancy laughed as she peered at me. She wore a blue nightdress, and she was fair and beautiful for her age.

"Why should you further your education? You're wolfless, and you shouldn't think of going to the university. You should serve as our maid, as repayment for all the money we've spent feeding you up to this size. Isn't that right, honey?" She shifted her gaze to her husband, who nodded.

"Yes. My mate is right," declared Mr. George.

"Olivia, you are to quit your ambition of going to the pack's university and serve as a cleaner here," he said.

"No! It's been my dream to develop a medicine to help our pack members become better. Please." I knelt before my foster parents, grateful they had adopted me and fed me. But I had to further my education.

Emily rose from her dining chair in a white nightdress and rushed up to meet me.

"You bìtch! Didn't you hear Mom say that you are not going to the university? You're to become a servant here in our home and clean the house. Got that?!" She smacked me across my left cheek and sent me falling to the ground.

"That's enough, Emily!" Mark yelled, his icy voice making his sister jump as she turned to look at him.

"Mark, are you taking this bìtch's side over me, your sister? Mom, Dad, Mark is favouring Olivia!" Emily cried, pointing at me. The atmosphere in the dining room became thick as my foster parents looked at Mark suspiciously and asked him, "What has come over you, Mark? How can you defend that wolfless girl? We only adopted Olivia to give Emily a younger sister, and since Emily doesn't want Olivia anymore, you are not to favour Olivia or see her as your sister either. Now, apologize to Emily!" declared Mr. George.

Mark peered at his parents' faces. His jaw clenched as he rose to his feet. "Mom, Dad, you both are being unjust. I cannot sit here and watch you bully Olivia just because she doesn't have a wolf. If you don't want her presence anymore, take her back to the orphanage. I am out of here."

Mark walked away from the dining room, not sparing a glance at me, and my jaw dropped at his blunt words to his parents.

"Mark! Mark! Come back here!" His parents tried calling him, but he had already left the house. The sound of his car starting in the garage filled the air as he drove off.

"You slut! What did you do to possess my only son?!" Mrs. George yelled as she rushed towards me and descended on me in the living room.

Her fist connected with my face as she smacked me continuously until I fainted.

Olivia's POV:After dinner with my parents ended at the table, I picked up the napkin to wipe my lips clean."Thanks, Mom and Dad," I said with a smile, recalling that Nancy and her husband had barred me from eating at the dining table with them or even calling them Dad and Mom."You're welcome, Summer," my parents said, calling me by my real name."Don't worry. Once Caleb is done, he will escort you to Mark's house to get your stuff, okay?" my dad said, to which I smiled and rose to my feet."Alright. I would like to use the washroom," I said with a soft voice, as I excused myself from the dining table.I made my way upstairs and went back to my room, and I went to the bathroom to use it. The room was neat, including the washroom. When I was done, I got out and met my mother in the room.I smiled, walking up to meet her, as I had dried my hands with a tissue in the washroom."How was life growing up with the George's family? This is your home too," my family said, as they all smiled at me.Tears welled up in my eyes as I could not believe that this was my real family. It all felt like a dream, but it wasn't.Taking a glance around the grand living room, I peered at the artistic painting on the wall.I saw a similar artistic image, but with different clothes, of the baby drawn on the wall.So if Mark hadn't drawn this baby portrait in his house, I wouldn't have reunited with my real family. I knew that I owed Mark a lot, and my heart fluttered at these few days that I had spent with him.I hadn't gotten more time to spend with him. I would have loved to know more about him."Welcome home, my daughter. I know that you're finding this hard to believe, but you saw the DNA test, and

Mark's POV:I was happy for Olivia, seeing her reunite with her family. I wasn't expecting the DNA test to prove positive, although I had a feeling that Olivia was probably Caleb's sister. Their resemblance and also, with the fact that Mrs. Grayson had said that her baby had a star birthmark on her back. "Mark, what's going on? Why did the Graysons take Olivia away? Is she really their sister?" Mom asked as she walked up to meet me at the front of the hospital building while I waved goodbye to Olivia. I wanted to go with her to the Graysons' mansion, but I decided for her to bond with her family first. Then we can get back together and continue with our relationship. But will they even allow me to have Olivia? I missed my time with her and honestly didn't want to let Olivia go, but I trust that she won't cheat on me.
