LOGIN(Olivia's POV)
After that day, I woke up and found myself lying on a white bed, with a medical device beeping near my head. My eyes took in my surroundings, and I realized I was in a hospital. The thick smell of disinfectant filled my nostrils, but as my eyes opened, I saw him, Mark George, wearing a yellow sports jersey and blue shorts that he wore for playing basketball in the pack's games against other neighboring packs. "What is he doing here?" I wondered, as I tried to move my hand. I didn't know how long I had been unconscious, but as the nurse saw that I was awake, she exclaimed, "She is awake, doctor!" That's when I found out that my head had bandages and I was wrapped with several bandages on my head. The last thing I remembered was my adoptive mother's brutal beating that morning, after Mark had defended me for the first time in his family home. Now he was here. *What did Mark want from me again? Why was he in my hospital room? Who brought me to this hospital?* A series of questions flooded my head, and I could feel a pounding headache at the thought of them. Luckily, my adopted mother and her daughter, Emily, weren't present in this hospital room, and that was a relief, but I was saddened by the thought that I wouldn't be able to further my education at the pack's university. "You're finally awake," Mark said, as he rushed over to my bed to meet me. I recoiled away from him as I tried to sit up on the bed, but he frowned. Mark had always avoided me, so why was he acting like he cared about me now? I didn't want to get hit by my foster mother again, so it was best that Mark kept his distance from me. As I tried to speak, my throat was sore, and I couldn't speak but croaked out words that he didn't hear. Surprisingly, Mark brought his bottle of water that he had been drinking when I awoke, and he stepped closer to me. His earthy scent of cedarwood filled my nostrils as he positioned his drinking water at my mouth. His right hand instinctively reached for my back, and he helped me to sit up properly on the bed. "Here, drink some water," Mark said, and I froze. However, my throat was too dry, and I saw the female nurse who had rushed out before arrive with a male doctor, and they walked up to my hospital bed to meet me. I found out that I was the only patient admitted in this hospital room. "Good morning, Miss Olivia. You are finally awake. Do you feel any headache again?" asked the male doctor in a white doctor's coat, black trousers, and shoes. As he held a file in his hand and was assessing the monitor to see if he could turn it off. "Yes, Doctor. My head aches. Since when was I brought in here?" I asked the doctor hoarsely as my throat still felt dry even after I had from the bottle. I couldn't drink much water because I could taste Mark's lips on the bottle, and with the way his yellow eyes were watching me intensely with a look of worry on his face, I couldn't comfortably meet his gaze like before. *Why was Mark watching me like a predator? What did he come here to do? He didn't care for me, right? He just wanted to be sure that his mother hadn't killed me; if not, she be sent to jail for murder,* I guessed. The male doctor cleared his throat and said, "You were brought in here three days ago and fell into a coma. Thankfully, you only suffered from cuts as we thought you had memory loss or a severe head injury due to the level of your attack." I scowled, and the doctor assured me, "Don't worry, you are improving just fine, even though you are an ordinary Omega." The words "ordinary Omega" hurt me, but I forced a tight smile and replied, "Thank you, Doctor." "You can call me Dr. Sam," he said with a charming smile on his face as he was a young man, but Mark, who stood a few distances away from my bed, coughed to show his presence in the room. "Doctor, how is Olivia's health? Will she be discharged today now that she is finally awake?" Mark asked. His yellow eyes watching me as his lips parted and spoke to Dr. Sam. I felt uncomfortable at the way Mark's eyes were staring at me, and I had so many questions to ask Dr. Sam about who had brought me to the hospital. As I clearly remembered that Mark had driven off with his car that morning, so how come he was here with me? Dr. Sam cleared his throat and replied, "Mark, it seems your sister, Olivia, is improving better. She will get discharged tomorrow as we need to keep a close watch on her to be sure that she didn't suffer any form of traumatic head injury. Kindly warn your mother to desist from hitting Olivia to that extent again. If this occurs, I will personally report her to Alpha Johnson and have her arrested." Mark's expression hardened as I met his gaze and lowered my head. "She is not my sister, Doctor," he replied, his voice cold and making my heart cringe. "I know, and that's why I am warning you and your family to abstain from child abuse. The next time this happens, it will not end here in this hospital. Excuse me, as I would like to see other patients." Dr. Sam walked out of the hospital room, with the female nurse who had accompanied him, and I could feel the atmosphere in the room become tense as Mark strolled to my bed to meet me. I didn't want to raise my head to look at his face. I could feel his eyes watching me intensely, and it made me nervous, like I had a swollen face. As Mark neared my bed, I held my breath as his cedarwood scent filled my nostrils. His right hand reached for mine, and I felt sparks from the touch. I quickly withdrew my hand as if it burnt, still, I did not want to look at his face. "Hey, I am sorry about what my mother and sister did to you," Mark said, his voice soft and his eyes watching me. I lowered my head and nodded. "You do not have to apologize. It's fine. Just stay away from me, and there will be peace." "Mmm," Mark hummed and asked, "What if I cannot stay away and I do not want to stay away?" "Huh?" I raised my head and met his gaze, my eyes locking with his desirous gaze on me.(Summer's POV)My heart fluttered as Mark carried me in his warm arms and took me to his room. His scent clung to me like a blanket. My heart raced and thudded against my chest as it dawned on me what he wanted. He wanted to make love to me.“Mark,” I whispered against his ear as he arrived at his bedroom door. I had missed this room after reuniting with my family. His touch and pleasure only lingered in my mind. When Mark stepped into the room, he set me down on my feet.“I have missed you so much,” he said, his voice thick with raw hunger for me.“I cannot wait to have you again, Summer. My Oli,” Mark said, and my heart fluttered at his words. When he drew next to me, his hand reached for my top and he helped me undress.I had left my bag in his living room, and I knew that my brothers or parents would be trying to reach me. But what mattered to me at the moment was trying to please my boyfriend. What started as a forbidden relationship now had my heart captive.I assisted Mark as I
(Mark's POV)I had wrapped up the last artwork piece in my study. Knowing that Summer was coming over to visit me, I swiftly rushed to arrange the house, cleaning everywhere as I had been busy. Though the woman I hired to clean showed up twice a week, I still ensured that I arranged everywhere before going to have my bath.I had missed Summer, and I could not wait to have alone time with her. When I finished my bath and got out of the bathroom, I gave Summer a call to find out how she was and if she was already on her way. I wanted to go and pick her up, too.To my surprise, Summer apologized about Emily’s text and told me she now has a driver. My eyes widened at how much the Grasyons had upgraded my girlfriend. Though I didn’t want to see Summer as my sister, I smiled and assured her that I trusted her. When the call ended, I quickly checked my chat to see what Emily had sent. It was a picture of Summer and a tall, masculine man in black pulling the car door for her like a gentleman.
(Summer's POV)When it was closing hour after the last lecture came to an end, Rita called out to me, “Summer, wait.” I paused and glanced over at Rita, watching her run up to meet me. “Did you call Christopher to find out where he is?” she asked, and I shook my head. “No, I did not call him. Since you said he went to assist his dad, I do not want to disturb him. I believe he will call when he is ready. After all, I just got to know him,” I replied calmly, my eyes watching Rita’s face. “Alright. You can go. I just wanted to ask if you called him,” Rita said, her blush evident. I didn’t understand Rita. Did she think I was lying and trying to date Christopher? Unable to hide my curiosity, I asked her, “Wait, Rita. So you do not trust me?” “No, Summer. It’s not that I do not trust you,” Rita said as she walked up to meet me. “I just wanted to know,” she replied softly. I knew Rita was lying, but I didn’t call her out for it. Even though I didn’t have a mate bond, I kne
(Summer's POV)As Rita and I walked away from Ava and Emily, I could feel my heart throbbing because I hadn’t expected Rita to stand up for me. My heart was racing loudly in my chest, knowing that Ava was an Alpha wolf and no one dared to provoke her. I could feel Ava’s disdain for me. Her eyes narrowed deeply, even as she pressed her nose to prevent herself from inhaling my scent. “Don’t worry about Ava,” Rita whispered into my ear as she led me out of the medical faculty for us to have lunch. How could I not worry about Ava? Could I trust Rita? I wanted to voice my complaint and tell Rita to return to Ava, but I held my tongue. I decided to play along to find out why Rita was now trying to be friendly to me. When we arrived at the cafeteria, my phone rang before I could step inside. Pulling out my phone, I had thought it was a call from Christopher apologizing for not showing up. But I was surprised to see it was a call from Mark. “Who is calling you?” Rita asked, her
Ava's POV:Seeing Rita take Summer's side made my blood boil as I watched them stride downstairs.Unable to hide my anger, I warned Emily to be careful of Summer."What do you think made Rita close to Summer? Is it because they are in the same class now? Just barely one day, and Rita has fallen for Summer's charm?" I muttered as I stopped one of the female students to ask her."What has gotten into Rita? Why does she care for Summer now?"The young lady in a brown dress had her eyes widen, and she said, "Oh, Rita accused Summer of trying to snatch her mate, Christopher Lawrence. So we think Rita is getting along with Summer to beg Christopher for her rejection.""What? Christopher is Rita's mate?" Emily gasped, as did I. Our eyes almost popped out of their sockets."Wait, you both do not know? I thought you were Rita's BFFs?" The lady asked, and I glared at her."Mind your language unless you want to rot in jail," I glared at her, and she lowered her head."I am sorry, Alpha. Please f
SUMMER'S POV:"Mom, Dad, Cooper. I'm off to school," I informed my parents after I had finished my breakfast at the dining table.I stood up to leave. My hand reached for my bag, which contained my books and the few I had borrowed from Christopher."Alright, Summer. Come on, let me see you off. You can use any car in the garage that you like. Next Saturday, we will present your own ride to you," Dad commented as he rose to his feet to escort me out of the house."Really? Thanks, Dad," I said as my father walked up to meet me. He placed his hand across my shoulder, then escorted me to the car.Mom and Cooper stayed indoors, and I chose to hop into the black sports car.Dad turned to Mr. Raymond and instructed him in a serious voice. "Drive safely.""Got it, Sir," Mr. Raymond replied before slipping into the driver's seat of the car."Goodbye, Dad," I waved, watching as Dad stood at the front while Mr. Raymond ignited the car and drove off to the university. My hand reached for my phone
