LOGINOlivia's POV:
The sound of Mark's phone ringing broke the awkward silence in the room, and he said, "I have to go now, Olivia. Take care. " Mark caressed my cheek in a gentle pat before he darted out of the room. I breathed out heavily, feeling exhausted. Just then, the door swung open again, and a female nurse walked in with a female assistant who served me breakfast, as I saw it was 11 am. "Good morning," I greeted her as her assistant served me the breakfast. It was a plate of hot custard, liquid milk, and two hot bean cake. "How do you feel?" The female nurse asked me with a gentle voice. Her lips curled up in a smile on her pretty brown face, and she resembled Dr. Sam and Erica Robin, my school mate. "I am fine, Nurse," I replied nervously, and she nodded, still smiling. She was tall and chubby, with long, thick, brown hair. She packed it in a ponytail, wearing a white nurse cap on her head. "Alright. Take care of yourself. I'm Nurse Hazel Owen. Dr. Sam's elder sister. I'm married with two kids," she introduced herself with a soft voice, and I could feel my heart flutter with butterflies at her words. "Thank you, Nurse Hazel. It's a pleasure to meet you," I replied, looking at her beautiful face. I wondered why she was nice to me. Dr. Sam was also nice, and that made me reconsider his offer. But they were still strangers to me. What if they were pretending to lure me away from my foster parents home and to torture me like my adopted mother and sister did? "You don't have to worry," Nurse Hazel interrupted my thoughts. "I heard my brother's offer to you. Sam is not a bad person. He is only trying to help you, from a place of love. Besides, Alpha Johnson will not be happy finding out that you were treated poorly by your adopted parents. It's against the adoption rules and regulations of this pack," she said, her tone firm. Though she spoke to me lightly, like I was her friend. "Thank you, Nurse Hazel. I will reconsider Dr. Sam's offer. But I have to go home first to get my stuff," I said. My tone is soft. My eyes met her brown eyes, and she smiled. "Alright, Olivia. Take care of yourself," Nurse Hazel replied, before turning away and walking out of the room. "Hmph..." I exhaled and picked up the silver spoon. I resumed eating my breakfast, scooping the hot custard mixed with milk into my mouth. My head was aching at the thought of moving over to Dr. Sam's house. He was handsome, attractive, and doing well. But he was still a stranger to me. If I wasn't a wolfless Omega, I could have been thrilled at the thought of finding my real mate. But then, I had no wolf to help me find him. The man who could have been destined for me by the moon goddess. As I finished with my breakfast, I wiped off my tears, pushed the tray aside, and knew that crying did not solve anything. I had to be strong, and that was what I made up my mind to do. I lay back on the bed, my back resting against the soft mattress as it soothed my body. Soon, I succumb to sleep. ***** Mark's POV: "Mark, what kept you so long?" My basketball coach, Tyler Benjamin, yelled at me as I arrived late at the basketball court. We had a friendly match against the Red Ballers in our pack. They didn't want to accept their losses, but it wasn't my place to ask them to give up trying to win. Aside from playing for the Yellow Ballers team in my pack, I also played against other top packs as a top player. I was on the Star Field basketball team. "I am sorry, coach. Something came up at the hospital, and I had to hurry over," I replied before joining the court, as the game is about to start. Coach Tyler frowned and yelled, "Get into positions! The game is about to begin!" His voice was cold and cut off my excuse. I ran to join my team of basketball players. We had the triplets Carter, Caleb, and Cooper Grayson. They were the center players. They were responsible for shot blocking, rebounding, and defending the ball. Likewise, they were brown-skinned, tall, attractive, rich, and identical, and they were omegas too. We also have Alpha Johnson's only son, Bryan Anderson. He was 25 years old, dark-skinned, tall, handsome, and played as our shooting guard. He stroked the ball, covering long ranges and scoring many points for our team. Not only that, but he was my alpha, and we were good friends. His Beta, Daniel Ryan, played as our power forward, focusing on rebounding and defense. I played as the versatile player, the small forward, and most times I sank the ball into the opponent's baskets. Together, we make a great team since we became the Yellow Ballers from our set. As the basketball match kicked off, my mood improved as Logan, my wolf was happy that Olivia was finally awake. Logan tells me in my heart that Olivia could be my real mate. I knew that I used to avoid Olivia, and I hardly talked to her because she was my adopted sister and my parents treated her badly. But since she became a teenager and started developing breasts, I could not stop thinking about her rapid growth. I felt strongly attracted to her, and I am unconcerned whether she had a wolf or not. Olivia was charming and everything I wanted in my woman. She was of average height. She had striking, long blonde hair that bounced and waved whenever she let it down. She had enchanting blue eyes like other wolf-less kids. Likewise, she had the most amazing smiles that captured my heart, but she rarely smiled at me, and only at a few times that I caught her laughing with her best friend, Erica Robin. "Mark, Olivia is possibly our mate, even though she does not have a wolf. She is gorgeous and acceptable," Logan said, wanting Olivia too. But the fact that she was like a sister to me irked me the most. I knew Olivia wasn't the only she-wolf in this pack who was born on a moonless night. But she was adorable, and I wonder why her parents threw her away. As the fourth quarter of the basketball match continued, I ran to capture the ball as we were scoring against the Red Ballers, a total of 120 points, while they were just at 30 points. Their captain, Enzo Lawrence, whose father was a billionaire and a sponsor of the basketball game, didn't want to take his loss. "Three minutes left! The Yellow Ballers are winning the game!" The supervisor announced, and the referee blew the whistle. Enzo and his Red Team players reach to block the ball, preventing me from passing the ball and scoring another goal. However, as I turned to pass the ball to Daniel, I jumped and threw the ball into the red team basket, scoring three points for my team. As it was an 8-minute final. With a minute left, Enzo glared at me as the basketball match continued. They dribbled and passed the ball, then alpha Bryan captured it and did a free throw into the Red Team's basket. He scored one point, giving us a total of 124 points against their 30 points. The Yellow Ballers won!!. As the basketball match came to an end, I set to leave for the hospital to check on Olivia again before I returned to my house. However, Bryan and Daniel rushed up to hug me and shake hands with me. "Congratulations Mark! You did a fantastic job!" Alpha Bryan squealed as he shook hands with me and enveloped me in a warm hug. "Thanks Alpha," I replied with a smile, seeing Enzo glaring at me. But I shifted my gaze away to Daniel and shook his hands before the triplets, Carter, Caleb, and Cooper, came forward to wrap me in a hug. "Up Yellow Ballers!" We squealed and posed for a group photo before going to meet our coach. It was a friendly match against the Red Ballers, who refused to accept defeat. "Mark!" Coach Tyler called to my attention, his lips curled in a smile as I walked up to meet him. His youngest daughter, Rita, was among the Yellow Ballers cheerleaders. She wore a yellow tank top and yellow skirt with yellow boots as she smiled and waved at me. I jogged up to meet her father, and he said, "You did an impressive job, Mark. Together with the team. We have a basketball game coming up next week against the Bright Star Pack. So you all need to get prepared." Coach Tyler looked serious, as he wore a yellow top, black trousers, and black boots. "Alright coach. I will be there," I replied with a smile and set to leave. Coach Tyler remembered and said, "That reminds me, Mark. Rita's 18th birthday is tomorrow. Are you going to attend it? I already invited the rest of the team, and they promised to be there." Coach Tyler looked at my face as Bryan and Daniel walked up to meet us. Together with the rest of our team members. "Um, Coach. I have something to take care of at home. So I might not be available to attend Rita's 18th birthday. I am sorry," I replied, apologetically. Rita's smile faded, and Coach Tyler wore a tight expression on his face. "Mark, the party won't start in the morning. It will start in the evening by 6pm, so I am guessing you will be free by then," Coach Tyler said, his voice firm, and it was Tuesday. "Alright, Coach. I will make a chance for it," I replied, wanting to leave, but Rita ran up and wrapped me in a hug. I stiffened as her hands enveloped my waist. "Thank you, Mark!" Rita giggled, her rose scent filling my nostrils, and I smiled and carefully pulled her away from me. "It's fine," I replied, bashfully. I knew the young women in the pack could not stop ogling at me. Rita was a Delta wolf, and she was hoping that I would be her fated mate. However, I raked my right hand behind my head, ruffling my short black hair. I smiled and said, "I have to go."(Summer's POV)“So you didn’t miss me?” Christopher asked as I sat next to him in the large classroom.“I do,” I mumbled, my cheeks flushed.“Great. So what did you keep for me?” Christopher inquired. Before I could reply, our professor stepped in and resumed the lecture for the day.As the day rolled by, it was time for lunch. When I rose to leave my seat, I remembered and pulled out the invitation slip that I had personally saved for Christopher.“Chris, I know that we’re just getting to know each other, but here is an invitation to my banquet,” I said, holding out the slip toward him.Christopher was still sitting, writing some notes he had missed on the day he hadn’t shown up to class.“Oh, Summer. That’s thoughtful of you. My dad spoke to me about the banquet yesterday and how much it meant to your parents. They’ve missed you so much,” Christopher said, looking up at my face. I blushed.“Though my dad already brought two invitations for me and my brother, Enzo, I can’t refuse you
BRYAN:"Bryan, what the hell is Ava talking about?" Mom asked as I walked into the exquisite dining room to greet her."Good morning, Mom," I said with a sigh, trying to evade her question.Mom looked at me furiously. "Morning, but you haven’t answered my question.""Mom, I know you’ll be angry if you find out. That’s why I don’t want to mention it to you," I said, frustrated, as I sat down in the chair across from her.Mom leaned back in her dining chair, looked at my face, and asked, "Who is she?""Mom, let’s not talk about her," I said, glancing over at the maids and signaling one of them to serve me breakfast."Bryan, as your mother and your Luna, I demand to know who she is. How can you be so shameless as to lust after someone’s girlfriend?" Mom pointed out, her tone laced with anger. I lowered my head and avoided her gaze.I knew I deserved all the insults, but it wasn’t my fault. My wolf and I wanted Summer."Bryan, are you listening to me at all?" Mom growled. I raised my head
AVA:Mark peered at me in shock; even Mom was stunned by my attitude and shrieking.“Ava, what has gotten into you? Are you trying to make fun of Mark? There is no smell. What are you talking about?” Mom asked aloud as she glared at me.“Mom, Mark reeks of Summer’s smell,” I pointed out, anger flooding through my veins as Mark sniffed his own shirt to identify the irritating smell I was talking about. However, when he heard me mention Summer’s name, his expression softened as he smiled handsomely, making my heart race, and he admitted, “Summer was with me this morning. She came to visit last night and the rainfall was too much, so I advised her to stay back. That’s why I am bathed in her smell—I didn’t want to bathe or wash it off.”Mom’s jaw dropped, including mine. I could not imagine how insane Mark was to carry a woman’s scent on him. Also, to skip bathing so that he didn’t wash off Summer’s smell.Mom looked at Mark differently as she smiled and asked him, “Do you love Summer tha
AVA:When I woke up in my room, I felt a sharp pain in my stomach and gasped, “Ah!” My belly tightened, making me perspire. In the meantime, I had been sensitive to some smells, some foods, and I knew that these were all the symptoms of the little pup.Damn it. Why can’t I have a quiet abortion? I murmured; all the abortion medicine had been banned and there was no way I could get rid of the baby.Every child’s life matters to my dad—unless the mother’s health was in danger, then he could approve the termination of the pregnancy. My fist clenched as I wanted to punch the little pup away from my belly, but that would be too extreme.Sighing, I moved to the bathroom to soak myself in a large bathtub of warm water. The weather was cool, and I didn’t want to go to the university. Because I had spent so much time sleeping the previous day in the classroom, the majority of the students were beginning to look at me differently.I had to lay low and keep to myself for now, before the news o
SUMMER:The next morning, I woke up in bed and found myself lying close to Mark. He lay shirtless on the bed, and my hand rested around his waist as I snuggled beside him.Smiling, I shifted on the bed and stared at his attractive features for a while. His chest rose and fell heavily.Checking the wall clock, I saw that it was after 6 a.m. So I carefully got out of bed to avoid waking Mark. Then I made my way into the bathroom to bathe.I couldn’t believe that I was back here and that I had spent a night with Mark. Well, knowing that I had to focus on my studies, I quickly stripped off the dress and got into the shower. After bathing, I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my chest. When I walked back into the room, Mark was not there—the bed was empty—but he had arranged it to look neat.I moved into the closet to find a dress to wear. My mind bugged me to purchase some new dresses and bring them over to Mark’s place, as it was mostly my old clothes that were stuck in
BRYAN:I could not believe my eyes that Summer was here with Mark. No wonder he wasn’t even planning to apologize to my sister or return to the game to join us for the basketball training ahead of the tournament game we have this coming Saturday.I watched Summer boldly walk up to meet Mark, call him babe, embrace him, and kiss him on his left cheek in my presence. My fist clenched at the sight of them. But I didn’t say anything other than watch her figure hurry upstairs.“What brings you here, Alpha Bryan?” Mark asked, finally shifting his face back to me. His lips curled into a smirk to show me that he had claimed Summer—the girl that I wanted—and there was nothing I could do. I was the Alpha. I had to stand there and watch him do whatever he liked. I could have had the privilege to sue Mark, but I confirmed his report that Wren already sent Summer away. So technically, Olivia was a free bird, and now she has reunited with her family.Clearing my throat to put my anger away, I fixed
SUMMER:I smiled at the thought of cooking for myself, Mark, and our pups. The thought of it made my heart flutter as heat rose up my neck."What are you thinking about, Summer? I can smell your arousal from the kitchen," Mark asked, once he was done washing the plates and cleaning the sink.I smil
SUMMER:When I awoke, I found myself lying on the bed, and I recalled that I had slept on the living couch downstairs before.A warm smile crept up my lips as I knew that Mark had brought me back to the room."Oh no!" I gasped when my eyes landed on the wall clock in the room, and I saw that it was
SUMMER:I watched Mark approach me, and he handed over the teacup to me, just as thunder struck heavily in the sky, signaling the incoming downpour."Babe, I have to rush back home," I said, accepting the teacup from Mark's hands. The hot steam flowing from the cup."I know. You should drink this f
SUMMER: My heart fluttered as Mark carried me in his warm arms and took me back to his room. His scent clung to me like a blanket. My heart raced and thudded against my chest as it dawned on me what he wanted. He wanted to make love to me. "Mark," I whispered against his ear as he arrived at his b
