LOGINOlivia's POV:
The sound of Mark's phone ringing broke the awkward silence, and he said, "I have to go now, Olivia. Take care." Mark darted out of the room, and I breathed out heavily, feeling exhausted. Just then, the door swung open, and a nurse arrived with a health worker who served me breakfast, as I saw it was past 11 am. It was a plate of steamy custard, milk, and two bean cakes. "How do you feel?" The nurse asked me with a friendly smile on her pretty brown face, and I saw her resemblance to Dr. Sam. She also resembled Erica Robin, my schoolmate. "I am fine," I replied, and she nodded with a smile, as she was tall, chubby, and had long, thick brown hair. She packed it in a ponytail, wearing a white nurse's cap on her head. "Alright. Take care of yourself. I'm Nurse Hazel Owen, Dr. Sam's elder sister. I'm married with two kids," she introduced herself in a soft voice, and I could feel my heart flutter at her words. "Nurse, it's nice to meet you, Nurse Hazel," I replied, peering at her beautiful face. I wondered why she was nice to me? Dr. Sam was also nice, and that made me reconsider his offer. But they were still strangers to me. What if they were pretending to lure me from my foster parents' home and to torture me like my foster mother and sister did? "You don't have to worry. I heard my brother offer to you. But he's not a person. Dr. Sam is only trying to help you from a place of love. Besides, Alpha Johnson won't be happy finding out that you were treated poorly by your foster parents. It's against the adoption rules and regulations of the Starfield Pack," she said, speaking to me as if I were her friend. "Thank you, Nurse. I will reconsider Dr. Sam's offer. But that's after I have gotten home to get my stuff," I replied, my tone soft, my eyes watching her, and she smiled. "Alright. Take care, Olivia," Nurse Hazel said as she walked away to the door and exited the room. I resumed eating my breakfast, my head aching at the thought of moving over to a total stranger's house. If I weren't a wolfless Omega, I could have been thrilled at the thought of finding my mate, but then, I had no wolf to help me find him. The man who could have been destined for me by the moon goddess. As I finished my meal, I pushed the bed table aside and wiped away my tears. I knew crying solved nothing. I had to be strong, and that was what I chose. I lay back on the bed, my back resting on it as I succumbed to sleep. ***** Mark's POV: "Mark, what kept you so long?" My basketball coach, Tyler Benjamin, yelled at me as I arrived late at the basketball court. We had a basketball match against the Red Ballers in our pack. They didn't want to take their losses. But that wasn't my place to tell them to give up trying. Aside from playing for the Yellow Ballers basketball team in my pack, I also played against other top packs too, as I was among the Starfield Basketball team players. "I am sorry, Coach. Something came up, and I had to hurry over," I replied, joining the court, and my coach frowned. "Get into position! The game is about to start!" Coach Tyler yelled, his voice cold and cutting off my excuse. I ran to join my team of basketball players, as we have the triplets, Carter, Caleb, and Cooper Grayson, who are the center players. They handled shot blocking, rebounds, and defending the ball. They were dark-skinned, tall, and identical, as they were Omegas too. We also have Alpha Johnson's son, Bryan Anderson. He was 25 years old, dark-skinned, tall, and played as our shooting guard. He strokes the ball, covering long range and scoring many points. He was my teammate, and we were friends. His beta, Daniel Ryan, our power forward player, focuses on rebounding and defense. I play as the versatile player, the small forward. Together we make a successful team since becoming the Yellow Ballers in our set. As the basketball match kicked off, my mood improved, as Logan, my wolf, was happy that Olivia was finally awake. Logan told me that Olivia could be my mate. I knew I used to avoid her, and I hardly talked to her, but since she became a teenager and started developing breasts, I couldn't stop thinking of her rapid growth, and I am unconcerned if she has a wolf. Olivia was pretty and everything I want in my woman. She was of average height and had striking blonde hair that bounced and waved whenever she let it down. She had the most amazing smile that could capture any man's heart, but she rarely smiled, and only at the few times that I caught her laughing with her best friend, Erica Robin. "Mark, Olivia is possibly our mate, even though she doesn't have a wolf. She is still acceptable and beautiful," Logan said, wanting Olivia too. But that she was like a sister to me irks me. I know Olivia wasn't the only child in our pack born on a moonless night, but she was a beautiful girl, and I wonder why her real parents threw her away. As the fourth quarter of the basketball match kicked off, we were scoring 120 points against the Red Ballers, while they were just at 30 points. Still their group leader, Enzo Lawrence, whose father was a billionaire and sponsor of the basketball game, didn't want to take his loss. "Three minutes left! The Yellow Ballers are winning the game!" the supervisor announced, and the referee blew the whistle. Enzo and his Red team players reach to block the ball, preventing me from passing the ball and scoring. As I turned to pass the ball to Daniel, I jumped and threw the ball into the red team's basket, scoring three points for my team. As it was an 8-minute match. A minute left, and Enzo glared at me as the basketball match started. They dribbled and passed the ball until Bryan caught it and did a free throw. He scored one point, giving us 124 points against them. The Yellow Ballers win. As the match ended, I set off to leave for the hospital to check on Olivia again, before I returned home. However, Bryan and Daniel rushed up to shake hands with me. "You did a successful job, Mark!" Bryan squealed, as he shook hands with me and enveloped me in a hug. "Thanks, Alpha," I replied with a smile, seeing Enzo glaring at me. But I shifted my gaze to Daniel and shook his hand before the triplets, Carter, Caleb, and Cooper, came forward to hug me too. "Up Yellow Ballers!" we squealed as we posed for a group photo, before going to meet our coach. It was a friendly match against the Red Ballers, who refused to accept defeat. "Mark!" Coach Tyler called to my attention, his lips curled in a smile as I walked up to meet him. His youngest daughter, Rita, was among the Yellow Ballers cheerleaders. She wore a yellow top, a short skirt, and pink boots. She smiled and waved at me as I walked up to meet her father. "You did a successful job, Mark. Together with the team. We have a basketball game coming up next week against the Bright Star Pack. So you need to get prepared," Coach Tyler said as he wore a yellow top, black trousers, and black boots. "Alright, Coach. I will be there," I replied with a smile as I set off to leave. "That reminds me, Mark. Rita's 18th birthday is tomorrow. Are you going to come? I invited the rest of the team, and they promised to be there," Coach Tyler said as Bryan and Daniel walked up to meet us. Together with our team members. "Um, Coach, I have something to take care of at home. So I might not be available to attend Rita's birthday. I am sorry," I replied apologetically, and Rita's smile faded. But Coach Tyler wore a tight expression. "Mark, the party won't start in the morning. It will start in the evening by 6 pm, so I am guessing you will be free by then," Coach Tyler said, as it was Tuesday. "Alright, Coach. I will make a chance for it," I replied, wanting to leave, but Rita rushed up to wrap me in a hug. I stiffened as her hands enveloped my waist. "Thank you, Mark!" Rita giggled, her rose scent filling my nostrils, and I smiled and carefully pulled her away from me. "It's fine," I replied bashfully. The young women in the pack cannot stop ogling me. Rita was a Delta wolf, and she hoped I would be her mate. Raking my right hand behind my head, as I ruffled my short black hair. I smiled and said, "I've got to go."Summer's POVWhen I moved to enter the basketball court, I spotted Ava's car arrive, as a long, luxurious bus pulled up too. Inside the bus were basketball players from the Bright Star Pack.Grinning, I glanced away and moved towards the entrance. The security searched us one by one before we were permitted entry.I moved to find a seat, my heart thudding in my chest as I sat close and watched the audience chairs fill up.Many pack members arrived, and we sat across from some of the fans from the Bright Star Pack.Their players wore red tops and brown shorts. Little by little, they stepped in, until the game was about to start.I watched our Starfield Pack players arrive. They filled the stage. The game began, and the referee blew the whistle. When I looked over at the players playing, I didn't see Mark among them. My heart slammed against my rib cage as I watched the Starfield Pack players dribbling and passing the ball. The Bright Star players were fierce. A guy named Max grasped ho
Summer’s POV:As I perched on the silver chair in the dining room and ate my breakfast with my family, it consisted of a cup of tea paired with four slices of bread.“You need to eat more, Summer. You need to gain weight,” Caleb said, as he sat next to me in the chair. He picked another slice of bread and added it to my plate.“Maybe the food is not her favorite. Summer, do you want us to change the diet and add any meals to your menu?” Mom asked, her tone sounding soft, as her eyes met mine.“No, the food is enough. I do not have a favorite meal,” I replied calmly.Cooper grinned and said, “Then we can hire a nutritionist to help Summer improve her diet.”“Let her eat more fruit. She will look better,” Carter said, as he sat next to Cooper at the table.“Alright. We should hurry up after winning the match. I will take Summer to the fruit market to get her more fruits. Which is your favorite?” Caleb inquired, as he picked up his cup and sipped his tea. Finishing it, he set the cup on
Summer's POV:The week rolled by and Saturday arrived. I did not want to leave my room, as I lay on the bed.I felt sick, so I pulled the bedsheets over myself properly.Just then, the intense knocking on the door rattled me as I lay on the bed.I lazily got out of bed and went to pull the door open. I wore a white nightdress that fell past my knees.“What the hell, sis! You look a mess!” Caleb exclaimed, as it was already 8 a.m., but I was still feeling sleepy.“Good morning, brother,” I greeted him with a grumble.“What is wrong? Did Mark do anything to offend you?” Caleb asked, his voice serious as he took a step into the room. Before I could react, he checked my body temperature, but I replied, “Mark did not do anything. I am just not feeling fine.”Caleb scowled and asked, “Should we visit the pack’s hospital?” His voice was thick with concern for me, but I stopped him.“No need. You guys have games to play today, so I will get ready.”I was aware that the game was going to kick
Ava's POV.When I drove to the omega district of our pack, my stomach churned violently. My palms tightened around the steering wheel."Mate!" My wolf growled, urging me toward the mate bond.Gritting my teeth, I parked my car along the roadside. This was not the first time since I found out I was pregnant by Wren. My desire spiked, and I stayed constantly aroused."Damn it. What do I do?" I groaned in my car."Ava, are you alright?" Justin mindlinked me, and I retorted, "I am not. I told you we should find time to reject each other. I cannot accept you.""Don't say that. If you do not want me, who will you accept? An alpha cannot reject their mate, remember. You need me. I can smell your heat," he said, his voice teasing."Shut up!" I growled at him and shut him out, but he mindlinked me again."I saw you drive to that rural area. We can meet up if you want," he ordered. It tempted me, but I didn't want to get caught. If Bryan or my dad found out I was mated to Justin, they would for
Summer's POV:"Summer, you look radiant," Cooper teased me as he watched me stride back into the living room, holding the flowers.Mom's gaze landed on me. Seeing the bouquet of lavender flowers in my hands, her brows furrowed. "Who brought the flowers? Was Mark here?" Mom asked, trying to keep a neutral expression."Yes," I replied, quickly moving to the stairs."Good night, everyone," I dashed and went back to my room, as I didn't want to get any form of scolding from them. Though my brothers had no issues with Mark, I didn't want to stand there and watch my mother ruin my mood. When I entered my bedroom, my hand reached for the knob and I shut the door behind me. I moved to the drawer closer to my bed and carefully placed the bouquet of lavender flowers there. The sweet scent hung heavily in my room, and I giggled at the recollection of hugging Mark.A knock on my door startled me, and I quickly stepped away from the flowers as I rushed over to the door to find out who was there. W
Summer's POV:After my dinner with Mom, I decided to go outside for a stroll. When I rose to my feet to leave the house, Mom studied my face and asked, "Summer, are you sure that you are alright? Or has Mark broken up with you? Did he cheat on you?""No," I quickly denied. "He didn't cheat on me," I said, my voice shaky.Mom studied my face as a heavy silence descended in the living room. "It's fine. Just know that if I found out that Mark is cheating on you, he will never be welcomed into this house."I gulped heavily and nodded. "Got it, Mom. I want to take a stroll outside," I said, and she nodded.I walked out of the door, my heart racing loudly against my rib cage, my hands holding my phone as I checked if Mark had called me. Yet, no calls. The moon rose gradually above the sky, as the time struck 7:30 pm.Just as I took a stroll around the lush gardens that surrounded my father's magnificent home, the smell of the flowering plants filled the air, and my eyes darted to the lavend
Caleb's POV: Mom smiled and said, "People change as they grow up, and she could have changed as well. I just want to see her. Can you take me to your friend's house? Let me see this young lady by myself and know whether she is my daughter or not." Mom peered at Cooper's face, but he shook his head
Mark's POV:I knew that Olivia was having doubts about accepting me as her boyfriend. She felt that I wasn't serious about her, that I only wanted to use her and probably dump her, but that was not the case.If I had only wanted to use Olivia, I wouldn't have brought her to my house. I wouldn't hav
AVA: I was furious, unable to believe that Mark actually declared Olivia as his mate. His father tried to stop him, refusing to accept Olivia as his daughter-in-law, but Mark's voice was firm. Looking at Mr. Wren George, as we had a secret relationship, I mindlinked him, "Wren, what is going on?
OLIVIA: As I sat in the living room waiting, Mark finally came downstairs to meet me. Dressed in a stunning black shirt and trousers, featuring a pair of polished black shoes, Mark smiled and asked, "Shall we go now?" Like a gentleman, Mark gestured his right palm open to me to accept. As I sat o
