Olivia's POV:
The sound of Mark's phone ringing broke the awkward silence, and he said, "I have to go now, Olivia. Take care." Mark darted out of the room, and I breathed out heavily, feeling exhausted. A nurse arrived with a health worker who served me breakfast as I saw that it was past 11 a.m. It was a plate of custard and two bean cakes. "How do you feel?" the female nurse asked me with a friendly smile on her pretty brown face, and I saw her resemblance to Dr. Sam. Also, she resembled Erica Robin, my schoolmate. "I am fine," I said, my voice calm and she nodded with a smile, as she was tall, chubby, and had long brown thick hair. She packed it in a ponytail, wearing a white nurse cap on her head. "Alright. Take care of yourself. I'm Nurse Hazel Owen. Dr. Sam's elder sister. I'm married with two kids," she introduced herself with a soft voice, and I could feel my heart flutter at her words. "Nice to meet you, Nurse Hazel," I replied, peering at her beautiful face. As I wondered why she was nice to me, Dr. Sam was also nice, and that made me reconsider his offer. But they were still strangers to me. What if they were pretending to lure me from my foster parents' home and to torture me like my stepmother and stepsister did? "You don't have to worry. I heard my brother's offer to you. But he's not a bad person. Sam is only trying to help you, from a place of love. Besides, Alpha Johnson Anderson won't be happy, finding out that you were treated poorly by your foster parents. It's against the adoption rules and regulations of the Star-Field Pack," she said, speaking to me like I was her friend. "Thank you, Nurse. I will reconsider Dr. Sam's offer. But that's after I have gotten home to get my stuff," I said, my tone soft, my eyes watching her face, and she smiled. "Alright. Take care, Olivia," said Nurse Hazel, as she walked away to the door and exited the room. After my meal, I was lying on the bed, my head aching at the thought of moving over to a total stranger's house. If I wasn't a wolfless Omega, I could have been thrilled at the thought of finding my mate, but then, I had no wolf to help me find him. The man who could have been destined for me by the moon goddess. As I lay on the bed, I wiped off my tears, knowing that crying doesn't solve anything. I had to be strong, and that was why I made up my mind to do it. I laid back on the bed, my back resting on the hospital bed as I succumbed to sleeping. ***** Mark's POV: "Mark, what kept you so long?" My basketball coach, Tyler Benjamin yelled at me as I arrived at the basketball court. We had a basketball match against the Red Ballers in our pack. They didn't want to take their losses. But that wasn't in my place to tell them to give up trying. Aside from playing for the Yellow Ballers basketball team in my pack, I also played against other top packs too, as I was among the Star-Field Basketball team players. "I am sorry, coach. Something came up, and I had to hurry over," I replied, joining the court, and my coach frowned. "Get into positions! The game is about to start!" Coach Tyler barked, his voice loud and stern, and cutting off my excuse. I ran to join my team of basketball players, as we have the triplet, Carter, Caleb, and Cooper Grayson, who are the center players. They were responsible for shot blocking, rebound, and defending the ball. They were dark-skinned, tall, and identical, as they were Omegas too. Also, we have Alpha Johnson Anderson's son, Bryan Anderson. He was 25 years old, dark-skinned, tall, and played as our shooting guard. He strikes the ball, covering long range and scoring many points. He was my team player, and we were good friends. Also, his Beta, Daniel Ryan, was our power forward player, who focuses on rebounding and defense. As I play as the versatile player, the small forward. Together we make a great team, since we became the Yellow Ballers in our set. As the basketball match kicked off, my mood improved as Logan, my wolf, was happy that Olivia was finally awake. Something in me tells me that she could be my mate. I knew that I used to avoid Olivia, and I hardly talk to her, but since she became a teenager and started sprouting out brẹasts, I couldn't stop thinking of her rapid growth, and I am unconcerned whether she had a wolf or not. She was beautiful and everything I want in my woman. She was of average height, had striking blonde hair that bounces and waves whenever she let it down. She had the most amazing smiles that could capture any man's heart, but she rarely smiles at me and only at a few times that I caught her laughing with her best friend, Erica Robin. "Mark, Olivia is possibly our mate, even though she doesn't have a wolf scent. She is still acceptable and beautiful," Logan said, purring in my mind and wanting Olivia too. But the fact that she was like a sister to me, irks me. I know Olivia wasn't the only shewolf in our pack born on a moonless night, but she was a beautiful girl, and I wondered why her parents threw her away. As the fourth quarter of the basketball match kicked off, we were scoring against the Red Ballers, a total of 120 points, while they were just at 30 points. Still, their group leader, Enzo Lawrence, whose father was a billionaire and a sponsor of the basketball game, didn't want to take his loss. He glared at me for scoring again. "Three minutes left! The Yellow Ballers are winning the game!" The supervisor announced, and the referee blew the whistle. Enzo and his Red team players reached to block the ball, preventing me from passing the ball and scoring. As I turned to pass the ball to Daniel, I jumped and threw the ball into the red team basket, scoring three points for my team. As it was an 8-minute match. A minute left, and Enzo glared at us, as the basketball match continued, dribbling and passing, then Bryan did a free throw and scored one point, giving us 124 points against them. "The Yellow Ballers win!" The supervisor annouced as the match came to an end, I set to leave for the hospital to check on Olivia again, before I returned home. However, Bryan and Daniel walked up to shake hands with me. "You did a great job, Mark!" squealed Bryan, as he shook hands with me and enveloped me in a hug. "Thanks, Alpha," I replied with a smile, seeing Enzo glaring at me. But I shifted my gaze to Daniel Ryan and shook his hands, before the triplet, Carter, Caleb, and Cooper came forward to hug me too, with the rest of our team members. "Up Yellow Ballers!" We squealed as we posed for a group photos, before going to meet our coach. It was a friendly match against the Red Ballers who refused to accept defeat. "Mark!" Coach Tyler called to my attention, his lips curled in a smile as I walked up to meet him. His daughter, Rita, was among the Yellow Ballers group cheerleaders. She smiled and waved at me, as I walked up to meet her father. "You did a great job, Mark. Together with the team. We have a basketball game coming up next week against the Bright Star Pack. So you need to get prepared," Coach Tyler said, as he wore a yellow top and black trousers, and boots. "Alright, coach. I will be there," I replied with a smile as I set to leave. "That reminds me, Mark. Rita's birthday is this tomorrow. Are you going to come? I invited the rest of the team and they promised to be there," said Coach Tyler, as Bryan and Daniel walked up to meet us, together with our team members. "Um, I have something to take care of at home, Coach. So I might not be available to attend Rita's birthday. I am sorry," I said, apologetically, and Rita's smile faded. But Coach Tyler wore a tight expression. "Mark, the party won't start in the morning. It will start in the evening by 6 p.m., so I am guessing you will be free by then," Coach Tyler said, his gaze pinned on me as the day was Tuesday. "Alright. I will make time for it," I replied, wanting to leave, and Rita rushed up to wrap me in a hug, her hands enveloping my waist, and I stiffened. "Thank you, Mark!" She giggled, her rose scent filled my nostrils, and I smiled and carefully pulled her away from me. "It's fine," I replied bashfully. The young women in the pack cannot stop ogling at me. Rita was a Delta wolf too, and she was hoping that I am going to be her mate. The next day was her 18th birthday, and she couldn't stop looking at me with desire. Raking my right hand behind my head, as I raked my short black wavy hair, I smiled and said, "I got to go."Olivia's POV:"Mark, where are you?" I heard Mr. Wren's voice boom over the call. He didn't appreciate me calling him Dad—a constant reminder that he was not my real father, even though he had adopted me alongside his wife."Dad, I am in the hospital," Mark replied, his voice calm as he ran a hand over his short black wavy hair."Why are you in the hospital? I hope it's not because of Olivia that you went there. Your mother spoke about Olivia waking up today," Mr. Wren asked, and Mark hummed."Yes, Dad. I had to come and check on Olivia because she is my sister, and I was the one who brought her to the hospital for admission," he said, as I finished my ice cream and licked my lips.Mark looked at me with his shining yellow eyes, and our gazes locked, but I swiftly lowered my head, feeling my heart thudding faster in my chest. Why do I feel this way? Why am I so uncomfortable around Mark?"Is there anything going on between you and Olivia, Mark? Why do you seem to care so much about he
Olivia's POV:I had woken up from my afternoon nap when the hospital room door swung open."Who is there?" I sat up on the bed, feeling a bit better after waking up from my sleep. My headache had also lessened. However, my eyes widened in shock when I saw Mark return to the room. His yellow eyes met my blue eyes, locking with them, and I became so nervous and lowered my head."Hi, how are you doing?" Mark asked, his voice soft as he walked up to the hospital bed to meet me.Before I could respond, the hospital room door burst open again, and Dr. Sam entered and peered at us."What do you want, Doctor?" Mark asked, before I could. His voice was laced with irritation as he peered at Dr. Sam's face coldly."I should be the one asking you, Mark. You came here uninvited, and I need to keep watch to ensure that you are not doing anything to harm my patient," Dr. Sam replied bluntly, and my eyes widened in shock."How can I hurt Olivia? She is my sister, and it's my duty to protect her!" Mar
Mark's POV:Olivia was absentmindedly dressing in her room, so I hurriedly slipped out after seeing her náked. Thankfully, she didn't participate in any pack's activity because she did not have a wolf. Also, she has never celebrated her birthday before, as we only assumed her age. Mom and Dad didn't know who Olivia's real parents were. Except for the fact that she was dumped in a basket in front of the pack's orphanage home.I felt a pressing desire to protect Olivia, to claim her as mine. And I believe maybe that was why my parents had adopted her.Looking away from Emily's stern face, I smiled at Ava and said, "I came to shop for my lunch.""That's fine, Mark. I'm sorry that I missed coming to watch your basketball game against the Red Ballers. I was busy in class and I couldn't miss it," she said, her hand reaching out to touch my chiseled chest as she bit her bottom lip seductively.Stepping away from Ava's touch, I replied, "It's nothing that you should worry about. It's just a f
Mark's POV:"Wait, Mark! Where are you rushing to? We want to have a little celebration party for winning against the Red Ballers now, and yet, you're in a hurry. Is there something that you're hiding from us?" Daniel asked, moving forward to meet me. His gaze fixed on me coldly as he smirked.I didn't like how Daniel Ryan pointed out his questions, drawing the attention of our colleagues."It's personal. And I do not need to tell you," I replied, my voice calm, my eyes meeting Daniel's gaze. He was angry because Olivia rejected his advance toward her before he settled for Emily. How was that my fault?"Don't lie to us, Mark!" Daniel yelled, his eyes shooting daggers at me. "If at all you want to lie, you should have a little respect for Alpha Bryan!""Let him go, Daniel. I have no interest in what Mark wants to go and do. And since he said it's personal, you don't have to pick on him," Bryan chimed in, his voice gentle and trying to settle the rift between Daniel and me."Daniel, Bry

Olivia's POV:I swear I saw the look of desire cross Mark's eyes, as his lips parted to say something, but the door to my hospital room burst open and my foster mother, Nancy George, walked in, accompanied by her daughter, Emily.Their eyes locked on Mark and me, who were so close together on my bed.Oh no! Not again, I pondered, as I could feel my heart beating loudly in my chest. To my shock, Nancy didn't scream at me like I had expected her to do. And I remember Dr. Sam's warning to Mark that he would have my foster mother arrested for my sake. But that didn't stop her from peering at me contemptuously."What's going on here, Mark? Why are you here? Shouldn't you be in the basketball field, preparing for your match for today?" asked Nancy, as she peered at her son angrily."Good morning, Mom. I already called my coach and he said the match will not start until 12 p.m. today," Mark replied with a calm voice, but his mother frowned."Mmm. So why are you here to check on Olivia? You s
