"Wait, Mark! Where are you rushing to? We want to have a little celebration party for winning against Red Ballers now, and yet, you're in a hurry. Is there something that you're hiding from us?" Daniel asked, moving forward to meet me. His gaze fixed on me coldly as he smirked. I didn't like how Daniel pointed out his questions, drawing the attention of our colleagues in the locker room. "It's personal. And I do not need to tell you," I replied, my voice calm, my eyes meeting his gaze. Daniel was angry because Olivia rejected his advances before he settled for Emily. How was that my fault? "Don't lie to us, Mark?" Daniel yelled, his eyes shooting daggers at me. "If at all you want to lie, you should have a little respect for Alpha Bryan!" "Let him go, Daniel. I have no interest in what Mark wants to go do. And since he said it's personal, you don't have to pick on him," Bryan chimed in, his voice gentle and trying to settle the rift between Daniel and me. "Daniel, Bryan is right. You're just mad at Mark because his sister rejected you. How is it Mark's fault or problem that you got rejected by Olivia? Stop being a sore loser!" Caleb shouted, picking my side. For some odd reason, I think Caleb and his brothers share a small resemblance to Olivia, but I was not so sure if they were related to her. Moreover, they didn't have any sister. "Shut up, you three morons! I am not being sour about Olivia's rejection. Fine, I admit that I got pissed off that she rejected me, but what's so special about her? She's a wolfless girl and born on a moonless night. Who would want a wolfless girl like her? Huh?" Daniel yelled, making my fist clench. But I didn't show my disgust. After all, he was Bryan's Beta. "Say whatever you like about Olivia, if that will make you feel better. I am out of here," I replied, my voice stern as I turned to walk away and exit the locker room. Daniel called out to me, "Mark! I heard from Emily that you're defending Olivia at home! Are you secretly sleeping with her at home? After all, she is your adopted sister? Who knows what you both are doing behind closed doors. Or why do you suddenly seem to care about her now?" The room dropped silent as everyone waited to hear my response. Indeed, I rushed back home to take Olivia to the hospital after the housemaid, Tracy contacted me and informed me that my mother had beaten Olivia and left her to die in the living room. Three days ago, I was at my new home, trying to furnish it, when I left everything I was doing and rushed back to my father's house. I saw Olivia lying lifeless on the floor, and Mom had already left for her work, even though she was a nurse. She didn't care to check on Olivia. No one was at home, except for the housemaid who was a middle-aged woman. As I dashed into the living room, I rushed to carry Olivia in my arms and took her straight to my car. I placed her in the backseat and hopped into my red sports car driver's seat. Then I roared my car engine to life and drove straight to the pack's hospital. Upon my arrival at the pack's magnificent hospital, Mom saw me carrying Olivia into the emergency unit, and she was so furious seeing me, as she worked in the obstetrics unit. After I came out and the doctors and nurses attended to Olivia, Mom glared at me, but I didn't wait to speak to her as I rushed back to find out if Olivia was recovering in the emergency unit. Shutting my eyes at the painful memory, I turned to face Daniel, knowing that he was a sore loser, and I demanded, "Does it matter if I am fụcking Olivia at home? After all, she's beautiful. So stay the fụck out of my business!" "What??!" Everyone's jaw dropped in shock, including Bryan Anderson. His expression soured because I knew that he liked Olivia too, but he never voiced his thoughts. Bryan's alpha pheromones thickened the atmosphere as I knew that he frequently visited me at home, but I found out his visit was not because of me, but to get a glimpse of Olivia. I had caught Bryan stealing glances at Olivia too, but he couldn't admit to his feelings for her. After all, she was a wolfless omega. Also, Bryan is the next alpha of the Star Field Pack; his parents won't support him picking a wolfless Omega as his mate. Bryan's younger sister, Ava, was in Olivia's class, but they weren't friends. So that held him back from chasing after my foster sister, and I am okay with it. I knew Bryan cannot have a wolfless girl as his Luna, so that held him back from pursuing Olivia, but something in the way he looks at her made me uncomfortable and know that he desires her too. Clearing his throat, Bryan snarled, "Mark, how can you take advantage of Olivia? Did she agree to sleep with you, or did you force yourself on her?" Laughing, as I saw their questioning gaze, their eyes peered at me disdainfully, but I replied with a smirk, "I have standards and don't force myself on women. Stay away from my sister. Whatever relationship I have with Olivia is my headache. After all, she is not related to me by blood." The atmosphere in the room thickened as Coach Tyler had already left us. I spun and left them, shutting the door behind me. "Mark is damn crazy! How can he take advantage of that beautiful girl? Is it because she is an orphan? We heard her parents threw her out when she was born?" Caleb's voice resonated in the locker room, as I stood in the hallway preparing to leave for the hospital. They were not happy that I admitted to being in a relationship with Olivia. She was not my blood sister, so I didn't care what they had to say. Logan growled in my head, "Let's not pay attention to them. The earlier we claim Olivia, the better to keep them away from her." "You're right," I agreed with Logan, making my way out of the hallway and the basketball court. As I stepped outside, I got into my sleek red sports car. I drove off to the pack's hospital, anticipating to see Olivia. As I didn't want to arrive at the pack's hospital empty-handed, Logan advised me, "Mark, let's get a present for Olivia. What do you think that she will like?" As I drove down the road that leads to the pack's hospital, I caught sight of an eatery and I was famished. I was supposed to join my teammates for lunch, but I didn't want to spend much time with them, knowing that I had pressing matters to take care of. A smile curled up my lips, then I drove my car into the eatery's grounds and parked it. As I got out of my car, I came across Ava Anderson and my younger sister, Emily. "Hey, Mark!" Ava exclaimed, as she rushed up to envelope me in a warm hug. Her chest pressed against mine, and my wolf grimaced in disgust. Even though Ava was our Alpha's daughter, Logan didn't like her, as she was a cheap woman and had slept with many handsome guys in our pack. I was her new target, and I didn't want her as her eyes shamelessly raked over me with clear desire. She bit her bottom lip as she moved away, running her left fingers through her hair. She wore a yellow crop-top and pink shorts, with pink shoes. She was stunning with lengthy blonde hair and enchanting yellow eyes that glowed with so much lust in them. However, Emily glared at me and looked away. She was still annoyed that I had picked Olivia's side and protected Olivia against her. After all, Olivia was my sister, even as I planned to date her now. I cannot seem to get her out of my mind, especially after I had run into her náked. That day, I scolded myself for not knocking and going into her room.(Summer's POV)My heart fluttered as Mark carried me in his warm arms and took me to his room. His scent clung to me like a blanket. My heart raced and thudded against my chest as it dawned on me what he wanted. He wanted to make love to me.“Mark,” I whispered against his ear as he arrived at his bedroom door. I had missed this room after reuniting with my family. His touch and pleasure only lingered in my mind. When Mark stepped into the room, he set me down on my feet.“I have missed you so much,” he said, his voice thick with raw hunger for me.“I cannot wait to have you again, Summer. My Oli,” Mark said, and my heart fluttered at his words. When he drew next to me, his hand reached for my top and he helped me undress.I had left my bag in his living room, and I knew that my brothers or parents would be trying to reach me. But what mattered to me at the moment was trying to please my boyfriend. What started as a forbidden relationship now had my heart captive.I assisted Mark as I
(Mark's POV)I had wrapped up the last artwork piece in my study. Knowing that Summer was coming over to visit me, I swiftly rushed to arrange the house, cleaning everywhere as I had been busy. Though the woman I hired to clean showed up twice a week, I still ensured that I arranged everywhere before going to have my bath.I had missed Summer, and I could not wait to have alone time with her. When I finished my bath and got out of the bathroom, I gave Summer a call to find out how she was and if she was already on her way. I wanted to go and pick her up, too.To my surprise, Summer apologized about Emily’s text and told me she now has a driver. My eyes widened at how much the Grasyons had upgraded my girlfriend. Though I didn’t want to see Summer as my sister, I smiled and assured her that I trusted her. When the call ended, I quickly checked my chat to see what Emily had sent. It was a picture of Summer and a tall, masculine man in black pulling the car door for her like a gentleman.
(Summer's POV)When it was closing hour after the last lecture came to an end, Rita called out to me, “Summer, wait.” I paused and glanced over at Rita, watching her run up to meet me. “Did you call Christopher to find out where he is?” she asked, and I shook my head. “No, I did not call him. Since you said he went to assist his dad, I do not want to disturb him. I believe he will call when he is ready. After all, I just got to know him,” I replied calmly, my eyes watching Rita’s face. “Alright. You can go. I just wanted to ask if you called him,” Rita said, her blush evident. I didn’t understand Rita. Did she think I was lying and trying to date Christopher? Unable to hide my curiosity, I asked her, “Wait, Rita. So you do not trust me?” “No, Summer. It’s not that I do not trust you,” Rita said as she walked up to meet me. “I just wanted to know,” she replied softly. I knew Rita was lying, but I didn’t call her out for it. Even though I didn’t have a mate bond, I kne
(Summer's POV)As Rita and I walked away from Ava and Emily, I could feel my heart throbbing because I hadn’t expected Rita to stand up for me. My heart was racing loudly in my chest, knowing that Ava was an Alpha wolf and no one dared to provoke her. I could feel Ava’s disdain for me. Her eyes narrowed deeply, even as she pressed her nose to prevent herself from inhaling my scent. “Don’t worry about Ava,” Rita whispered into my ear as she led me out of the medical faculty for us to have lunch. How could I not worry about Ava? Could I trust Rita? I wanted to voice my complaint and tell Rita to return to Ava, but I held my tongue. I decided to play along to find out why Rita was now trying to be friendly to me. When we arrived at the cafeteria, my phone rang before I could step inside. Pulling out my phone, I had thought it was a call from Christopher apologizing for not showing up. But I was surprised to see it was a call from Mark. “Who is calling you?” Rita asked, her
Ava's POV:Seeing Rita take Summer's side made my blood boil as I watched them stride downstairs.Unable to hide my anger, I warned Emily to be careful of Summer."What do you think made Rita close to Summer? Is it because they are in the same class now? Just barely one day, and Rita has fallen for Summer's charm?" I muttered as I stopped one of the female students to ask her."What has gotten into Rita? Why does she care for Summer now?"The young lady in a brown dress had her eyes widen, and she said, "Oh, Rita accused Summer of trying to snatch her mate, Christopher Lawrence. So we think Rita is getting along with Summer to beg Christopher for her rejection.""What? Christopher is Rita's mate?" Emily gasped, as did I. Our eyes almost popped out of their sockets."Wait, you both do not know? I thought you were Rita's BFFs?" The lady asked, and I glared at her."Mind your language unless you want to rot in jail," I glared at her, and she lowered her head."I am sorry, Alpha. Please f
SUMMER'S POV:"Mom, Dad, Cooper. I'm off to school," I informed my parents after I had finished my breakfast at the dining table.I stood up to leave. My hand reached for my bag, which contained my books and the few I had borrowed from Christopher."Alright, Summer. Come on, let me see you off. You can use any car in the garage that you like. Next Saturday, we will present your own ride to you," Dad commented as he rose to his feet to escort me out of the house."Really? Thanks, Dad," I said as my father walked up to meet me. He placed his hand across my shoulder, then escorted me to the car.Mom and Cooper stayed indoors, and I chose to hop into the black sports car.Dad turned to Mr. Raymond and instructed him in a serious voice. "Drive safely.""Got it, Sir," Mr. Raymond replied before slipping into the driver's seat of the car."Goodbye, Dad," I waved, watching as Dad stood at the front while Mr. Raymond ignited the car and drove off to the university. My hand reached for my phone
