My eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the artificial light coming from the bedside lamp in my room. Ugh, does it have to be so bright? I rolled onto my side, staring at the cement wall. The balmy air was cranked up as my skin stuck to the sheets beneath me.

He brought me back.

Shards of glass tore at my chest, a part of my soul missing as he left. The bond called for him. My wolf whimpered, sinking low into the recesses of my mind. I can feel the torrent of his emotions through the bond clashing between one another, but through them all, I can see he genuinely believes this is for the best. I can see the camera in the corner turning to watch me, the blinking red light flashing. Is he watching me now?
