I Will Not Marry Him!

last update 게시일: 2026-01-22 02:41:59

Willow's POV

Him?

They wanted me to marry him?

The man who walked into our living room looked older than my uncle. His hair was all white and his face had begun to crease. He seemed to be in his fifties. He was tall and still broad for an older man, but that did not change the fact that he was old.

Too old.

His eyes travelled over my body with a glint that made my skin crawl. He turned to my uncle and licked his lips.

“She is beautiful,” he said, coming closer.

A shiver ran through me at the sound of his voice. I knew who he was.

Augustus Black.

He was the town's notorious bachelor. He used money to cover his crimes and he took advantage of the younger girls. Money was not his only power. He was the older brother to the pack's Luna, and that protection meant he could do as he pleased.

No one in their right mind would marry him.

My aunt and uncle were only blinded by poverty.

“What's your name sweetheart?” His hand touched my face and bile rose in my throat. I remembered the girl in the market who had said he had raped her after her stepmother sent her to deliver vegetables to his house.

Why would they set me up with him?

“Can't you speak?” He stepped closer. His voice had risen a note in annoyance.

His hand moved from my cheek and trailed down my neck. I glanced at my aunt and uncle. They were smiling. Could they not see how he looked at me? Did they not know the vile things he had done?

“Don't touch me” I gasped as his palm slid to my lower back.

He frowned and looked at my uncle. “This was not the deal.”

“We are sorry. She is just shy,” my aunt blurted.

My lips parted to speak but I kept it shut

My uncle stepped forward. “Her name is Willow and as you can see, she is very beautiful and very young. She can give you good pups.”

Augustus laughed with him, then the amusement faded from his face.

“I will take her home. If I like her then we can go along with the plans.”

“No problem. She is all yours,” my uncle said, shoving me forward. I planted my feet and refused to move.

This was wrong.

“What about…?” my aunt started, as she twirled her hair nervously

“Here you go.” Augustus opened a briefcase and passed it to her. When she looked inside her face lit up.

They were selling me for money.

They did not even try to hide it.

“Say your goodbyes. I'll be waiting in the car,” he said and walked out.

The door shut and I collapsed to my knees. “Please, I beg you. I'll be good. Don't sell me to him. Please.” Tears ran freely as I pleaded with joint hands.

“Nonsense. We've already sold you. There is nothing to be done now,” my aunt said, voice flat.

“You either go to the car yourself or I'll take you there by force,” my uncle warned.

“Please don't do this. I'm sorry if I've ever wronged you… just don't…” My words broke as my uncle hoisted me up and carried me toward the door. I fought, but he held me like a sack. He threw me into the car and slammed the door. I flung at it, but it was locked.

“Don't be scared Willow. I don't bite.” Augustus's hand settled on my lap and he stroked it as if comforting a pet.

Tears streamed, but I kept my mouth closed. I was alone with him now. He could hurt me if I wasn't careful.

*********

My tears had not stopped since I arrived. The head maid told me if I obeyed and behaved, I would enjoy my time here, but how could I accept a fate with such a monstrous animal?

They dressed me in black lingerie the maid forced me to wear. My hair was pinned up so it would not get in the way and I had been scrubbed until my skin stung, yet I felt filthy.

I wrapped the thin robe I found around myself and tried to think. I had to escape. But how?

The door opened and Augustus stepped in.

He disgusted me even more now than before.

“Are you ready to behave?” he asked in a low voice.

I nodded, not because I trusted him, but because fear had been rooted in me.

He moved toward the bed and sat down beside me. “You don't have to be scared. I'll be gentle.” He shrugged off his jacket and emptied his pockets on the table.

That was when I saw it.

A knife.

My chest hammered so hard I thought he might hear it. The blade was small, but to me it was everything.

“Excuse me for a minute,” he said and went to the bathroom.

When he returned he was different, he was a little slow, unfocused, as if he had swallowed something that pulled at the edges of his senses, maybe he took a pill. He grabbed me from the bed and dragged me against him. His body pressed into mine. My skin crawled.

Every nerve screamed for me to run, but I had to remain careful. One wrong move and he could end me.

“You're very pretty” he murmured and leaned in to kiss me. I turned my face away immediately. My first kiss was not going to be with a man like this.

Annoyed, he clamped a hand on my cheek to force me still. His fingers dug into my skin and his breath reeked of wine and something sharper.

Panic turned my fingers into ice. I slid my hand inside my robe and closed around the knife. My arm shook, hairs standing on end. Adrenaline split through me like lightning. I pictured the market girl's face, my uncle and aunt's face, and the briefcase that had bought me. There was no other way.

Just as his lips bent toward mine, I drove the blade forward into his gut. I twisted it and kicked him down. He let out a grunt and fell to the ground with a heavy thud.

I did not stop to listen to the noises of the room. I tightened my robe around myself, took some things from the table and fled.

I tore out of the house and into the woods. Footsteps pounded behind me. I did not look back. I knew Augustus's men would chase. I ran blind between trees, lungs burning, branches whipping at my face. Every snap of a twig made me flinch. My heart hammered against my ribs so loudly I feared it would give me away.

“Ouch.” I slammed into a trunk and toppled to the earth, the breath knocked from me. For a moment I thought it was over.

Then a hand grabbed mine and hauled me up. I did not see him clearly; his grip was fierce. He ran and pulled me along.

Something moved inside me. Maybe it was the terror of surviving, maybe the fear that I could be killed in any second  but I knew, with a certainty that surprised me, that the person holding my hand was not just my savior, he was my…

  • His Brother's Fated Mate   Chapter 83

Willow’s POVAs Lucas left, Julian came into my room right after him. He closed the door behind himself and walked over, he had a ridiculous grin on his face as inched closer. “Hey, you” He stopped right in front of me and leaned down. The sudden closeness made my heart skip. But Mia. I placed a hand firmly against his chest, stopping him before our lips could meet.Julian stopped, looking a bit shocked and hurt by my rejection. “What did Lucas tell you?” he asked, his voice dropped“It is not about Lucas” I said, shaking my head as I dropped my hand. “Mia can walk in at any time. What if she sees us?”“So what if she does?” “Mia is in love with you, and she is my best friend”Julian looked at me, a sudden cloud of doubt passed over his face. “Do you regret what happened last night?”I met his eyes instantly, wanting to erase that look from his face. “No, I don't. I don't regret it at all, Julian. But I can't let Mia know until it's the right time. Can we just keep it a secr

  • His Brother's Fated Mate   You Are Right

Willow’s POV“Woah” Julian let out as he stepped back from the kiss. My heart was beating fast. I had never done something so bold before. What if he didn’t like it? “I’m sor…” before I could finish. His hand wrapped around my waist and he pulled me close. I felt goosebumps as he leaned down and our lips met again. My eyes closed instinctively. I gripped his arms for support as our lips moved in sync. We separated again and he stared into my eyes as if searching for an answer. “What does this mean?” He whispered with a smile on his face.“I think it means I want to give us a chance” I matched his smile. His hand cupped my face and I leaned into his touch. I never noticed how big his hands were before. “I promise you won’t regret this decision” he whispered gently. I nodded and deep down. I knew he was the right one for me. No one else understood me like him. No one else loved me like him. I may not have felt strongly for him as I did for Lucas but that was just because of the

  • His Brother's Fated Mate   Something Is Missing.

Willow’s POVJust like I expected, Lucas didn’t tell me the truth. He gave me a half assed explanation that made no sense but I didn’t argue. Getting Caleb to his family was more important. Cassie was so happy to see Caleb and his family were relieved. He had lost his memory of what happened and instead of helping him remember, Lucas blatantly lied to his family saying hie was kidnapped by rogues. Once I settled in my room. I dropped flat on my bed and spread my arms wide.Everything I knew was a lie.My father was not a human. He was a witch. I sat up right and crossed my arms around my knees. I wondered if my dad was fine. If he even knew that I was alive. Was he in Enchantia? I had answers about who I was but it only led me to more questions. As I shifted on the bed. A piece of paper dropped from my pocket. It was the letter Julian wrote. When I kept this, I had no idea why but now in a world where I had to guess everything. There was one thing I did not have to guess and

  • His Brother's Fated Mate   Lucas's POV 3

Lucas’s POV“Bloody hell” the wizard king yelled. “You trashed my bunker and almost killed my staff and you can’t remember any of it?”“I…” Willow started to say but the wizard king was livid“Are you mentally okay? Aren’t wild wolf hybrids supposed to be kept locked up in some…”“Do not talk to her like that?” I interrupted him, setting myself in front of her protectively.“You brought this upon yourself when you took our own”“I only did that to…” the wizard king started“That doesn’t matter now. Let him out of there, he needs help” I stated seriously. The wizard king gestured to one of the scared scientists“Take him and give him some medical help. The project is over” The scientist opened the cage and helped Caleb up before leading him up the stairs for help.“Something isn’t right, Lucas. Why does he keep talking like you’re aware of this” Willow said in a low voice behind me“I’ll explain everything later”“What are you?” The wizard king asked, he was looking straight at Will

  • His Brother's Fated Mate   Lucas's POV 2

Lucas’s POVI walked down slowly behind him, my muscles tensed and ready for a fight. I expected to see a commotion with his staff or Caleb trying to escape, but instead I saw…The heavy metal door to the bunker was wide open. Broken glass and scattered papers covered the cold concrete floor, reflecting the harsh white lights of the lab. Two scientists were curled up in fear in a corner. Then I saw her.Willow.But she did not look like the girl I knew. She was on top of a heavily armored guard, pinning him to the floor with terrifying strength. Her hands were gripped tight around his collar. When she looked up for a split second, my breath caught in my throat. Her eyes were not their usual color. They were a glowing, piercing red. Her claws were fully extended, digging deep into the thick fabric of the guard's uniform. She looked feral, driven by a raw, unfiltered rage that I had never seen in her before. She was beautiful. The Wizard King pushed past me, his face twisted in shoc

  • His Brother's Fated Mate   Lucas's POV

Lucas’s POV“This ought to be a joke” the Wizard King said. He straightened himself in his chair, his eyes following the door for a long moment after Willow had left the room. I stood my ground, my feet planted firmly on the plush carpet. “With all due respect, I would not leave my pack and come here for the sake of comedy”I hated, no loathed when people did not take me seriously. The King leaned forward, his face hardened into a mask of cold fury. “The kid we took was because of you. You know that!”I felt a surge of heat in my chest, guilt mixed with a pang of fear but I did not let it show. “I specifically told my father to stop. No one needs to be hurt for my sake. Let the boy go”“I cannot do that” he snapped“You will do as I say” I countered. I didn't raise my voice, but I let the weight of my words hang in the air. I was done having a peaceful conversation. He stood up abruptly, his shadow loomed large against the bookshelves. “You are a puppy compared to me. You are on

  • His Brother's Fated Mate   Big Sister...

Willow’s POV“What is going on here?”Oh shit.I turned around slowly to see the Wizard King. His daughter was crying and he looked absolutely pissed. The air in the hallway seemed to get colder just from his gaze.“Why is she crying?” the Wizard King asked, his voice was low and dangerous.“I...”

  • His Brother's Fated Mate   It Is Over

Willow’s POV Mia made payments for the hair and we left the salon. I thought we’d go back to school but Mia didn’t want to. And I was glad she didn’t want to. There was no point. After everything that had happened, neither of us was in the mood to face the hallways. Instead, we headed straigh

  • His Brother's Fated Mate   Finally Being Noticed.

Logan’s POV"It's my dad" I muttered and pressed the answer button. He never called me. I always heard information from Lucas about what he wanted from me. This was weird. I hoped my mother was well. I pressed the phone to my ear“Hello, Sir”“Come home, now” his voice vibrated through the phone

  • His Brother's Fated Mate   You Have To Leave

Willow’s POVLogan’s hands rested on the steering wheel, his green eyes stayed glued to mine. Waiting for an answer. He had just asked me to come home with him. A part of me felt like it was the best thing to say yes but I just couldn’t bring myself to actually say the words. I looked down at my l
