Chapter 125

Liana's POV

I couldn't keep still. Even throughout the entire drive home. I tried my level best to keep my emotions in check, but alongside my thoughts, they were all haywire, and were scattered around the place. When we were headed towards Serena's house this morning, I thought we arrived pretty fast, but now that we were on our way back to the palace, I couldn't help but feel like we could have arrived a long time if we wanted to.

The trees whizzed past me, but they didn't do so as fast as I would have preferred. I didn't know how to drive, but I was this close at telling at the driver to let me take the wheel

“How long do we have before we get to the palace?” I asked after a while. I couldn't pretend to be patient anymore even if I wanted to. “we've been driving for hours. Did you take a longer route perhaps?”

“Not at all ma'am.” The driver called. “It's the same one as before, but I promise we'll be home in no time.”

He didn't fulfill his promise. If anything, he

  • Mated To The Alpha King   Chapter 129

Liana's POV It was one thing to spy on someone, and it was another thing to finally find out what you'd been suspecting for a long time, or at least, something close to the truth. But what had to be the worst of them all, was the fact that sometimes one would have to go to certain lengths to find out the said truth, and usually, it spawned as far as speaking to someone you never saw yourself talking to. It could be a long lost friend, someone you cut communication with, or someone you just hate, and in my case, the latter was my only option. I'd always heard that fate had a snarky sense of humor but I wasn't sure I'd experienced it up until now, because it was so hilarious that the one person I hated, was now going to be playing a role in finding out what the hell Richard was up to. Shit. A small groan slid past my lips, as I ran a hand through my hair. I'd been doing that for the longest time now, and when I said I was nowhere near feeling better, I wasn't telling a lie. If a

  • Mated To The Alpha King   Chapter 128

Liana's POV Time seemed to crawl to a halt between both of us. I wasn't one to be overly dramatic, but when I said the scene in front of me looked nothing short of something straight from a thriller or a horror movie, then it was best you believed me. I couldn't breathe, not because I was in the wrong, but because Richard's gaze had refused to leave mine. There was a certain glint in his eyes that I didn't like one bit. It didn't reveal too much, but it definitely wasn't ordinary, and I hated it. I waited patiently for Richard to break the silence between us. The air was thick with tension, and if even I used a butter knife to tear a huge chunk of it, i wasn't sure it was going to make any difference. I had no idea what was going through Richard's mind, but it definitely wasn't ordinary thoughts. Was he mad that I had walked in? But I'd made sure to knock, so why would he have a problem with that? If the dessert I had in my hands weren't perishable, then best believe that I wou

  • Mated To The Alpha King   Chapter 127

Liana's POV Plot twists they said always made life funny. They also said it added a little spice to an event, but in all my life, I wasn't sure I'd heard of a scenario where a plot twist added a little bit too much spice to the mix, because right now, I had just experienced one, and I wasn't sure the end result was going to be pretty. Time seemed to slow to a halt as I watched what would unfold next. My hand sat pretty in Kieran's, but it burned, and I didn't have a doubt to be able to see that he was burning up because he was mad. All he was doing was simply radiating the anger he felt to me and probably the other man. Kieran had no idea I was analyzing his mood. Instead, he stood rooted in his spot, his eyes trained on the other man. His eyes were bloody red and I was sure if looks could kill, then the other man would be six foot under the ground by now. “What the hell do you think you're doing?” Kieran let out slowly, and when I said I felt the entire place shake, I wasn't l

  • Mated To The Alpha King   Chapter 126

Liana's POV I didn't have a lot going today, and for some strange reason, I really didn't mind. Usually, I loved to fill my days with a million and one activities. In fact, as many as I can think of, but recently, I'd begun to bask in the silence that came with not doing anything. Maybe pregnancy was finally starting to take a toll on me, but whatever it was, I found myself craving uneventful days even more Maybe it had something to do with the fact that I had time to do whatever I wanted to do. I could lounge in the garden all day, I could even decide to turn on a movie and munch on my snack for as long as I wanted, and no one would bother me. Well, no one asides Tiva and Kieran though. Those two were obsessed with making sure I was safe during my pregnancy and whatnot, even though I continually told them that I was fine. I flipped open the page of my book, all whilst sipping the glass of orange juice Tiva had set out for me. I was just about to go into the next page, when my p

Kieran's POV Shouts echoed in the distance, and even though I wasn't a fan of noise, I wouldn't be exaggerating when I said I loved the sounds that reached my ears. They weren't just meaningless echoes and what not, but instead, they signified my first step at the completion of something I've only ever dreamed about. The pack's own sustainable and renewable source of energy. Today was the official day for the beginning of the project, and it would be an understatement to say I was excited. My body thrummed like the mere thought of it all was sending goosebumps and shivers down my spine. Today, I was finally going to see one of my dreams come true. I stood rooted to my spot as I watched the man walk up and down. Each one of them were busy, some hauling wooden materials, and the others carrying heavy pieces of iron and what not. I was still admiring it all when someone tapped me in the shoulder. “Good day sir.” He echoed beside me and I realized he was one of the construction man

  • Mated To The Alpha King   Chapter 131

Liana's POV A small groan slid past my lips as I slowly stirred awake. A dull pain throbbed at my sides, and even though it was somewhat mild, my body still registered it as a threat to my survival. I tried to roll to the other side, thinking it was a good idea, but apparently, my body had other plans. I had barely come in contact with the cushion underneath me, before the pain I was feeling earlier intensified. The urge to scream rose up my throat, but I pushed it back down again. I wasn't even sure where I was, so screaming wasn't even the best thing I could come up with. Judging from the time and places I'd woken up in, I thought it best to be as quiet as I could be. What if I'd been kidnapped or hidden somewhere? Yelling was only going to bring me an insane amount of attention, and that was the last thing I wanted for myself. I muttered underneath my breath as I forced myself to sit up, all with my eyes closed. I let out another sigh as my back came in contact with a soft k
