Talia’s POV

The bakery looked… wounded.

That was the first thought that crossed my mind as I stood across the street, staring at the cracked windows and scorched bricks. Charred marks still kissed the edges of the walls like ugly fingerprints that refused to fade. Scaffolding hugged the building now, metal poles and wooden planks crisscrossing the front like a brace holding broken bones together.

But it wasn’t ruined.

Workers moved in and out with quiet determination—omegas, mostly—carrying planks, hauling paint buckets, scrubbing soot from the bricks. Someone had replaced the front sign, though it was temporary. Hope’s Hearth, written in bold white letters on cheap wood.

Hope.

My chest tightened.

They were rebuilding. Despite the fear. Despite the council. Despite everything.

I took a step closer, breathing in the familiar scent of flour and sugar that lingered faintly in the air, stubborn and comforting. This place mattered. To them. To me.

For a moment, the ache in my ches

  • Mated To The Alpha Who Bullied Me   Chapter 173: lonely

Talia's POVI stared at the white ceiling above. The house felt emptier, lonelier. Cassian was busy with Alpha duties, Nicole was outside the pack doing Beta duties. Mrs Alanna was out doing goddess knows what with warriors. Alpha Black was far away. And the omegas hate my guts and believe I killed my sister out of jealousy. I felt bored out of my mind, and useless. The bathroom was still messy with broken glass, evidence of what I'd done earlier. It was both terrifying and exciting. I got out of bed, needing to do something, to train perhaps, or continue my research on my powers. First, I'd need to find Mrs Alanna. She'd know exactly where to find my assigned trainer. I slipped on a hoodie and padded out of the room, careful to avoid the bathroom. I wasn't ready to look at the mess again—not the glass. The house echoed as I walked, every footstep too loud, too noticeable in the quiet.Useless.Restless.That was a dangerous combination. The pack house smelled different as I walk

  • Mated To The Alpha Who Bullied Me   Chapter 172: I’m leaving

Nicole's POVThe room was submerged in darkness, the only source of light was the sunlight bleeding through the curtains. I didn't bother with the light; I went straight to the bathroom, where Talia was. Her voice had sounded fractured, strained, giving off an impression of urgency. But when my ears finally caught her heartbeat, it wasn't as erratic as I expected it. No—it was calm. It was too calm. Calmer than normal. "Talia?" The soft click of the door unlocking was what I got in response. I turned the knob, pushing the door open tentatively. I froze at the sight in front of me. The bathroom was barely recognisable. Shards of mirror hovered in midair, suspended as if frozen in time. The glass gleamed like a constellation caught in a single heartbeat, trembling ever so slightly.Talia stood at the centre, her chest rising and falling rapidly, her hands trembling—but there was a light in her eyes I didn't understand. Something fierce, something not entirely human or wolf. The

  • Mated To The Alpha Who Bullied Me   Chapter 171: leave the pack

Nicole's POV"She doesn't get to." He responded, his eyes hardening. "She doesn't get to do this to us twice."I sighed, taking the seat opposite him. "What's the plan?" He leaned back in his seat, drumming his fingers on the table. He hesitated—for just a moment—then spoke, his voice low, unguarded. "What if she's not after us? What if she escaped to go somewhere else?"That desperate hope clung to him like a vice—tight, suffocating, impossible to shake. I'd thought of it too, considering the fact that she could've changed, could've let go of the darkness. But I knew better. People don't change overnight. Especially not Kira. Her hatred for Talia was too intense, too consuming. It had eaten her alive until there was no humanity left. She'd betrayed her pack, betrayed her bed friends without remorse. So no, I didn't believe she'd changed. "She hates your mate too much to do that." His eyes hardened, his shoulders tensing as if the reminder alone was a blow. "Yeah." He nodded,

  • Mated To The Alpha Who Bullied Me   Chapter 170: I didn’t do anything.

Talia’s POV The sensation spread slowly, like a vibration under my skin—deep in my chest, pulsing outward in steady waves. Not painful. Not exactly pleasant either. Unfamiliar. I pressed a hand to my sternum, breath hitching. "What is that...?" I whispered. The bond flared faintly, reactive but distant—Cassian was already too far away to feel it clearly. The hum grew stronger. My skin prickled, goosebumps racing up my arms. The lights above flickered once. I froze. My pulse thundered in my ears as the vibration deepened, settling into my bones. It felt ancient. Heavy. Like something stretching awake after a long sleep. It was almost like that day at the bakery. I wasn't angry anymore. I was overwhelmed. My thoughts tangled, emotions crashing into one another—fear folding into grief, grief into rage, rage into something sharp and unyielding. I am not weak. The mirror across from me cracked. Just a thin line at first, spidering outward from the centre. I

  • Mated To The Alpha Who Bullied Me   Chapter 169: Kira escaped.

Talia's POVI woke to the sound of movements. It was subtle, quiet, yet I caught it. I'd gotten accustomed to waking up early—thanks to Mrs Alanna—but it annoyed me still. My eyes opened slowly, the room still dim with early morning light. Grey slithered through the curtains, casting long shadows on the wall. For a moment, I thought I'd imagined it until I focused. Cassian stood near the dresser, already dressed. Boots on, shirt buttoned, hair pulled back neatly, like he'd been awake for a while. Like he was leaving. I felt a pang of disappointment. I didn't say anything, just watched him from the bed, my head still heavy on the pillow, the sheets warm around me. The bond between us hummed low, not agitated—just... aware. He knew I was awake. He always did.Cassian paused mid-motion, his hand hovering near his jacket.I felt it then—the shift. The subtle tightening of the bond as my disappointment leaked through despite my silence. He exhaled slowly and turned."I didn't want to

  • Mated To The Alpha Who Bullied Me   Chapter 168: will you stay with me?

Talia's POVI stood right in front of her grave, an ache curling in my heart. Amanda's words rang in my head—loud and right. I did kill my sister. I stabbed her with a knife. Damien sat in the car, watching me through tinted glass. I guess Cassian finally assigned me a guard. The sky was grey, just like the day she'd been buried. It was almost like the goddess could sense my pain. No. I didn't feel pain. Not anymore. What I felt was anger, rage. I was angry at the world, angry at Tasha for losing her mind, for attacking me, for bringing us to this. I was angry at the council for setting me up. I was angry at Cassian for—Damnit. I heard footsteps approaching, caught a familiar scent, but I couldn't register it. Not when my heart was beating so wildly, not when all I wanted to do was scream and cry at the same time. My emotions were all over the place—too much, too fast.I felt the hum of the matebond before strong arms wrapped around me, spinning me gently, yet firmly. Cassia
