Blood Sucking Intruders

I gasped at the explicit declaration, cold sweat washing me over. The mere thought of him giving me away as to be nearly a human was making me tremble on a spot.

We’ve stayed off each other’s raider for an entire week and one encounter with them gave me off to having no wolf. In every werewolf pack, having no wolf is the worst kind of scenario; it’s the same as being useless and a human.

At this moment I didn’t mind the little pebbles prickling my knees to near red, the realization of how stupid I seemed to be, kept hitting me repeatedly.

Is he gonna give me away? Maybe?… still maybe…

“It’s been one week since you arrived in my territory with the excuse of clearing your parents' name yet nothing has happened. Your laziness is enough to suspect you having another intention in coming back.” He continued in an eloquent manner which portrayed his powerful leadership side.

“This is to inform you all that this female human right here…” low gasps filled the air even before he could complete his statement.

“She is with no wolf! Would have to say that she’s a threat planted by the human society to give our existence away but she had spent her years staying with an important pack member and a friend” he said.

I wiped the tears forming in my eyes and waited for his cruel judgment with bated breaths. Arnold arrived just in time.

His hair was tousled and wet, his undercut so clean and neatly shaped. He looks so mysteriously magnificent under the morning sun.

His expression is so unreadable just like his brother!

The moment he enters, Aiden paused for a milli second and the pack members all bowed to welcome him.

Coming in with him are hefty wolves, both male and female. I could tell he’s been out training with them like Evie had explained.

The twin Alphas exchanged brief eye contact but it was as if they’ve communicated a whole lot with the little amount of time.

I see Arnold roll his eyes as he plumped into his chair, the disinterest written on his face.

Scornful-looking Vickie walked to his side and immediately placed her right hand on his back.

Not sure if what I noticed in his eyes was slight irritation but I see Vickie withdrawing her hand immediately.

A deep voice that had been feasting upon my soul pierced through the air again.

“I will give room for suggestions on how to punish this daughter of a traitor,” he said.

My heart raced rapidly in fear, almost running out of my chest for safety if not for the rib cage restraining my fearful spirit.

“Put her to death! Rip her into shreds! Throw her to the rogues!” Angry voices emanated from the crowd.

I remained pinned to the ground with the she-wolf's imposing arms. I could not bring myself to face them.

Just then Arnold stood up abruptly with a loud growl, his anger passing across forcing the wolves to cower in fear and immediately shut their mouth.

“It’s getting noisy, just one person out of the elders should speak,” he said as he rubs the bridge of his nose with his claw, it sprang out when he got angry just now… he seems to be having a serious anger issue.

My eyes drifted off the Alpha twins now searching for the elders who are seated by the far left side among the crowds.

When did they have time to arrange this sitting?!

My lips snapped shut when an elderly she-wolf rose to her feet and I can feel the color draining out of my face. The light at the end of the tunnel runs far off at such a great speed.

The elderly she-wolf gave me a pitiful look as the corner of her mouth lifted to talk, her voice frail yet still loud enough for everyone to hear.

Her speech was interrupted by Aiden’s sudden movement. He looked at his brother for a moment and anger surfaced from his scary cold eyes.

“What insubordination!” I heard him say and immediately the hefty-looking wolves rushed away from the scene.

What’s going on?

“Put her in the rat dungeon for now,” Aiden said before leaving in a rush throwing the people in further confusion as they scurried away too.

Evie took the chance to rush over to my side crying river.

“I’ll get Mrs. Ruby for you okay? She’s probably at the pack hospital” she said.

“What’s going on Evie? Why did they suddenly leave?” I asked her.

“There was news of blood-sucking species roaming around the pack border last two weeks and now our warriors at the border are missing,” she said to me as she wipes away my tears.

“What?”

Now that’s enough reason to suspect me of anything.

Evie helped me up to my feet but it was in no time when two she-wolves snatched my arms from her dragging me away.

Evie was roughly pushed to the side. I feel so bad for getting her involved with me.

After minutes of dragging which turned my dress into tattered rags and now looked like a real slave, we arrived at a dark place that should be their dungeon.

“Put her in the dark room with rats, she can feed on those!” One of the she-wolves said with disgust in her voice.

At the declaration of my position as a worthless human, the guard wasted no time in pushing me into the dark room as instructed.

I’m not Nyctophobic but the voidness in this dark room is making me suffocate and restless. How long do I have to be in here?

It’s like my brain was shrinking and the walls were coming so close together to squeeze me out.

“Argh” I moaned at the sharp pain infiltrating my chest.

The sound of rats squeaking made me jump to my feet, running and hitting the walls repeatedly.

This time, I hit the wall so hard that I crashed roughly on the rocky ground.

The sound of the rats became so close to my ears and clawing mercilessly at my bruises.

Am I going to die here? No, I don’t want to die… moon goddess please help me if my parents are innocent!

They died unjustly on this land, your gifted soil took in their blood.

Life was already draining out of me… but I noticed the rats were no longer there.

What happened to the rats?

Just then, the dungeon wall exploded and it crashed heavily down to the floor.

Covered in debris and shock, I could not carry my body to run toward the light.

Is this my secret helper helping me for the last time?

Perhaps not… I see a red glowing eye, his burly body slowly moving towards me. I could not see clearly from the blood that has seeped into my eyes but then he moved and he was fast.

So damn fast! Who is he? Can’t be a werewolf.
