*Jaxon's POV*

"It's been a long day." Piper sighed as she sat next. "Why don't we get some rest?"

"Okay." I nodded. "But I'm not sleeping in a bed that piece of scum slept in."

"Of course not." She gave me a small smile. "There's a guest room that you and I will take for the night."

Piper grabbed my hand and led the way to the room. I followed behind her silently, trying to think of what to say. There was so much on my mind still, things I needed to get off my chest before we could go back to normal.

"Right here." Piper opened the door and we entered a room that I could tell hadn't been touched recently.

I looked around for a moment, sniffing to see if there was the scent of any other wolf. There wasn't.

"This will do."

Piper shut the door and took a seat on the bed. "Do you think he'll come back tonight?"

"No." I shook my head as I sat next to her. "Matteo is dumb, but he's not that dumb. He'll probably need a few days to get a plan in order before he tries to come for any of us agan
