FAZER LOGINSORAYA
This man wants to kill me, like he really wants to kill me. He’s looking at me with so much concentration, and he looks strong as hell. I thought he was human, but he’s clearly not, so what the fuck is he?
Is he a werewolf? I’m not sure; all I know is he’s a man dressed entirely in black tactical gear. He wears a hooded cape and a sculpted black lower-face mask, exposing only intense blue eyes. Daggers and weapons are holstered at his belt.
“What the fuck do you want, man? What did I ever do to you?”
He doesn’t answer; he holds the sword and walks toward me. My claws are out, and we’re both walking in circles in this alleyway. This is not how I wanted to spend my night. I actually thought I met the love of my life, but of course that can’t be. There’s no love for a girl like me. I’m too ambitious for love.
“Look, man, I don’t know what you want, but I don’t want any trouble. I just want to go home, okay? You don’t have to do this.” he points the sword at me. I don’t think he gives a fuck about what I’m saying; he came here to kill me, and the only reason he’d leave is if I’m dead.
And if I’m going to die, at least let me put up a fight.
“Okay, since you want to fight, let’s fight.”
He runs toward me, and Lord Jesus, he’s fast.
“Shit.” he attacks me with the sword, but I duck, and I kick him from behind; he falls headfirst on the ground.
“Aha!” I raise my hands victoriously, and maybe I should not have done that because I fall to the ground because this man has swept me to the ground.
“Fuck.” I mutter, trying to get up, but the man grabs me by the neck, and he steadies me to slice my head off with this sword. I can’t believe I’m going to be killed by a sword. I try my best to escape from his grip, but no budge.
I try my best to shift, because I believe that’s when I’m strongest.
Come on, shift, shift, turn into a wolf. What the hell did you even do the first time? But nothing. Nothing is happening; I’m still being held like an animal in a slaughterhouse.
Oh, well, at least I’ll see my mom. That’s what I think. I’ve already accepted my fate until I hear growling. At first I think It’s coming from me, and I’m turning into a wolf, but it’s not from me. The killer and I both look to the side to see two werewolves. One with golden colored eyes and the other with red eyes.
Their claws and fangs are out, and they’re looking at the masked assailant with so much anger. Jose and Miguel, the two werewolves I was running away from, are here to save my life.
They run toward the killer, and he throws me to the side like I’m nothing. He starts fighting the werewolves, who know how to fight better than me.
Huh, some alpha werewolf I am. These two are doing a bang-up job at fighting this man. Two against one.
I put my focus more on Jose; I don’t know why I’ve been focused on Jose since I saw him. I mean, yes, he is hot; he’s handsome and hot as fuck! I can see that; a blind girl can see that. But that’s not the only reason why I’m focused on him.
There’s something about him that just draws me closer and closer, and I don’t know what. But he is not just handsome; he’s a handsome, skilled fighter.
Jose throws a punch at the man’s face, and he stops fighting. He looks at us all, but he pays attention to me the most, and then he takes something from his bag and then blows it at us.
I close my eyes, and I start to cough, but I’m not the only one who is coughing; both Jose and Miguel are coughing as well.
When whatever the man threw clears up, the man disappears. He’s no longer here.
I let out a sigh of relief. I’m not dying this night. I’m definitely not meeting my mom this night, and as much as I love my mom, I’m lowkey relieved. I’m not ready to die just yet; I’m still so young.
“Are you okay?” Miguel asks me, and I wish it were Jose who asked. I want him to ask about me for once. God damn it, does he even speak?
I did hear him speak when he saved me from George the vampire, and it was sexy as hell. So why isn’t he saying anything to me? And why the fuck do I care so much?
“Yes, I’m okay.”
“Good,” Miguel says with a smile.
“Who the fuck was that and why was he trying to kill me?”
“We don’t know who the man is per se, but we believe-” Miguel stops talking and then looks at Jose.
I look between them, waiting for one of them to answer. “You believe what?”
Jose sighs and rolls his eyes. There he goes again; it’s almost like he doesn’t like me. Why doesn’t he like me?
“A shifter hunter.”
“A shifter hunter?” I ask.
“Yes, they’re responsible for wiping out a whole bunch of shifters from around the world. They have a kind of magic that makes them strong and makes them sense shifters; now they want you dead.” Jose explains.
“But what did shifters do?”
“All will be explained if you stop running and just come to the penthouse with us.” I don’t like his tone, but honestly, I’m done running, and I really need answers. I obviously cannot escape this, so I have no choice but to go with them so I get the answers that I need.
“Fine,” I say begrudgingly.
“Great.” he does the same, and then he walks away.
“Is he always this brumpy?” I ask Miguel.
“Yep,” he says.
“Damn, he should loosen his asshole a bit,” I say, and Miguel laughs.
“I tell him that every time.”
“I heard that!”
“Oh, fuck werewolf hearing.”
“Werewolf-” and then I remember hearing a lot of things that I shouldn’t be hearing when I was on the train. I have a heightened sight and hearing that’s cool. But what’s not cool is someone trying to kill me. I need to know who those people are and why they’re doing this, so I follow the two werewolves back to the penthouse. Off to Manhattan I go again.
We get off Jose’s red Toyota Camry, which proves that he’s loaded as fuck. I mean if his mom lives in a penthouse, then that means that he lives luxuriously as well. Okay, Mr grumpy pants, I see you.
We head straight for the building, and Jose greets the doorman cheerfully. Oh, so he can smile, nice to know.
We head inside, and as I look around, I don’t think the people who live here are human at all; I think they’re all werewolves. I can feel it, and after seeing those two girls, I believe this building hosts a lot of werewolves. Wow, werewolves exist; the inspiration for Jacob Black exists.
They’re supposed to be a myth, but I guess they aren’t, and I’m one of them.
We hop into an elevator which will take us straight to the building I was once in. The elevator is really quiet; I try my best not to look at Jose, and Miguel has broken the silence by deciding to whistle.
He reaches for his pocket.
“Gum anyone?”
“No.” Jose and I both say, and we exchange a look and then I avert my gaze, but he did it first. Nah, this man hates me, but why? What the fuck did I do to him?
The elevator opens up and we walk into the penthouse. “Oh, Soraya, you’re okay.” Rosalia, in her elegance, walks toward me, puts her hands on my shoulder,
then looks me up and down.“Ohh, the dress fits you more than it does me anyway,” she says with a smile.
“I was attacked,” I say. “By a shifter hunter.”
“Oh my God,” she says looking aghast.
“Why are shifters being hunted? I need you to tell me everything about what I am? Everything!” I’m ready for some answers.
SORAYAI’m surrounded by flames. I can’t see anything; the only thing I see is fire, but I can smell the burning houses, the burning bushes and the burning flesh. I don’t know how I ended up here, but I know that I have to leave this place before I get consumed by the flames. But I don’t know where to start moving.I’m stranded, and the fire seems to be coming closer and closer. I begin to cough, the smoke choking me. I have to get out of here ASAP, but I don’t seem to find a way out; it feels like I’m going to be stuck here, and when I’m stuck here, I’m going to get burned alive.I have lost all kinds of hope, at least I think. I scream and scream for help because it feels like the fire is whipping me over and over, and it’s getting closer.“HELP!” I cry out. I continue to shout and shout for help until I see a wolf just standing there looking at me. It’s a small wolf, and it just stares. Doesn’t it know that there’s danger? Why isn’t it running? He finally runs, and then I see my ch
JOSEI couldn’t get enough sleep because I spent all night thinking about all the events that happened, thinking about her, and I don’t know why she’s clouded my brain and is ruling my thoughts, but she is, and she’s made it really difficult for me to sleep or do anything in general. But I won’t let her distract me.Besides, I’m a twenty-five-year-old who has two jobs. I run a company, the family company my father left me after he died, and I’m the alpha; it’s my job to lead werewolves to protect humans from harm's way.Demons, vampires, fairies, rogue werewolves you name it. We destroy them before they get a chance to destroy anyone. That’s the covenant our ancestors made with the gods, years and years ago. When I found out I was going to be alpha, I was thrilled, and I knew that I was going to be doing great things. All I had to do was wait for the other alpha to retire, but he didn’t retire; he was killed by a vampire, and when an alpha dies, the next one takes after. It’s a whole
SORAYARosalia asks me if I should stay here, but I tell her that I have to get home because my friends and my father are probably worried about me. After all, I lost my phone and they can’t reach me. So we head downstairs; Rosalia hasn’t stopped holding me since. She’s acting like she’s my mother, but she is a mother, so she understands.“Jose is going to be taking you home, okay, and please don’t run away. We’re always going to be here for you. You need the community since there is a hunter after you.”Wow, there is a hunter after me. Someone wants to kill me- how crazy. This is the most bizarre night of my life, except for the night at prom when I found out that my mother was murdered.I miss her so much. All this while I thought she was shot by a petty thief, but she wasn’t; she was killed by a malicious person who has a problem with shifters.Yes, what happened to that girl wasn’t fair, but it’s not everyone who had anything to do with her being a werewolf. I mean, years have pa
SORAYAI’m seated on a couch with Rosalia by my side, and her son and nephew are seated on another chair across from us. Miguel looks as happy as if he were born that way, but Jose, on the other hand- honestly, I don’t care anymore. I never cared to know if people liked me or not.“I know you are confused.” Rosalia starts. “We’re just as confused as you are; shifters are supposed to be extinct.”“But why, why do these hunters hate shifters so much? And also, why don’t they hunt werewolves?”“That’s because they believe werewolves were cursed by shifters.” I look at her, confused, not understanding what the fuck she’s saying, but I believe she’s going to explain anyway because she can see the confusion on my face.“Before the existence of werewolves, the stereotypical werewolves you see in pop culture, there were shifters, people who could shift into any kind of animal. But the most common ones were wolf shifters; they walked in packs, they protected the land from evil, they were power

SORAYA“Oh my God, Oh my God. Oh my God! Oh my fucking God!” I say while hanging in the air like fucking Spider-Man. I don’t scream because if I do, people will look up to see me hanging. But I don’t have sticky fingers; I have just sprung up long-ass claws that are strong enough to dig deep into concrete. “Shit shit shit.” I try not to look down, but curiosity has gotten the best of me. I was supposed to be holding each balcony as I go from one penthouse to the other, but I accidentally have my fingers in the hard-ass wall, and I don’t know how to get it out gently so I don’t fall to my doom. I don’t know if I’m going to land on my feet or if I’m going to die and come back to life because I have nine lives (Wait, that’s a cat, I’m a wolf. I’M A FUCKING WOLF!) I don’t know if I will break some bones and heal again. That will be amazing, but I still don’t want to feel any kind of pain. Maybe I should have thought this through before throwing myself off the building. Now I am going t
