Chapter 106

ALEXIS' POV

I follow Randall as he leads me out of the room and down the staircase. There is no guard in sight and we walk cautiously down the hallway, carefully tiptoeing and sneaking behind the walls whenever we see a sleeping guard or a guard on patrol. Until Randall takes a turn and we disappear under an array of stairs, going further underground and appearing in front of a sealed tunnel. Randall enters a set of secret pins that turn it open and he takes my hand and leads me in. It is a hundreds of years old looking dark tunnel that smells funky. There are thick spider webs hanging at the sides of the walls and in this tunnel, bats take refuge.

I jerk in fright as a big rat runs past me and Randall holds me steady so that I would not trip and fall.

"Hey, hey. Steady." He whispers to me and we continue to venture deeper into the tunnel.
